Morning Guys,
Still doing my thing, Therapy, Therapy, Dr Visit, Therapy.........
Went to Dr on Monday, he was pleased with amount of movement at my ankle. Complemented me on exercise, etc. The leg balloon is working great. I created an Excel Data sheet of measurements before and after treatment and treatment frequencies. He kept the data. Said their office was monitoring my results for review and recommendation to other patients. Was concerned however of a persistent "red" spot, of possible internal infection. So put me on antibiotics, ordered a special blood test, and return in two weeks.
Got oil changed in all 4 cars the past two days, El Camino only had 2k miles put on it since last change done last May. Good news is all is well there.
Got my Root Beer stand done, I am pleased with it. Going to populate it with some people, then take some pictures. Kit was difficult, but worth it. Going to start on a White Castle stand soon.
Went to train show this past weekend, really enjoyed it. It was lot better than I expected. Saw a friend of mine there who builds layouts, wanted to know if I could help him with DCS wiring. So depending on how leg does, will try to help. Should not impact recovery, primarily a consulting role.
The weather has been fantastic, 85, a bit dry however, Santa Ana winds coming off the desert.
Take care and STAY HEALTHY!
Don
Good mornin y'all from sunny and 41 Cape Ann Taxachusetts. More rain and snow is headed my way. Doug....the MBTA commuter rail here is a mirror image of METRA. Trains down and passengers having to stand all the way into Boston. Some cars with no heat in the Winter, and no A/C in the Summer.....there is nothing like sitting in a steel box with no air movement, no a/c, with outdoor temps in the 90s and inside about 120, and a lot of people, some of whom only seem to bathe on a Saterday once a month. :-)
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
I wonder if RAY SP and DOUG DG are going to post pictures from their procedures. Journey to the center of the earth comes to mind. Don.....good results are more likely with patients follow the instructions.....very happy about your continued progress. Jack.
Good morning all,
The colonoscopy went well yesterday. The doctor said that there had been some healing with my Crohns disease. He attributes the imporovement to the new medicine I have been taking since the last time. Thank the Lord for small favors!
Slept like a log last night. Best night's sleep I have had in months. Probably because I only got 5 hours the night before and maybe the stuff they gave me at the hospital was still working.
later,

Procedure went great, the prep well that's a different story. Scoping was scheduled for 10:30 am and I was home and napping on the couch by 2:00 pm. Was hungry enuff to eat the horse and chase down the rider so we made a quick stop at IHOP on the way home. A small bacon & cheese omellette hit the spot. We were supposed to visit a friend's "S" gauge layout tonite but I am still kinda walking like I'm a little drunk so the BetterHalf convinced me to skip it.
Club meeting tomorrow nite and museum run on Friday.

Good Evening, down to 34. Winter is sneaking back.
Took down Mom's Christmas Decorations today then met Doray at the rehab center. She got in trouble today for pushing her wheelchair down to the PT area. It is on the opposite end of the rehab center and it is a big complex. lol She is doing well and she will be released tomorrow but she will continue as an outpatient 3 x a week.
Laz: So it looks like our retirements are being househusbands and doing chores for MOM. Not a bad deal! lol
Doug M: You mean newer is not better! lol
Don: Great Progress and glad the root beer stand came out well.
SPMan: Congrats on the good results.
Dougdagrump: Congrsts for your resuilts.
Thoughts and Prayers for all in need.

Good evening all,
Good day today. Quiet day at work and all caught up on case reports. Played soccer indoors for hour and a half. Good to hear all the good medical news from everybody. Doug M, at least you have a commuter line. Indiana used to have a great interurban system. Greensburg to downtown Indy in an hour and a half....in 1930. Now it is still almost an hour even with interstate. Some progress and I have to drive. Go figure. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good night all. Seems all are doing fairly well. Had busy day. Dr's apt early and then Mayor's stuff. Dr. implanted some meds pellets in my right hip. These take the place of daily meds. Nice thing is not taking meds each day. Down side is hurts for a few days and hip looks like someone hit you with a baseball bat for a couple of weeks. 81 mg aspirin doesn't "help" the bruising.
Was in the 50's today. Snow flurries tonight and back in the 40's tomorrow. Up and down.
Sleep tight.

