The photos show up for me signed in or not.
Could someone let me know if the photo in my September 25th post shows up
Mornin' boys. Got back from NC around 2100 hrs last night. It was a lovely wedding, although a soggy one (oh well). Jamie was prettier than a cake topper. Food was great. We all had fun dancing and singing, and the last song was "Country Roads", to which everyone sang out strong. Brian (my new son-in-law) is such a good man, and his parents adore Jamie. We couldn't ask for a nicer family to share good times with.
Ocean Isle Beach, which is NE of Myrtle, faired pretty well from Flo. It only flooded in some low spots, most trees had foliage, 1 in 5 homes lost a shingle or strip of siding. However, we didn't dare go in the ocean, as we were at the south exit of the Intercoastal waterway, and it was brown as 3 day old coffee. It didn't stop the other SIL from fishing for shark. He had me out there til midnight (no need for a bigger boat...). Wilmington got slammed hard, and the waterways leading to Cape Fear were still inundated. Trees were stripped, and signs were twisted. Power company trucks were still caravaning around.
SPMan - Sorry for your loss.
88 - Git'er done.
Banks no they didn't show up. circle with a line thru them also.
Good morning all,
Posting now because it will be a late night tonight as boys' sectional game starts at 7 PM and I will be getting home when the hoot owls are hooting (to use an old Hoosier phrase). Watched soccer girls lose 5-0 Saturday and mowed the yard. Sunday watched the grandkids in a home school play. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Rainy, chilly 57 this morning.
Banks I don't care for your choice of breakfast so I'll just have coffee and a donut. Chief can grind his teeth away on some grits.

How's This?
Morning. Sunny and warm. County Commissioners this evening.
Banks, nope. No pictures.
Fifey, you were way south. I don't call that the Outer Banks. But that is OK. Glad you enjoyed.
Have a good one.

Happy Oct 1 all!
Warm here. Still 86 out this evening. Mid-to high 80's continue through the weekend.
Still recovering from the state fair trip yesterday - burp!
Fifer - glad the wedding went well and your area basically survived Flo!
Banks - sorry - still no pics?
Broiled tilapia for dinner!
Regards, Roy
Hello there,
apparently you can't direct link to Google Photos. Frustrating because I could see them. So back to Shutterfly. I'm reposting all the ones I did on Google
My Pap's retirement certificate

Kyle with Bryson their deer and their Dad's
This was a pita. Gonna get a shower and wine before I do the other pot.
Fife... Congas on the wedding. Also I'm having a brain cramp. Are Jamie and the Middle Princess one in the same?
Appears that I'm on page 1. Wow!
Got to our other place last Friday afternoon. Spending time getting my head around all of the 'post empoyment' projects we want to get into around here. Looks like we will be starting with the exhibits we are working on for the KATY depot museum. Next up will be a kid's day layout at the museum, then shortly after that, a couple of layouts at the small local train show we have here every November. When that is done, it will be on to the Polar Express themed day at the museum in early December.
I'm planning to add a track for the Polar Express trolly from the station on the layout so it dissapears into 'Santa's workshop' under the mountain. I think I'll try to come up with spme way to give the trolly irregular timing by using an insulated sectrion of track on the mainline to start the cycle either into the mountain or out from under the mountain.
We went out to the local Menards tonight. Most of their train stuff display was on the shelf. The UFO Abduction dioarama was in stock, so we got one. Will use it in for the October kid's day layout.
A steam engine cab mock up has been donated to the museum, so we are adjusting plans to fit it in. This will require cutting down the 4x8 Thomas the Train layout to 3x6 to make everything fit. I'll change from 36" Fastrack to 027 tubular for the layout to fit the smaller table.
I need to assemble the blood sugar readings I've been taking for the past month and get them to my doctor this week. I suspect that there will be a piper to pay in this deal.
About all for now.
Good evening all,
Boys won 6-5 in an up and down game. Never trailed, but could not hold onto a 3 goal lead. Weather was good. Work was quiet today. Good weather for walk. Going to bed. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hey all
Been busy doing much of nothing. LOL. Nothing new here in SW PA. Weather is going to be stormy today. Working on the Legacy presentation for York. Looks to me that this venture could be coming to an end soon. Without a lot of folks up to speed so to speak and less from Lionel we might have run our course.
Anyways hope everyone has a safe day.

Thought So
The Altoona Show is Nov 4th. You gonna be able to make it?
Banks - I doubt it, but thanks for the heads-up just the same. My train show availability is Jan-April. I did like the Blair County show last spring.
Chief - Thanks for setting me straight. I kept looking for Rolesville, while I was chugging along 17-403-40-95, but didn't see the name. Didn't see the famous train box floating along, either.
Morning. Warmer and more humid. Fall??????
Haircut and Town Board day.
Fifey, I 87 or I 587. Big sign. Funny, Rolesville is not close to the sign. 10 miles away. I 540, only small sign. Now DOT replacing with big sign due to the growth.
Great deer photos.
Morning,
Cool and they said we would get 2" of rain last night and we got none! How wrong is that??? LOL
Heading to Krogers for food then kicking back.
Got notice that the BNSF TIER 4 set that was to ship 10-10-18 when I ordered it for a 11-8-18 birthday gift ,,,NOW won't ship till sometime in December!!!
Madyson's handy work before I pulled it back.

