Ciro Compagno is building an HO scale railroad based on the B&O's Staten Island Rapid Transit in the early 1950s. His superbly constructed benchwork features spline roadbed and hand laid track. Note the longer ties that will be used to hold the third rail shoes. The Staten Island Rapid Transit Rwy. had electrified passenger service and freights that were powered by a fleet of Alco S-2 units.
