Try just wiring it directly from the power through a DPDT to the EPL motor, should work like you do for HO scale motors.

Byron, What's an EPL? I don't want to buy anything. I have one LGB1201 switch motor. My old power pannel, powered 4 switch's when i striped it I did not think I had any LGB switch motors. so the switch controls were cut up. If i remember correctly the 1201's are AC powered . If I use this will it act like a spring switch like the Aristo manual controler's do??

Dave

PS I don't no nuttin bout LGB

I should have said Directly to the switch motor, you arn't using an EPL in conjunction with it......Connect directly to the two screws on the switch motor from the DPDT switch. ALWAYS use DC power......Not AC.....for the switch motors....WHY'S HE ALWAYS CALL YOU POPS...

Well, I want pictures of this AC stuff!

You know trains don't run to well on AC track power?? (I hope)

As well as I can remember LGB turnouts are DC, track is DC and your killn me with all this AC/DC stuff!

 And what is a EPL??????

7277 was the fax number. we now have cable for everything. the AC run thru a diode act's like a singel shot of DC when use Normaly open switch when depressed I'm using sp-12 position rotery as a position indicator like I said OLD SCHOOL ( 64 next mounth ) this set up was given to me back in  93 or so by my LHS and I think it may have run in GR. They sold me the first two diode's $$ then I went to 1Amp'ers from  radio shack. so I Guees I will build the one I need in the a.m. over Coffee ( My time ) .

LGB 12070 EPL Supplementary Switch

EPL Supplementary Switch Type 2 This double-pole double-throw switch attaches to LGB 12010 switch drives like those on LGB turnouts

Pops

Nothing wrong with the old school. Rather hear what a old man say es then a new one. Learn lot more from the old school one.

Our kids today should have a Elder assigned to them to teach them how two's in life because we are missing the point but back to trains......

Go new school on this so if I come over you will not kill me with your V AC set up, besides it is easy. More like plug and play now. Bridgeworks DC Amp, Oh I'd say a 10amp one and your set for abit and your accessories come off the Amp, like turn outs and toggle switches........

BTW, why not just build a AC board? Have all that on a board, still easier to hook up to the Amp to the toggle switch then goes to the turn out and BOOM.....works!!!!

And yes I know your doing it long hand now, was not born yesterday, Triggy might have been, but not me.

Toad

Sell the house yet??????? Need money for track.

LGB EPL drives operate from A/C with diodes via momentary switches.

See this site for a schematic:

  http://www.altek.nl/graphtips/EPLsturing.gif

 Remember the switches are momentary.

I Plan on having at least 8 powered switchs, I would like to know what direction they are pointing before the train go's the wrong way down a dead (power) end.

so how do I wire a LGB1201 if not with AC.

SHOW ME.
