Started on the Soo Line as a Section Hand in April 1977; then went to the C&NW on October, working as a Switchman, Brakeman and Conductor till June 1985. Then went back to school in for woodworking/carpentry, but the jobs didn't pan out as expected. In November 1987 I was hired as a Wisconsin Central Limited High Rated Conductor, as an unknown fact the WCL laid off a lot of people early in 1988 to get their financial act together, so I was furloughed from train service but was given a job as a Carmen, three months later I was recalled into train service as a High Rated Conductor, then earned promotion to Engineer in September of 1989. In 2000 WCL was bought by the CN where I continued on as an Engineer till I retired on June 2, 2017.
