Hey Rene,
For me it's both friends and family...but we can't click both! Finally have a group here interested in promoting the hobby here in Winnipeg. Meeting once a month right now. Sure hope to see it grow over the Summer! Later eh...Brian.

I'm sorry about the "both" option Brian. The survey tool doesn't allow me to set up a "check all that apply" question.[V]

Lone Wolf, no clubs nearby, no other modelers I know of. I here there are some at a nearby LHS but they are more of a clique, that anything else. I think they are members of "The Cult" they are always mumbling "LGB!LGB!"[swg]

   Have fun with your trains

Can't answer any of them because I share with those on this forum and MLS. Other than that just my two younger daughters.

My wife is moderately interested but is very supportive. My Grandsons are too young to participate actively but both show signs of genuine interest in trains. There aren't many clubs around and the ones that are in the state are too far away to be practical, so my "train buddies" are the folks on this forum.

You need to at least have an "All of the above" category - though it should probably be before the "Just Me" answer.[:D]

I'm sharing it with everyone, but it's "Just Me" for the expenses.[:(]

I have a 9 year old daughter, and a 6 year old son that enjoy playing trains. Santa brought him the HO Thomas the train collection, and a military train. My daughter wants a engine painted with tinkerbell, so I am trying to learn about decals. They build temporary layouts with ez track, and build some buildings. Of course they like to run trains. We have been to a few GRR and the kids have gotten to run some trians. They can't wait to work outside. But for now we have HO. We are watering it, waiting for it to grow into a big train. [:)]

I marked spouse, but I agree with the all of the above just before the me, myself and I option.

Grandsons from 14 (runs it himself) to 3 (chases trains around outer loop).

Girls in between like to ride thier Barbies around in cars on the train.

Friends love to sit on screen porch with refreshments and talk and have trains running around right there in front of them.

We have hosted several Club meetings, been open for the club's open house, and because we have a pond in the layout have been open for a charity pond tour!

If I happen to have it running when tradesmen come round to do jobs they're usually mesmerized!

Mostly spouse. Fortunately she enjoys the garden part, and is better at it than I am. Hoped to get kids and grandkid interested but no such luck.

"The Boo," my daughter Micaela, is a year and a half and enjoys working with me in the garden and is elated to nonsensical incredulation when I take out a locomotive to photograph.

I have to go with my daughter, and the neighboorhood children who gather around me on weekends to see what the crazy man in the grey fedora hat is trying to do.

Although I answered my spouse, who is most supportive of my hobby, I do have a few friends who enjoy seeing my garden feature every time they visit. In South Africa I have not been aware of any garden railway clubs. There unfortunately is not a big following of G or 1garge trains. I recenly held a viewing of my layout [Limelight Garden Railway]for 1 1/2 hours at our cluster and there were ± 60/70 visitors who were all most complimentary.

I agree[;)] on the 'all' option, just before " Me,Myself and, I".
My spouse (Martha) is mostly , generally supportive most, one third, uh, part of the time.
Although she has her own 'N & HO ' sets, she currently does not have any 'G / Large Scale', well, not that she knoes about any way. Working on a Valentine surprise...
Will advise how well that goes?????[%-)]

My wife is very supportive of my G scale but most of all its the enjoyment we get when the grand children come over and the first thing they go to is the train room and start playing with the trains. They also Have there own G scale set up outside to play with with Grandpas help when the weather is nice they are 3 and 2 and love trains. Im teaching them how to put the cars on the track and we let them pick the the ones they want to put on we are having a ball.
WE all love the trains.
