<p>Jon mate, get yourself a Kalmbach book called "Model railroad Bridges and Trestles" you will know all about bridges and trestles once you have read that. Also in the same book is several articles by Harold Russel, he really knows his onions i can tell you. I think he is a civil engineer and actually designed real bridges for a living.</p><p>If you think it through though, you will realise that everyone and his dog has trestles, this is why i went for turn of the century concrete (cement) constructions, such as concrete bridges and viaducts instead.</p><p>Rgds Ian</p>
