Doug M, Only $14m for that little thing?  I don't think I could afford the fuel.  Thinking more along the lines of a Pontoon boat, maybe the Chief will send me his for awhile.

Kev,  Yeah your right.  I wouldn't go back to the Railroad, and found out yesterday they transferred me to Guest Services to take advantage of lower pay scale.

Well going to get going got some tracks to cover today.

Hope everyone has a good one.

KRM - Just spreadin' the looooove, I see. Laugh

I see the new MTH catalog is on-line.   Have fallen in love with the B&O 722 (for obvious reasons).  But at $449.99, 'twil be love from a distance. Sigh

Morning all.  Being lazy as first meeting is at 4 PM.  Long day tomorrow.  Starts with meeting at 7 AM and ends with elementary school event that ends at 8:30 PM.

KEV, I have not upgraded but Brent here says its great.  I have US Government contractor friend here in Rolesville [works from home] who says it is great and do.  I will soon.  Says less bugs than any Windows product ever.  Told me you could still run old along with new. ????

Later.

Good, morning, slept in.

Thanks RT and Doug,
I should of said I have Windows 8.1 now and it works fine. I keep getting the pop up for the free up-grade and I have been told that Windows 10 is the last hard drive operating system that Windows will ever do. The next will be cloud and I don’t think I want my operating system someplace up in space where who knows who can get into things. I just want to be sure those who have it like it before I upgrade.
Don, Can’t say I blame you for moving on. Those Japanese style pep shift starts are stupid. We did them for some time but they died off fast at Cat. And when I crushed my arm back in 1996, that the was the living end of my time in the shop. I was just a liability at that point to them. At least I got lucky and moved into the logging engineering group and then later Logistics to finish out my time. Most of the injured shop workers just would get put in the cripple crib for the rest of their time doing simple sub-assemblies.
Well SS pad-day so Bills to do.
Thanks to the working.  Wink

Gloomy but going to 72 today.

Don it sounds like you have enough work without working. Just enjoy.

I ran some trains yesterday just to check things out. Everything seems to be in working order.

Morning all,Nice but cool out quiet so far guess need to start shaking these bones and get going nothing planned for today but might as well start moving you all have a good day talk to you all later.

Yeah Don I could see the excitement when being part of the train crew but at the gate I would get tired of that real quick also. Like you said you have to many other things to keep you busy. That sounded more like a job for a high school/collage student or someone that is retired and wanted something to do but not earn a lot because of SSI as it could effect that.

Aloha. Warmish today. Don't know who is more annoying - whiney Cubs fans or obnoxious Mets fans. Too late in the year to be playing baseball anyway. Kev, Win8 or 7 are perfectly 'stable' and supported. Win10 is fine too. We're not upgrading yet. Congratulations on 50, Doug. Something for us to strive for. Only 26 for us...  DonB, I have exactly the boat for you for the upcoming deluge.

Good morning all,

Too sore to post last night.  Tried to play all 50 minutes last night and just could not do it.   Going back to work today to rest (physically).   We lost 5-1 to a good team last night.   Got the bookcases from IKEA yesterday.   Will have contractor make some slight mods and have him put them together.   Much easier.  Dougnotta, congrats on 50.  Will be celebrating 37 soon.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Evening All !

Doug DG, Congrats on fifty!!  That is really awesome!  Kay and I celebrated our 36th today.  Chris took us out for dinner tonight.  New place called Rock & Brew, owned by a couple of the KISS performers.

Called it quits at Knotts today, due to the work restrictions I have can't really go back to the Railroad.  (Didn't want to anyway.)  So they had me working at the Main Gate, I couldn't get into doing that, just not my cup of tea.  And they do really weird stuff there, have a daily Pep Rally, and recite the Coporate Mission Statement with a WaHoo at the beginning of every shift.  Is not unusual to be sechudled for a 3 hour shift.  Then if things are slow they send you home early!  Knott barely meets minimum wage, and I don't need the money that bad.  So just decided to resign.  Besides got too many train layouts to work on.

Went and viewed another one yesterday.  Will probably start on it either Friday or Monday.  This one has 3 elevated tracks, turnable, double cross-over switch and about 20 Ross/Garves switches.  (The owner used to work at the west coast distributor for Lionel.  He currently works at the local train store.  He has two bedrooms FULL (floor to ceiling) of new Lionel stuff!

