HO Scale Steam Locomotive
This is my second extreme weathered locomotive, though this time its steam.
This HO scale locomotive started out as a Baldwin Consolidation 2-8-0 made by Bachmann. The model was completely stripped of paint and factory details.
There are over 50 new detail components, mostly made of brass, fitted, soldered and replied to the model. Some of the custom made details include brake cylinders, oil bunker, and stainless steel piston rods. The headlight is actually powered by the small 40 awg wire on the exterior like the prototype. The Tinder is connected using twisted 38 awg wire to also replicate the water and oil hoses.
The model is fully operational and equipped with a DCC sound decoder.
Many weeks was spent experimenting with different methods to get extreme rusted blistering painted metal look.
