shoveopoly, <br />From your description "CorrectDeck" and "Trex" appear to be very similar, just make sure to buy solid core planks....no holes in the center. Try 1 plank first; take it home cut your splines and spacers then try building a straight section of roadbed. If you like the system buy more material and build the remainder of your roadbed. <br />If you don't like spline roadbed use the section you have on hand to build a plate girder bridge. <br /> <br />As far as driving stakes into the ground goes; I prefer to sit my riseres ON the ground with "feet" screwed to the bottom to prevent them from sinking into the dirt. <br />Frost heave in Minnesota is every bit as much as N.Y. and our line has had no trouble with the track in ten years. <br /> <br />If you like, send me an e-mail so that I can send photos of the way I use spline roadbed. <br /> <br />OLD DAD