Hello all
Back for another week on the hill. Yes, collecting photons again. These astronomers just can't seem to get enough.
Got both the Marx 898 and SP 6000's in while I was off. Both are in decent shape as are the 7" cars. There's a few places on the 6000's where the litho is flaking off. Was thinking about using a gloss clearcoat. Any thoughts?
SPRay - been following the 4014's progress reports. Quite the project they have there. Cool that they are replacing it with another engine. Kind of funny to see a diesel going on display so they can put a steam engine back on the road.
DougDG and SPRay - glad to hear everything came out ok
V8 - for $5 more they sold us a new master cylinder w/ reservoir. Was a no brainer there. I've seen poor results from reman-ed Al cylinders. I imagine too much material is lost in the rebuilding process.
Didn't do much car work on my week off, but found yet another piece of sheet metal from the van that needs to be cleaned and painted. They just seem to keep coming.
My new friend seemed to do ok while I was @ work. He just needs to be kept misted every few days. Did I tell you guys that I now have an African Emperor scorpion as a roomate? My landlord (who mists him when I'm gone) calls him 'Clawde'. Of course, I don't do anything normal.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill........
It is cloudy and 28 degrees. Maybe a little snow later.
Today is a busy day. I have a lot of things to work on. Not much else new here.
Breakfast as usual.
Y'all have a great Thursday.
Chuck
Morning. Chuck, you didn't load enough "powder" in the snow cannon. Snowed from about 5 AM in Roseyville till 8:30. Started so fine you couldn't see it except through the streetlight. Then flakes got bigger. Nothing but wet ground here as above freezing but pretty. 15 miles west, grassy areas covered. Turning fair my noon.
Got a Mayor's meeting with new Town Atty. Hope to get into train box.
Hope CA stops burning. Blizzards out in the upper mid USA.
Have a good one.
Good Morning! 36 and overcast Down the Jersey Shore!
The good news is that Doray is coming home after 12 today. PT 3 x a week as an outpatient.
Chief: Good Luck with the meds.
Bob: Old vehicles are never ending!
Enjoy the Day!
Aloha. Wife slipped and fell in our icy driveway that i just salted the day before. Too cold for it to work I guess. Seems like everyone is doing that this year. I am jealous of the Cali weather. She felt better today and went off to work. I have a few meals to arrange - my meal plans always seem to involve ice cream and chocolate sauce. And bacon. I'll work on the driveway some more later. Good news about Doray! Hope Clawde has a great day too, Bob!

Hey Guys,
Keep Ray in thoughts today, I'm pretty certain his house is within 1/2 mile of the evacuation area for the fire in Glendora.
Mornin' FellasDougM - Hope all is OK with MrsM!Ray - Praying you don't get impacted by the fires!HudsonJohn - What happened to the Mrs? Hope all is OK.----Just saw on Lionel's website that they are releasing the Legacy Protocols for other vendors to incorporate The Legacy Control System. I wonder if this means we will see upgrade boards being made available like what ERR did with TMCC... One can only hope!

Buckeye, Seems like the snow left as fast as it came.
With the Soo Locks closed I heard they are running extra taconite from Escanaba. Must be some trains pounding the rails to get it there. Interlake had two 1000 footers there yesterday. The Indiana mills must be hard up for taconite.
Brent, John's wife had a replacement and has been recovering.
Prayers for those who need them.

Afternoon fellas and gals: Hey John; Will try to make Feb 9 meet at Wayne. Hey Chief; Bronx bums will fold just like those houses in Raleigh! Hey MichRR; Wow! How lucky can you get! Swell space for the layout. Hey Laz; My black powder story: Years ago I had a .45 cal. black powder pistol. It was early fall; nice and dry. We waited for deer season to begin. Practice seemed like a good idea. Well, when I fired the, pistol sparks flew out of the barrel and started a brush fire that took me two hours to put out! End of story, end of black powder era. later.
Think good thoughts, do good deeds!
Dood, we'll see. NY Yankees all the way.
Charlie and Buckeye, CBS news featured the US Coast Guard and their ice breakers on Lake MI. Showed the big cargo ships full of ore too. During the extreme cold, deck hands only pull 10 minute shifts outside. Great service.
Sunny and warmer but still chilly.
Prayers to protect Ray and his house.
I love to read about positive medical outcomes. Ray, DougDG, Chief, HudsonJohn's Doray. Close call, DougM.....glad Kelly is ok. Later, gang. Jack.
Good afternoon all,
I woke up this morning to the sound of helicopters flying over my house before 7:00AM. Thought to my self, what kind of yahoo is flying low over bedroom community this early. Never occured to me that a fire was going on. Then I noticed that my bedroom window that faces the foothills was all lit up behind the drapes. I thought that was strange since the sun comes up in a different direction. I opened up the drapes and wow!!! The whole foothill in front of my house was on fire and there was not a fire engine in sight. Pretty scary for a few minutes. The fire fighters were on it pretty fast with all kinds of resources. They evacuated everybody North of Sierra Madre Ave just a few blocks North of me. I was watching for burning embers most of the morning but all we got so far was a lot of smoke and ashes. I have stayed in the house all day because of my COPD and bad air outside. The local police have arrested three suspects, one of which admitted having a campfire get away from them and started the fire. All three are being held now in the Glendora jail on $20K bail. It is illegal to have a fire where they were. The helicopters are still flying back and fourth in front of my house on the way to the next town West of us where the fire is now. They are getting water to the East of me and taking it to the West. At least two houses were destroyed this morning. One of them was the Singer mansion which was 11,000 sq.ft. I understand it was owned by the same family of Singer sewing machine fame. It was higher up in the foothills. One of our friends from church was probably evacuated this morning but have not talked to her yet. Thanks to all of you who expressed concern for our welfare. D. Baker called me this morning and we had a good chat. He said he could see the smoke from many miles away. Also got a call from my friend Larry South of me offering a place to stay if we had to leave. That was appreciated. I think we are out of danger now but they are still mopping up the fire to the West of us.
Ray SP......I am glad you are ok. The fire is receiving heavy coverage here. Far too close for comfort for you. I take it that the fire passed you to your North, missing you by a veritable eyelash, and is burning to your West. I hope you are out of harms way and the situation stays that way. Jack.
Ray so glad to hear your safe so far anyway and it sounds like its going to be okay for you. Prayers to all out there even the dumb dumbs as now there life will change for ever because not knowing/caring they have no idea what there in for and I would never want to be in there shoe's.
Afternoon all well evening I guess lol today has been a blur as things kicked in about 2:30 this morning with me and my state of mind was suppose to go to work but that never happened. I might be moving my retirement up to about 7th of February.
Added more people to 2 of my NYC passenger cars have one to go will do that tomorrow then have more people coming in so will start on the PRR cars after they come in. Only have 4 cars there that need people so will need like 1 1/3 packs but it will give me more people for down the road or might just use one pack will see how it looks and if I want to buy another pack.
Well will talk to you all later
By the way anybody been in contact with Joe Demay ? (USAF Joe)

