mini review of SMT test stand...
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, May 6, 2005 11:33 PM
Don't know if anyone is interested in such an item, or really cares, but I thought I'd share my first impression of SMT's ( http://www.mrsonline.net/html/roller_test_stand.html ) 1 Gauge (45mm gauge) test and display stand.

I originally got it so I can display my Bavarian S 3/6 (which is still on it's way to me) but in the picture below, I have an express train car mounted on it. There are enough rollers for 10 axles, and you can order more rollers if you need them, as well as additional extentions. But this thing is rather well made. I have the HO version, and while that's impressive, this one is even more so. The quality is top notch.

Of course there are two inputs for wires so that one can run (in place) a locomotive for what ever reason one might have.

Here are a two pics (again, with a car as I don't have my locomotive yet).

Hi BR 1116,

Art will be pleased with the review!

BTW "MRS" (stands for ModelRailroadSolutions) is also the ZIMO agent for NA.
ZIMO apart from producing DCC Systems suitable for any scale, also has the LS decoders which give you the most bang for the buck i.e. they have all the features you could desire and on the new version the software is flash-updateable via download from the Net. A feature which already has been applicable to the DCC control for some time. And yes, the downloads are free of charge.

I'd love one of those roller stands; how much are they and where can you get them from?
