I am a model railroad hobbyist living in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Happily married and father of a girl and a boy - both modestly interested in trains but happy to join me at the workbench. 

My main focus of interest is African railroads. I am hoping one day to build a big layout to an East African theme, running lots of Garratts. These I will have to build myself since no manufacterer is making any EAR garratt. And that is exactly what I am doing now, starting with an EAR Class 59

I am scratch building, using an etched frame and valve gear I designed myself. The upper parts are 3D printed. I'll start a topic with photo's soon.
