HUDSONJOHN,
Big CONGAs for your son HUDSONJOHNSSON!!!!! Glad to see he made it to the Academy.
If DORAY still has those foam protectors for her ice cream containers please save me a few of them. They really worked out great for working on the engines. Wish I would have taken a few more from ya.
Stay frosty my friends,

Good Afternoon guys! 40 degrees and Raining
Quiet Day today. Just doing some train repairs and stoking the wood stove. Going to the Greenburg Show in Somerset, NJ tomorrow.
Kids and Trains: Guys whenever kids come to my house it is, "Can we play with the trains?" My answer is always yes. I try to encourage them with the hobby and show parents and grandparents just because they are "Lionel" you do not have to spend a fortune. Also all of the fun that they can have on just a 4x8 space. I am fortunate to have layouts at 2 locations. The 4x6 "Test Track" that I put up on the old HO table at my Mom's house when I was taking care of her during her bout with cancer (at 85 she beat it) grew to 8x12. I refer to that layout as the Branchline. Mom invites neighbors and friends to see it and you would be surprised how many "Senior Citizens" dug out their trains to run around the tree this year. In other words I am glad to see all of you guys sharing your trains with others.
Enjoy the day.
John
Been raining onto frozen ground all day. Slick as can be. Snow tonight. Boys at the township must be sleeping, nothing done to the roads, solid ice. Going to just stay put.
Had a friend's two boys stop over last night to see the trains. An 8 year old and a 10 year old. All had fun.

Buckeye Riveter Buckeyeland is all excited! Many have found old Scarlet and Gray clothing to wear from the past. "Hang on Sloopy" is in the air. And I have a problem that I hope MTH will solve with an update.

Posted the MTH OSU sign on MTH's FB site with the update comment and it was deleted even after a couple of likes and one comment. My mistake, finally found it buried on the MTH website.
Working on a new bridge for the layout. Orange paint is about dry. Now for the dark blue details.
Wet at Rogers Corners, but thankfully no ICE!!! North of here may be icy.

Complained about the same. Fifey says he's is fine. Probably running a different version of software.
Really don't think anyone gives a d--- except probably Bob and his hands are tied.

Good Morning Boyz & Gurlz !
A bit of insomnia this morning, guess I reclinerized to much last nite before bed.
Good day yesterday, no pile-ups and no gremlins. Museum was busy all day, will be going in on Monday to take down all the Christmas decorations. Time to start thinking about the Easter Bunny Train ?
8n, I have a simple rule "credit cards never leave my wallet". Well, almost never.
Fife, Watching the munchkins at halloween is why the BetterHalf and I enjoy putting up the garage display every year. It is surprising how many will notice something new on the layout even though they haven't seen it in a year. Just something about kids & trains. Hopefully we'll see the same response next year with the Christmas garage display.
Time to get moving.
Later all !

Is this forum bad or what? Just did a reply and turned out like the above? Had everyone that I wanted to rely to all in order and came out in paragraph form.
Don't know about this?
Mornin' boys. Damp & 39 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Finished the bathroom project last night, and celebrated with wings and Yeungs (as laz would say). Wifey was very pleased. Now I can spend today working on my Lionel stockyard. Gonna throw a loop of track down around the tree, before the grandson comes over later.
Invited my neighbors and theiy 3 yr old grandson over to watch trains the other night. Child is somewhat shy and a little withdrawn...but he loves trains. 45 minutes later, he was still at the controls. Gave Wifey and me big hugs as he was leaving. Next day, asked neighbor how our "little engineer" was doing. He was till chatty about the night before.
Got to lake house at noon. Furnace not firing. Had to drive back to Henderson and get part. Neighbor and I installed controller for igniter. All fixed.
Why I want to sell that place. If something breaks, 30 minutes to get part and 30 back.
Sleep tight.
Good evening all,
Better day today. Got the cruise control installed on van. Very nice to have. Went to see "Into the Woods". Good movie. A little different take on some of the fairy tales we heard as kids. Watched 2 more Sherlock shows. Did some work on another article. Have some more ideas to write on. Not much more to say. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good evening,
It was a bit warmer today, but we're looking at some freezing rain overnight. We did some grocery shopping this morning, but not much else. Tomorrow, we will take down the Christmas decorations, which includes putting up the Christmas trains. I need to get moving on a layout in the basement.
That's it for now.
Joe
DDG - a credit card will work as an ice scraper in a pinch.
Slept late this morning and missed our scheduled time at the chapel at church. I think we are going to have to take our name off the list of people who are signed up for a specific time. I have just too much on my plate to remember everything. We can still go but would not have anyone depending on us to be there. Oldest son spend the afternoon and evening with us yesterday and we all went out for a burger later. It was a nice get together. Youngest son came in late like something the cat dragged in after two days of New Year celebrating and Rose Parade. He's up early this morning and gone again although he's off today, leaving me with some chores if I don't want to wait for him.
Saw the Move "42" last night on DVD about Jackie Robinson. Good movie but seemed too short. I like those period things and things about baseball.
Watched a little of the Rose Bowl but had no dog in the fight. Oregon embarrased Florida State in the second half but it was close in the early quarter.
Might go to Costco today if the spirit moves me.
later,
Good Morning Guys!
The only thing on the agenda is splitting some firewood. Glad I have a log splitter.
Fife: I thought the same. You are leaving and he is starting. Doray was beeming ear to ear when I opened the 773. Johnny told me that she was all excited when they got it.
Enjoy the Day!
Morning. Cloudy and warm. Rain starts tomorrow and ends with Tstorms Sunday. Highs up to 70 Sunday. then fairing off and cold. Up and down.
Off to lake house for some check it out. Back tonight.
Have a good one.
We have 31 degrees this morning.
A good football day for me. Michigan State and the Buckeyes won. It's good to get the win but a loss wouldn't end my world. It's a game just move on. The holidays are over so now we wait through a long long winter.

