WOW, it is 48 degrees cooler than it was Tuesday afternoon and will be lucky to hit 50 today. Frost tonight! WTH? Lots-O-Leaves down but to wet to burn.

Grandson Jordan's inguinal hernia repair surgery went well yesterday and he is home resting,   Now if he will just cool it with the Hulk thing he should be good. What do ya do? Boys at five!!  Wink

Man that was sure a fast and bad storm. Prayers for those in the path. Mexico beach is wiped out!

Banks, most the crop is out here. Just the cookie cutter fields left. We have had 4" of rain in the last five days so all stop for now.

Hello there,
Prayers for those in the path of the storm.

Another warm rainy day. Bumper crop if plants didn't drown. If you could only get it dry enough to harvest. Ears are molding in the husk and soybean are sprouting still on the plant.

Been busy doin nuttin the last couple o days.

Mrs OB visit went well. Get a mammogram and see next year.

Been burning brush and getting ready to saw the branches and split the trunks.

Heard from surveyor yesterday. As I expected neighbors garage and brick patio fence are within 4 inches of the line. The overhang and some plantings are over. He thinks he has 3 feet more than he does.

Started wine this morning with the grapes from our vine. Haven't done that in years. May do the same with the apples.

Best get on with the day.

Prayers for those in need.

Some here will remember Dennis Wiemer in south GA.  Text him this AM.  He replied 20 trees down and one through roof.  All OK.  No power and has water.  No generator as they never drop power there.

Remember Dennis.

Happy Thursday................

Spent the day at the clinic for an evaluation of a new drug for me, my lungs are and have been sh*t since I was 5.  Looks good, breathing better.  Followup next month.

My Temple Observation car comes in on Saturday, so the passenger cars are all done, just need to get the engine out of hock and the roster is complete.  Most likely the end of train purchases for a while, since I have to go garage shopping, which I'll do on Saturday, along with the service on the Hemi Magnum and my usual housework and laundry.  Appears to be a long Saturday.

Prayers to all affected and in the path of Michael, flood watches and high wind warnings are being posted at 6PM tonight.  Temp a big temp drop to a high of 50 Saturday.

Not so busy yesterday and nothing happening right now.  Have 3 so far.  need 10 more before 5 PM today.....

back when I can

Morning.  Cloudy and rain to come.  Not as much as orignally forecasted.  Still a lot.  East will probably get a lot less.  Good for farmers.  Mountains and west are really getting more than us.   Flooding there.

RT is probably getting a lot of rain.

Later.

Again couldn't acess this site. Last try was about 10:30am with no luck. Funny it seems this is happening more and more since someone isn't here any more. I wonder if he could acess it and reset it at home. As when it did happen it wasn't like that very long.

Afternoon ( now ) all. Heading to see my DR. today for a regular check up. I'm ready to hear it from her about my A1C. I'm sure it's up there.

Not much else is going on.

Good evening all,

Busy day at work.  Comfortabl weather for walk.  Did some yard pick up and some light tree trimming.  Hearing went well for Lucas.  Have to wait for judge to make decision on visitation process.  All else is settled.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Sunny today and Mid 80s...and humid.....Not complaining.....

Well, looks like my luck has run out on the garage, so I will be garage shopping Saturday and start cleaning out the garage that I'm renting.  End of year, I'm out.  Can't keep the bird out in the cold....nor the bike, for that matter....so there will be a train buying hiatus...maybe I can build the layout in the attic soon, I have to go get the lumber (FREE).

Fife - There was one that I grew up with, her husband was a NJ State Trooper, LODD, not sure how.  She was hot in grade school.  Things haven't changed.  Now that I recall, I did grow up with quite a few hot females in my school and on my block......but, I was good....

Slower today, only 10 so far, still 2.5 hours to go.

Got my BC cars in and they are just beautiful.  Not out of the boxes just yet, but soon.

One on my desk, gotta go.....

Morning all.

Right now I'm trying to get pre-approved for a new home loan, Saluda County, S.C. has no services at all for the elderly/handicap. Wife had a stroke back in Feb. She is doing good now but if something happened to me to where I couldn't do what I do we/she would need asstance. So we are looking to move one county over. Also trying to find something as close as possible to like wal-mart, and groceries stores, which we have found one so far, and it's a good size home. 1275 sqft. on .40 arces of land.

My card rehab is easy I do it 3 times a week.

Mornin' boys.  Wifey and I spent the day at Deep Creek for our anniversary.  We hiked to Swallow Falls, dined near the water, and played putt-putt golf in McHenry.  I'm a fortunate man.

Not as fortunate as anjdevil though.  Geez, Richie, talk about the fox in the henhouse...

88 - good luck with everything.

rt - hope the cardio thingie went well.

Banks - Best wishes to the Mrs.  Train departs at 11:30.

Monday - errand day.  Didn't get much else done.

A bicycle tour on the KATY trail came into town today.  Dog and my's daily walk on the trail was very interesting, as the dog was in 'persuit mode' because of the bicycles for better than 1/2 of the walk.  Then again, that burned off a lot of his excess energy so he was quieter than usual for the rest of the day.

