Just to double check as I'm about to start my layout- this spring, are you saying on parallel tracks from center (centre) to center of tracks to space about 6-7 on straits and about 9 on curves, also how much does that change come into play with larger diameter curves ( I hope to use a min of about 20' but I havent spent the time outside yet to see if that will work in a couple places- I may have to go much tighter for it to work) I plan to run "modern" equipment-with possiblity of the largest avail equipment on the layout.

actually as a side note, I hope to convert to all body mount couplers, because I plan to operate with switching etc and based on my HO experience body mounted couplers is a must. what diameter curves is needed on larger equipment to do that.
