Thousands of gallons of ethanol await loading in tank cars to carry the clean-energy-source fuel to refineries and distributors. In the background is the remainder of the Marshall, MN ethanol and corn syrup plant operated by ADM. This condensed model is still over 15 feet long, and in addition to the tankers at the loading rack, incoming grain and outgoing Dry Distillers Grain in covered hoppers, incoming coal in open hoppers to fire the boilers, and outgoing Corn Syrup in smaller tanks are switched in and out of the ADM plant's five-track yard. This all takes place on Mike Kaufman's BNSF Marshall Sub layout. The plant buildings are scratchbuilt, the tanks and loading racks from Walthers are accompanied by a scratchbuilt shed, and Minnesota Highway 57 passes over the scratchbuilt bridge in the background.