RaySP....Glad you are safe. I have seen wildfire flames from a distance in Kentucky and it scares me.
Hi CTT pot people. Didn't get a chance to check in for a few months. So I thought I would just say Hi!
I hope your all well and been having fun at what ever is going on, with good health and love from friends and family.
Yesterday I worked for the first time in months. Took a trip to Milwaukee to pick up a program car.Anyhow 9.5 hours and 374 miles later I was back. Took us 2+ hours too find 7 cars in the auction lot. It was because of all of the snow they parked them wherever they could, but did not mark where they were, and to top that off one they locked the keys in one of them and had already mailed the spare key to Marseilles. I drove a new Equinox home, Okay ride. Oh well it was cold anyhow I got a free dinner at Culvers out of the deal too.I had my BP checked before I went in and it was higher now that I am on meds than it was before. 170/90. This morning it is better at 140/80The new stereo I ordered for the shed is listed as out for delivery today so the shed will have tunes again. You guys be safe and have a good one.

Kev, From The North Bluff Above Marseilles IL.
Seems to be a day for close calls. My older daughter avoided a traffic incident by the grace of God, but her husband was not so lucky. He is ok except for a sore knee, but his pickup truck came out on the short side of a discussion with a semi-trailer in a separate incident. Again, both are mostly ok, but events could have left us caring for four orphaned grandchildren. Life is odd that way. One moment you are here and the next you could be gone. My day was quiet at work and home. I hope everyone has a good day.
Good night all. Chilly.
Doug M., glad Wifey is better from fall on ice.
Mike, glad Daughter is OK and SIL only has knee injury.
Sorry RT is not doing good. Prayers.
Dennis, not in favor of the "stuff".
See Shake and Bake is getting better.
Kev, take it easy with the BP. Mine was 111 over 57 yesterday morning at Dr.'s ofc. Actually sounds a little low. Great job on the layout. At least you dug your way out from all the snow and cold.
Ray, sure is great you are OK.
John H., we got to get those NY Yankees going this year.
Brent, need a "kids" report.
Guess LAZ has not bagged the "big one" this year.
Jack, you thawed our yet?
Sleep tight all.
Buckeye & LAZ...........TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Morning. Sunny and cold but as Spanky says, not like before. Yes, tomorrow will be rather chilly and next week too.
TGIF [what is that?] Friday. What? Us retirees don't know Friday.
Off to eye Dr. [12 months checkup]. Then later, movie [Lone Survivor] with Frankie.
Have a great day.
GOOD MORNIN' Y'ALL FROM SUNNY TAXACHUSETTS.
My big news was that my little granddaughter got a lead role in her school play. Victoria also was asked to sing the National Anthem at her school's basketball game, which I (was mandated) videotaped.......she didn't miss a note!!! Tough song, especially the highs, but she nailed it! I was able to get it downloaded and sent the file to my daughter and son in law. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the video. "Wow, no obstructions, no camera shake, great zoom in on her!!!" Now the same "everyone" want me to video more events......
Jack.
