yea, they are operatinoal with a remote from up to a distance away, if i happend to find a engine or set without controller cheap, i would rewire it myself and save the circuit board for the remote, in a plastic bag, incase i ever got a remote, they are set on diffren frequencys or somthing, well, i seen a complete set on ebay, it will be over soon, i kinda lost intrest sence i first posted this and didnt find the "exact" set i wanted. however there is one on ebay now, ill post links after auction ends, and let you see what it looks like . im still not sure if i wanna get it
