Thanks to all who have given much great advice on my previous posts. Your experience is a big help. My next question involves going from one type of track to another. I have a fairly large (180') indoor layout using Bachmann steel alloy track. I would like to make a doggie door "tunnel" and connect to Aristo Craft track outside. Does anyone make an adapter track section that would mate one to another? OR Does anyone have any suggestions on how to best make a piece. I thought about taking two straight pieces and welding, soldering, clamping, epoxy and jumper wires, etc... Welding is probably out since I doubt if the thin Bachmann track could take the heat. Not sure about soldering. I really hate to replace all of my Bachmann track and I have no room left to grow inside my train room.
