Hi guys,

Spent a couple of hours last night putting hook & loops back onto my stock so I can run without cars coming adrift on uneven track. When I get the track down permanently i'll look at where i'm going in this minefield. Anyway, everything was going well until I came to the tender of the connie, off came the knuckle, on went the loop and yes, you've guessed it, the darn things at track height. Now all the Bachmann coaches swapped over ok, the loco is the same make and the coupler height is way out. Bachmann are you reading this??!!
Is it me? I ended up taking the coupler box mounting off the tender floor and packed it with a nut from the scrap box then refitted it. I fitted the shank of the loop into the coupler box after enlarging the fixing hole and filing the shank to take the box cover and screwed that to the mounting. It works, but it drops the coupler box low down between the back wheels, ok on track test though on 8' diameter.
I checked through the paperwork that came with the loco and found nothing on this. I might be Mr. Thickie here when you tell me that all I had to do was...............
Any thoughts guys?
Cheers,
Kim
[tup]
