A replyto KIMBRIT

If you plan a outdoor layout, out side of a G gage equipement do the following.1- you must have a plexiglass cover with removable tops and sides, for a 4'x8' section. You store everything in this area, cars, and locos,it then requires a door at each exit.2-Make a control panel with a cover3- You need a canvas cover for most of the layout, this will keep leaves and rain off it.Normally,i dont cover unless the forecast is rain,a blower is required for this time of year when the trees are shedding their pollen. The track does oxidize more than normal outside of the box.Inside of the box ,you rarely have to clean the track.UV does not affect the ties at all,in time they do get brittle, but if you dont change them they last a long time.I have given you all the negative side of it,but i have never enjoyed my RR as much since i moved them outdoors. As far as pictures, thats to complex for me.If you e-mail me, then i might be able to send some photos.I never liked being in a damp basement, now i love sitting under my umbrella and enjoying my hobby for hours at a time.GO FOR IT!

jabayshore@optonline.net