Good Afternoon!!
SP-Ray - Condolences on your brother, very sad. Prayers to you and your family.
Fife - Glad you had a great time and congas!!
So, Mom and Dad's place in Oriental, so far will need a new roof, sheetrock and insulation replacement and replacement of the cabinetry in the garage, possible floor replacement in the kitchen and laundry room. The insulation and vapor barrier under the house (It sits up about 2.5 feet with a crawl space). Mom measured 22" of water in the garage. Dad is down there now, working with the adjuster(s), so we will see. I had hoped the house would have been damaged beyond repair, as they have been trying to sell this for about a year. At least it will have all new shingles and insulation. Maybe this is a blessing in disguise.
Weather here has been great, turning cloudy now, about 80 with a light wind. Rain and storms tonight and then upper 70's with sun rest of the week.
45th Class reunion on tap this weekend, should be fun. I'll be going solo, so I'll be able to enjoy myself. Friday night is homecoming and a tour of the high school (which I've done many times looking for heat and smoke detectors going off....) maybe a trip to the tavern afterwards, then Saturday for dinner. I love to see who has gotten older....lol!!!
Train sorting continues, still finding things I had forgotten about, which is cool, several buildings that light up, many more box, gon, flats and caboose (cabeese?) and quite a few still boxed. I am unboxing several of my 1/43 and 1/48 collectable cars and using them on the future layout, since they are mostly valuble to me and not so collectible.
Back when possible, work is slowing down a bit this week!

Afternoon All!
Another rainy ,drizzly Fall day here. Like Marty, I've been busy doing nothing!
Rich - Hope the folks house situation works out.
Ray - My sympathies to you.
Kev- I hear ya. I had an MTH order due in the end of September. Now, it looks to be the end of March!! I was hoping to have it before Christmas.....
Banks - Nice pics! I like that PRR certificate.
I guess that's it for now. Thoughts and prayers.
Rob
Evening gang!
Another day at 86. Puffy clouds so pretty pleasent out today. Son and I sat outside at lunch today! Nice low level breeze.Banks - great photos! Esp like your fathers retirement letter. I have my grandfathers retirement letter signed by one of the Schlumberger brothers, two letters giving him permission to be on leave from Ellington Field in 1919 (he was a lubrication 'engineer' in the aircraft 'engine' section of the Army 'Air Service', and his Ellington Field 1918 yearbook which has pictures of all the soldiers/squadrons, Ellington operations, layout, etc., even wrecked planes (one in a tree).
Marty - I hate missing your Legacy sessions due to other commitements!
I dunnu Chief - you always appear to explain there is a sign for Rosyville and yet no one ever sees it
Kev - glad the damage wasn't any worse!
Quiet day for a Tuesday at work. Took it easy tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.
Evening all from Southern Ohio,
Where did September go??? Lots going on at home and at work. Nothing bad just all time consuming.
May God bless
Jim
Marty and Banks,
The Monroeville show is November 10-11. I'll be there if work doesn't get in the way.
Phish,
I got the AF bug again. First, it started with finally getting a 372 Union Pacific GP-7, then it was a very clean set 5423T The Mountaineer (1954 version) from a local through Facebook, followed by a decent 1953 version (5323T) from ebay.
Going to be HOT!!! 74 already heading to 90 today, Nuts. Glad I did not cover the AC unit yet like Brain down the lane did.LOL The leaves are starting to fall in earnest now. Did two loads yesterday, some leaves but mostly oak acorns, walnuts and hickory nuts and you can't tell I did anything this morning. Won't be long now and I will be doing leaves everyday.
This site just gets worse! Can't log on, then can't log off and un-safe!!!
Got my scrip renew in the mail last week, Guess I will hold it to see if they ever fix this site!
Good Afternoon from hot 93°F Southern Ohio
I’m at work and currently in the monitoring mode in both buildings. In addition to overseeing the crews I’ve been asked to complete another qualification. This one is a Nuclear Facility Manager. A lot of regulatory type stuff. Lots of reading and digesting federal regs. Ever have trouble sleeping? Read this stuff.
I’ve not worked on the layout for a couple of weeks. The last days off were spent working the Honey Do list. Got quite a bit done so maybe can justify a few hours on it this weekend.
Update on the oldest girl from the neurologist not sure if her seizure was a seizure or “just an episode”?. More tests later this month. Wife’s heart doc says for now just keep an eye on things. Wife’s mom continues to downgrade, she will be 89 next week. Her siblings are in denial of her failing health and question every decision made for her care, but are too busy to help. Rant over; I feel better.
Jim - Great pieces you have gotten. The Mountaineer is a great set.
Kev - We’ve had the AC off for the past few days but I’d say it is cranking at home today.
Rich - Now may a good time to upgrade the wiring while to walls are open.
Weather warm. Work quiet. Boys lost 3-2 in a close game. Considering pre-season expectations, a good season. I hope everyone has a good day.
Mornin' boys. Cloudy/foggy and 65 along the Patterson Creek cut-off. The newlyweds return today. Wifey and I have been playing care-takers at their "estate" since Monday.
Tuesday, as the train was pulling into Ridgeley Yard, the crew at Diversified had 1309 fired up, for the first time in 60 years. The burning coal smelled great, and the sight of smoke flowing from the stack had everyone smiling. My best moment at the WMSR thus far. You can check out the images on the TRAINS news sight.
