WP Scratch Made HO F3A-B (Hybrid)

I started with used Athearn FP7A and B unit shells only. First I removed paint, lights, and all detail items (only plastic left). Then cut-out shell windows, roof fans, side molded engine louvers, front pilot, coupler details.

Reconstruction started by adding real see-through brass side engine louvers, S/S roof fans, lift rings, vents, stacks, horn, antenna, coupler details. Then added custom details for rear door, door handles with knuckle plates, headlights and rivets. I painted, decaled, added S/S chicken wire, step treads, kick plates, windows and frames, and mirrors with brackets, wind guards, MU and brake hoses, handmade grab irons, flag holders, and coupler lift levers. Finally I added lights for headlights, class, number board and rear light and a detailed painted metal casting interior cab detail kit.

Using a used Athearn chassis, made custom fuel tank, modified truck side-frame with new square and sloped journals, speedometer, and brake lines with hold-down straps, and new couplers. Installed a Tsunami EMD 567 decoder and speaker. Weathered with powders, oil paint, and iron dust rusted with salt-acid solution.
