Walt, <br /> <br />Thanks for the description. I didn't phrase my question very well. Building "bench work" outside is what seems odd. I'd love to see some pictures of it in place. So far all the pics I've see of GR has been either on native ground, or ground raised with retaining walls. I can't fathom, a bench work layout, outside. <br /> <br />That being said, I had my NScale layout on bench work, as high as I could get it, and still be able to reach the whole thing, without damaging it with a loose shirt or jacket. 2 reasons, first its a better view, second it's a lot easier on the back. <br /> <br />If I could figure out how to make a rasied layout, outside, it would have a lot of advangages. Less chance for snakes, rats, mice, and other vermin to affect it. Easier to get it flat, as i live in an area that is rolling hills. And my property rolls along with the rest of the area. <br /> <br />Steve
