The Timesaver layout can get by with four uncoupling areas. Using Kadee 309 electromagnetic uncouplers requires making space for the coil under the track. The coil has to be virtually against the rail, so you won't have room for foam trackbed. In adding the foam Subterrain product, holes had been cut for the coils in the plywood benchwork, and the foam track risers glued around these areas to make vaults that would accommodate the coils. I plastered over these, then poked holes from underneath once the plaster set, and used a Dremel tool with a cutting wheel to cut out the opening.
