weathering an old passenger car

This car was shiny new and I had no place for it on a fifties layout. Then I thought I could practice my weathering skills on it. It was shiny red, with a shiny grey roof. no windows etc. I used black acrylic paint from a tube mixed with water and alcohol for a black wash (last) The brown is tamiya alcohol based, thinned a lot with alcohol. I made a tamiya grey wash the same way. I just paint, and thin and wash with out much worry and am usually pleased with the results. Slop it on, use a hair dryer to set it fast and move on. Clear plastic dull coated for windows. I used silver enamel for the roof and dull coated it. this took just over an hour of actual labor, with some drying time breaks.. I have just started weathering, and I enjoy the heck out of it.
