My Ultimate DCC Throttle (UDT) for a HO gauge model railroad EMD F7A locomotive, I show the custom made wireless 1080p camera and HDMI transmitter chassis powered-up. (The HDMI cable is removed to better show the electronics).
Both are equipped with their own 5 volts 1.5 amp switching power supplies that obtain their power from the track DCC power. Because of the zero tolerance for power interruption to maintain HDMI connection to receiver, the F7B transmitter chassis has two modified SoundTraxx Current-Keepers and the F7A camera chassis has one. Both need to sit on a DCC powered track for minimum of 3 minutes before they are powered on to avoid tripping the Digitrax Super-Chief’s circuit breaker and possible damage to the transmitter.
Because of size limitations, the F7A camera chassis is made from scratch to obtain required space. The HDMI cable goes from the F7A read door to the F7B front door.
