I hadn't thought of that...You could easily shape those post tops to look like Zwiebelturn / Onion Towers common to Catholic churches in Bavaria, Austria, and Switzerland. Maybe you could have a magnet trigger a woman's choir singing "How do you solve a problem like Maria?" as the train passes!

Not to let the cat out of the bag, but...
the tops of the posts have been left in as a scenic element. They can be painted as Swiss style buildings. You can see the roof and the sides. Although, at this location, they may be covered with a pseudo rock like material. Haven't decided yet...

Onward and upward, as they say...
Today's sweat....
All I can say is :
the plan is...
to have no plan ! Many, many ideas in my mind. Sometimes, as I build, I find it's too difficult, or not feasible. Or, I just get a better idea.
But, for now, my idea is to swing a 180 degree turn, and shoot the track back out to the front to terminate. This would be considered " phase one" for this railroad, and I would just focus on detailing things out. There will be a town, or village at the terminus. Many ideas for that. The way it turns out will be a surprise to me as well !

The next segment is a 180 of LGB R2 track.
I have extended end of track, and tapered off the gradient...
So, I loaded up on supplies on Monday. I have 2 weeks off, and will try to push ahead as much as possible, before the weather turns scorching hot...

It's all in the name - Oberammergau, Ogden & Olamana RR - reflecting where it's been and where it is going. I am in the slow process of "Hawaiian-izing" things, and you'd have me go backwards! You're a real horrible influence!
Seriously, because of the legacy gear, we tend to go all in European or all in US / Hawaii on any given day. I never made it a rule. The crew just noticed what looked "right" together. Anyway, as we used to say, Harzschallspurbahn, oh, yeah...somebody hide the VISA!
Haven't worked on the railroad in a while.Been researching, and getting some great ideas ! Here's some observations:
I've been looking at you tube a lot. The RhB is probably as popular in Europe as Colorado Narrow Gauge is in the States. I've seen many garden lines in Europe that are RhB based, and many versions of the Helix at Brusio on the Bernina Pass line. And many concrete viaducts !
Eric, Harzer Schmalspurbahnen has a huge following in Europe as well. Check out you tube ! They have nice looking cars !
All this is getting me fired up to get back at it !