Mornin' boys. Partly Cloudy & 32 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Still working on the bathroom. Wifey doesn't like the color paint (bed of roses ) that she picked out. Too late.
Did find a Rose Art cork board at the local Goodwill. My 3656 stockyard fits smartly on same, as with a Marx 74 semaphore. I need to finish honey-doooos before I can fire it up = in-cen-teeev.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill.......
It is dark and 30 degrees. Going up to a sunny 40.
Today is a busy day. Lots to do around the house and a few errands to run.It was a quiet Holiday season. Not bad.
Cheerios for breakfat on the dining car.
LAZ ........... Happy Birthday
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Should be a video above, (definetly an attempt)
Didn't work, oh well I tried.
Don
Enjoyed the Cottom Bowl today. GO GREEN. Never give up, never surrender!
Worked on my 646 Hudson last night while watching Dick Clark's Rockin' New Year's Eve. The 646 would run a couple of laps on the layout, then just stop - no lights, no nothing. Cycling the power on the transformer would bring it back to life for anouther couple of laps when it would stop again.
Pulled the shell off, checked all of the wiring and didn't find much. About the only thing that looked odd was the wire leading to the field coil was very close to the motor frame. I pried the wire away from the the motor frame then started to reassemble the locomotive one component at a time, running the loco on the bench at each step - no issues. Ran the loco on a small test loop of track for 15 minutes or so without any issues. Looks like whatever I did worked.
My wife is running her collection of Downtown Abby DVDs in a marathon yesterday and today. Says she wants to refresh her memory so she is ready for the new season that is soon to air.
All for now.
Dang, who left the freezer door open last nite ? When I left for the museum this morning it was 25*. Took forever for the ice on the windshield to melt, no ice-scrapers in SoCal. Not supposed to be that cold in the morning tomorrow, wish I had kept my old ski gloves.
We were very busy today, many more visitors than we expected. Best part was the gremlins didn't materialize.
to laz !
Gettin tired, need to get ready for tomorrow.
Nite all !
Happy Birthday Laz !

Happy New Year!
It's been a quiet day here. The older son and I did take care of remaing leaves that were in the backyard, but other than that and a quick trip to Home Depot it was easy going. I watched the game slip away from Minnesota today and then heard about MSU's comeback. It could be a good bowl season for the Big Ten.
Last night, the wife and I joined my boss and his wife for dinner. We went to a local steak restuarant that has received national noteriety. It is old fashioned (cash or check only) and always busy. I had some tasty lamb chops and will definitely return. The wife and I were asleep by 23:30.
Happy Birthday Laz!
A nothing day turned out to be really nothing. Did not sleep at all last night. Some sort of stomache issue laid me low. Just rested today. Did talk with Lucas. Was hoping to see him Saturday, but he is working all day. Watched 2 more Sherlock episodes. That is the some total of my activity today. I hope everyone has a good day.
Hudson - Wow, a 773?!! You certainly rate in your household. Are we sure the Mrs isn't feeling the ill-affects of the price when Ray told her...? Seems like only yesterday that John-son started the academy. He's a-comin' and I'm a-goin'.
Happy New Year all!
We're home alone all day since youngest son is out all day with girlfriend. They went to the Rose Parade this morning. It was 32 here in Glendora this AM. Got a glimpse of the B2 bomber after it flew over the Rose Parade but turned North before it got near our house. Older son coming over tonight. Invited himself for dinner. I'm hoping I can find a place open to eat out. I don't want to cook.
Wife had some anxious moments yesteday but she seems better today. Her situation is a constant worry now.
Don, I might try to make that TTOS meeting Sunday if I can but might bring Helen with me since all my back ups have disappeared.
Looked at latest TCA Bulletin today about the upcoming convention in N.Y. Looks like one of the best ones yet. Lots of tours to famous places. Wish I could go.
Happy birthday Laz!
