Sun and clouds high in the 40s today, should still be in the 60s but it ain't. Saturday football will be Mich. vs Mich. State at noon then the Buckeyes at 7:30. Rumors abound that April 2019 will be the last April York and Lionel won't be there.

Hello there, Back from Lancaster,
Rode over there today to visit the QVC outlet and a couple of others. Did a drive by of 2 motels recommended by a friend. The Oak Ridge Boys will be there in March. Planning to go but want to avoid bedbugs this time.
Went to Mass and back to the camper in York. Watching Lawrence Welk on PBS and close to crashing.
Yesterday at York I picked up a 259 with a 262 cab. Also got a Gilbert HO lighted caboose that was only available in '55. Didn't need it but the price was to good to pass. Also got a rarer one year only caboose from '60 for the same reason. May list both on the Bay.
Spent some time bsing with Roy. While Roy John F and I were at the CTT booth waiting for the Photo who happened by but Bob Keller. Tryed to get him to wait for the photo but his ride was leaving. He seems to be in good spirits. Still looking for a job but mentioned writing about toy trains for 20 years isn't a strong point on his resume.
Mitch, Laz, John F, Roy and I were the only ones there for a photo. Buckeye was purported to be there but I never saw him. I'll get the photo on tomorrow nite or Sunday. My phone doesn't have enough smoke for Shutterfly.
Hope Johns son's wedding went well.
Chief. ....good luck on the hunt .
Font is all screwed up today
Best move on Prayers for those in need

Banks you had to be different didn't you? Most of us will start with large font and end with tiny because of the form firmware, But you start small and go large

Good evening all,
Quiet day at home. Very windy outside. Did pick up some sticks, did some errands, went to Mass. Grandkids tied one game and won the other. Playoffs next weekend. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning. Chilly and breezy. Have a great week ahead.
Hello there,
Wow!!!!!where is everybody??????
Back from York about 6 PM. Got the important stuff from camper to house. Ate some homemade Pizza. Just about ready to crash.
From the left. John F, Mitch, Roy, Banks and Laz.
Thin group compared to April
Off to bed.
Prayers for those in need
Wife and I took a train excursion in central Pennsylvania today. Much to my surprise, as we were waiting to board, the first snow flurries of the season began to fall. I'm wondering if there'll be frost by Monday morning.
More tree limbs down today. Watched F-1 race. Pretty exciting finish. Wife and I did puzzle. Taking off work tomorrow for family gathering. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning. Chilly good morning here. Warming but fall like.

Building? Consider upgrades on windows and roofing. It will pay off later.
Had a nice family gathering with people on wife's side of family today. Weather nice. Watched TCA videos of manufacturer's presentations at York. Magnetic HO track by Lionel does not look very appealing to me. Sometimes you can be too clever. Bachmann had an interesting explanation as to why there is not as much new product as people would like. I hope everyone has a good day.
Morning. Errands to run. Have a good one.
Afternoon all!
Still recovering from York.
Thanks for thr Bday wishes!
Driving a load of buildings and accessories back from York for a large layout. Rented a 12' Budget truck (124K on the clock, rough but it scoots along). The wife joined me for the ride. Stopped at Manassas battlefield, Monticello (very cool), and presently in TN.
Many commented that York needs to return to a two day show (was Friday and part of Sat years ago when I first attended). If you look at your York flyers and on-line, York dates and the fairgrounds are committed 2 years in advance. Folks in the know there say there will be no big changes in the near term due to these commitments. A TCA booth manager (and friend) said there were lots of folks wanting more space in the Orange Hall so figuring out what to do with Lionel's space in the spring will not be a challenge. However, from my experiene, once one gives up a space, you may get a different one next time. If Lionel pay for their booth space for all shows they can possibly maintain it while allowing TCA to put temporaries there in the spring. They have widened the aisles everywhere which is actually nice. Some empty booths and they were last minute no-shows and the booth was paid for.
Saw Bob Keller, Banks & Ms Banks, LAZ, JohnF, Northwoods Flyer, Buckeye, Mitch, MartyE, and many more friends. Had a great time working the Trainworx booth.
BTW - my opinion re York attendance (vendors and attendees) is the cost of hotels. The week after and 2 weeks prior to York, hotels are 90-100 per night. During York they jack up the rates. Expensive to stay there for 3-4 nights vs years ago when we were paying 50-70 per night. If you dont book in advance hotels jump to 200 per night after all taxes/fees...
Regards, Roy