My wife and I went out to a local steak house Saturday night figuring on one of their blue plate type of specials.  While we were waiting for a table, I was parusing the farm auction notices that were posted.  The date of October 6 on one of them looked familiar, so I asked my wife "what day is our anneversary?"  She replies "October 6".  So I says "happy anneversary".  She says " is that today?"

We had filet minion instead of the blue late to celebrate our 39th.

Roy - I was considering putting LED's into the switches and controllers.  They will last much longer, cutting down on maintenance, since this is going to be a museum display.  Thanks for the source callout.  I picked up a 10 watt transformer today for this application.

All for now.

Hey,

Seems everyone is doing well, Kev and Banks, both of you have some great pictures posted.  Lots of future stories and laughs for both of your families.

 Your right Don!!!

I Here it is after the repairs, the whole brush guard is still about 3/4" shoved to the left but just don't look at both sides at once. I spent $7.00 for a replacement emblem and $4.00 on epoxy for the grill. She looks ready for the next three grand-kids that have not yet got their seat time. LOL can hold this over the grand-daughter for a long time.

Here is the Gator after the fix, Came out good!!!

Evening all!

Some rain today. Nothing heavy in my area. 100% chance for rain tomorrow and then a cool front to make things nice for the rest of the week.

Nice lunch with my daughters BF parents yesterday. We'll do it again.

Brent - prayers in progress and good luck on the house sale!

Anj - good report! Glad the reunion was fun!

8n - I have used a doorbell xfmr successfully for O22's. I suggest you replace the bulbs with LED bulbs from Town and Country Hobbies. The incandescents pull up to 100 ma each (so 10 bulbs are 1 amp) and they 'cook' the lantern housing, melting them in some cases. The LEDs will pull around 10-20 ma each and run much cooler.

Happy Monday!!

Quick pass through, I'm heading home shortly.

Did 16 in house scans today, not been done here before.

45th Reunion ofr High School was a blast, I was single, so I had a great time!!!

I now have a Blue Comet Lionel set less than $75 for all 5 cars.  My LC+ Blue Comet is still on Layaway, I might have enough to get it out of hock within the next 30 days.

2 fire calls on Saturday and did the harvest fair in town.  This after a Friday night half of HS football and the rest of the night in the tavern with my classmates.

So, back to trains, I'm just missing a K4 PRR and a T1 PRR and my wish list is complete.  Both are moi expensive.......GG1 is getting a TMCC and Railsounds upgrade.

LionRoar - Prayers going up.  Good Luck on the house.

Fifey - Did see the progress and steam coming from the 1308...wow, just so cool!!

Going home, another 10 hour day in the books.....

Hey,

Seems everyone is doing well, Kev and Banks, both of you have some great pictures posted.  Lots of future stories and laughs for both of your families.

Speaking of pictures, I decided to check out my old obsolete cameras.  Ended up with 4 35mm and various accessories.  Did a google search on them found the values to be $15 to $40.  As it turns out there was a "camera show" going on about 10 miles from here.  So I went over and was able to sell one for $20, think my plans will change on the disposition of the rest of them).

Take care all and be SAFE

Mornin' Fellas

HOUSE IS ON THE MARKET!!!!!!!

Now just need a buyer and git-er-sold!

Fife - Congrats to Jamie! Sounds like an awesome time! No thanks on the website issues. I've moved on from website work... too complex for my liking.

Few rods in the fire... hopefully updates in the near future. Please keep fingers and toes crossed, and say a few prayers for TheVPQ and me!

The weather here has been running both hot and cold last week - we've switched the heat and air conditioner several times last week.

Made a run to Kansas City last Friday to pick up some 022 switches and an 'O' 90 degree crossover for the museum layout.  Found a #211 Texas Special Alco A-A locomotve there that I couldn't pass up.  The paint is a little boxworn, but otherwise looks brand new.

I'm considering using a 16 volt doorbell transformer to power the 4 switches on the museum layout.  Looks like that type of transformer will supply about 1.5 amps safely.

Anybody know what an O22 switch and associatd lantern and controller lights draws?  I'm going to guess that it is less than an amp.  The scale on my amp meter is too big to get an accurate reading.

Pulled the trigger and ordered a MKT NW2 Lionchief+ locomotive.  Will be interesting to see when it actually shows up, as the Lionel web site listed September as the shipping date.

Speaking of websights, has anybody else noticed how it seems to be more difficult to obtain useful information from them?  It seems like most of them route you directly to the 'buy here' section.  Digging out specifications, descriptions, and reference materials does not seem to be as easy as it used to be.

Another thing I noticed was that CTT did not include the classified section and index of advitisors in the most recent issue.  Now that we are retired, we are traveling more, and the classified section was a reference section telling us about events and hobby shops that might be somewhere along our route.

I guess that the return on those two or three pages probably did not offset the cost of producing them.  Unfortunate loss of information that in some small way used to support and promoted the toy train hobby.

All for now.

Hello there,

today's soccer game was delayed about 30 minutes due to storms. AYSO doesn't keep score but with much water splashing the opposing team scored 5 goals to the granddaughter's team's 4.

On the way home we stopping at Wallyworld to get a couple of things. Almost $100 later we got home in time to head to Mass.

Last hillclimb of the season tomorrow. Probably going to another muddy one.

Best get to sleep.
