The CSX yard engine at Sandy Hook Yard in Lynchburg shoves a cut of tank cars on February 27, 2013. Although the steam era ended over 50 years on the C&O, several concrete coaling towers are still standing on the Huntington Division East: at Balcony Falls, Va.; Ronceverte, W.V.; and Hinton, W.V. These picturesque structures remind railfans of a bygone era, and make outstanding photo props. Photo by Alex Mayes.