Hey, been a few days.
The boy and grandson came by Sunday morning and we did a full pick-up bed of wood for them. They are looking to move up north to be by the I-90 corridor so he can get to Chicago for his work but the places they are looking at by Marengo are around 500K and Taxes there are real high.
That is good advice SJ, both houses we built I did the best windows and roof I could afford.
Lots of Robins passing through today, heading south.
Wife and I will be having our 32nd Thursday. 36 since we met will be tomorrow.
Wife's health INS will cost $177 a month higher than last year. Last year it went up 100% and the market is in the toilet for the 401K. As the rich get richer. I may have to get a job! She is still eight years from Medicare.
Best move on.

An early Happy Anniversary Kev and Ms Kev!
Travelin' so may not get to post next couple days.
Happy anniversary, Mr. and Mrs. KRM! Did more than I thought I would today. Got some blood testing and then some donuts!! Set up Halloween trains at historical society for Saturday's exhibit. Mulched leaves in yard. Did some errands. I hope everyone has a good day.
We held a kid's day at the KATY museum last Saturday. Had the usual number of folks - 15 to 20 kids along with parents. Had the Thomas lalyout up and running. The kids seemed to enjoy switching the switches between the figure 8 and oval configurations of the layout. I also had two loops of track set up on the luggage cart with a Halloween theme. One of the scenery pieces I had out was the recent Menard's Alien abduction piece. Most everybody got a chuclke out of watching it.
Finally got squared away with the insurance company and got permission for the tests the doctor ordered for my wife today. So far, we have lots of things ruled out, but do not seem to be much closer to what is actually going on. The next setp is an appointment with a specialist. Goody, goody.
All for now.
Morning. 63 degrees already.
Errands and lunch meeting [Human Services].
York, if not for seeing the guys [and gals], would never attend again. Can see all and order all online cheaper than trip. Probably why its getting smaller. Also most Mom and Pop dealers gone.
Sun and 47 this morning.
I hope that Mega Millions ticket belonged to a group so that more than one person will get some of the winnings.
Kev happy anniversary.
Busy day at work. Lots of meetings. Nice visit with Lucas tonight. Weather ok. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hi all
Recoverig from York. Work is not the way to do that. Hope everyone has been doing ok.
Picked up a 7 car MTH passenger set N&W at York along with a Polar Express frieght car. Almost had a caboose off ebay but got sniped by $2. LOL!
Trying to update my avatar since 2020
MartyE and Kodi the Husky Dog! ( 3/31/90-9/28/04 ) www.MartyE.com My O Gauge Web Page and Home of Kodiak Junction!
Afternoon. Had early meeting in Raleigh [7AM]. Now going to both elementary schools for events. Get home later this evening.
Happy birthday Roy!
Thanks for the birthday greetings to me on the 13th of October.
Hope everyone had a good time at York.
Finally got my California Drivers license renewed after my third trip to DMV due to a mix up. Forty mile round trip each time. It had to do with making my license conform to the new Real I.D. You will need it to board airplanes after 2020. By then I probably won't care if I go on one or not.
Baked some buttermilk bisquits this morning and made Bacon, egg and cheese bisquits. Better than McDonalds.
The new brace I got for my arithritic knee is helping a lot. Nothing special, just over the counter. Before that, I was having a lot of knee pain.
Boston is burying L.A. in the series. I have no love for the Dodgers anyway since they threw half their fans under the bus with TV blackouts during the season. They seem to have burned out just getting to the series and now have nothing left. If they don't win their home games, it's over.

Very busy day at work. Should be more calm tomorrow. Weather ok. Lucas extended his stay, which was nice. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening all!
Just checkin' in. Back from York and post-York traveling. Recovering tomorrow...
Mornin' FellasMade the trip to Pittsburgh to put the last touches on the house... praying it is enough to get it sold.On my flight home I sat next to an engineer who designs commuter rail systems. We were discussing the issues surrounding DC Metro, very interesting discussion. He said he goes to model railroad forums to learn how we operate our railroads and specifically yards to shuttle cars, it gives him perspective you can't get looking at terrain and road maps. He is able to visualize how the various yard layouts would look in reallife and then make adjustments to the plans to fit the company's needs. Never thought about it, but it makes sense. Many of us try to emulate reallife operations on our railroads and by posting plans and videos of operations certainly could be used for this purpose.
