I am a Retired Veteran Main Line Locomotive Engineer with 42 Years Service in Illinois Central freight, yard, electric suburban passenger, I.C. thru passenger, and Amtrak service! I am the last of three generations of my family of Railroaders and am proud of my families service to the Railroad Industry dating back to my grandfather who hired out on the I.C.R.R. in Chicago in 1912! My career has involved railroad service on both sides of the Mississippi over diverse operating districts of service on flat-land, mountain, and coastal engineering. I was able to experience and enjoy a working career that was constantly changing and evolving in the Midwest and on the West Coast. I was both a scheduled and salaried employee, union and management at different segments of my career and have formed strong opinions on topics such as private enterprise vs gov. operation !