BTW does anyone have a boat for sale?  They have been broadcasting on the news all day, that the current El Ninyo forecast is for 35 inches of rain this winter!  Can't believe that!  Given we have a significant Flood Control Channel behind our place, will be keeping a closer eye on it.rr

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & warmin' up.  Placed the palm tree back outside on the front porch.  Grandson is here, and we have a loop of fastrack running around the loveseat.  Still reelin' from this cold, and might be flying solo Friday if Wifey comes down with it...  Still nothing etched in stone on WV...yet.

rt - Silly for people to squabble with a seller.  If the price is too steep, or shipping too much, scroll along...

morning all. Up and moving. Nothing planned for today guess I should organize what I have for sale a little better as right now have it mixed with not listed yet and a little confused what is and isn't lol Just getting ahead of my self there I guess. need to repackage one item I know is going to sell to a little smaller box or customize the box some as is its over size by P.O. standards.

When I sell stuff on the bay I check for items comparable condition of same item I'm selling and try to price from there. Then you get someone come in and because you have a low ebay number think you know nothing and want to give you little to nothing for the item lol little do they know I had 2 accounts both with feed back over 1000 that I closed because I got mad at ebay and I have been buying and selling for over 20 years and know what the items are worth basically anyway lol

Guess I need to look into making some breakfast and get this day going seeing the chief is up and running already Hope all are doing well and Prayers for those in needs

Don your all's work looks great Thanks for sharing.

We were out enjoying the beautiful fall weather this weekend.  Spent the better part of Saturday at Heritage Days in Warsaw.  This is a display of arts and crafts of the early 1800's.  The highlight of the day was an eagle that we spotted working a thermal.  I suspect that it was a young bald eagle.  Finished the day off at a resturant that features Amish cooking on a buffet.  This place is soo good, we only go there once a year - the desert bar is about 30' long!

Got some yard work done on Sunday.

On the MSU - UM game GO GREEN!

At work, last Friday's 3pm problem has become a simmering crisis this week.  Going to be interesting.

All for now.

Don, that is some fantastic layout work.  That wiring specifically looks very well done.  Having just completed wiring my layout I can really appreciate the quality of what you did there.

Nice weather day.  Ok checkup with doctor.   About as expected.  Started moving stuff into train room.   Contractor was by tonight to get list of items to be done.  Said he will be here with crew tomorrow.  We shall see.   Did a bunch of errands today.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Well I got the new Lionel Christmas and Volume 2 catalogs today from Charles Ro today. Nice of them to send them out to their customers. I did not see anything I had to have but do like the CNW Windy City set, made me think of Doug. All of the prices were up there even with the discounts offered. The rolling stock car prices sure make the Menard’s car offers seem very very good.

Think I will give the Christmas catalog to the yongest grand-son. Mischief

Good morning Don, really good to read your post.  That is beautiful work on the layouts.  Your clients should be well pleased.  Didn't know you returned to Knotts.  Are you doing anything connected to the railroad?  We had a power failure yesterday that lasted for over 12 hours.  Squirrel got tangled up in the power lines I was told.  Fortunately, the neighbor next door had a generator and let me plug into it for our refrigerator.  Our grandson who is at UC Irvine turned 18 on Saturday.  We will celebrate the next weekend that he comes home.  A/C at church was working good on Sunday but it still is waiting for repairs.  The pastor leaned on the deadbeats in the congregation to pony up their fair share to cover all our expenses. Amen!

later,

Ray

Aloha. Sunny and warmer today. Got in a sail yesterday afternoon after the Bears game. At least the game was entertaining It was only 50 degrees but quiet on the lake instead of blustery. Every time I can go out is a great time. Marina closes next Sunday so I feel fortunate. Also watched the races for America's Cup from Bermuda.  I sure felt sorry for the Michigan punter. What a way to lose a game. I sure wouldn't want to face his coach... Of course, there's snow in the UP already - 2 inches I think in Marienette. Wow, that seems early to me.

DonB, those layouts look neat. You are sure correct about everything jammed into the first one you shared with us.

Roy, that was quite a NASCAR race... not that I'm a fan of Kevin H, but I wish Joey hadn't spun him.
