Train time at Point of Rocks !

Normally a quiet location along the Potomac River where the railroad, the C&O Canal and US 15 come together, but with the arrival of East Bound train #20, the Ambassador from Detroit, Mi., the station platform is a buzz with activity. The station, designed by E. Francis Baldwin is one of the landmark structures on the railroad. KG tower controls the interlocking on this busy section of track. West Bound train #97 eases by on the Old Main Line en route to Wheeling, W. Va., being pulled by E-27ca #2855. The freight house is still a source of community activity as a livestock car awaits several truckloads of sheep for market on this Fall day in 1953. Photo taken on the Pocahontas Co. Society of Model Engineers layout in Green Bank, W. Va.
