Good evening all,
Quiet day at work. Busy evening wrapping up details from the Friday Night game.
Mike C. from Indiana
Good afternoon all,
Went to the dentist this morning to find out what has been bugging me for the last few days. It turned out to be a canker sore that my lower partial was hitting. He put some medication on it and told me to lay off crunchy food for a while. Feels better now.
We all went out to eat last night and decided to have breakfast for dinner. I ordered the "Farmer Breakfast". Well let me tell you, I ain't no farmer. I couldnt eat it all. Took some home. It was a piece of ham with the bone in about as big as my plate plus three eggs, hash browns and a pancake as big as a trash can lid.
Went to TTOS meet yesterday but did not buy anything. I thought about two items but didn't buy. One was a Railking Scale AS616 Diesel in C&O paint for $160. The other was a U.P. Railking Scale RS3 for $150. Both were proto 2. Prices seemed low enough but don't know what the engines sold for new. Need to check it out.
Took me a long time to get on the net this morning. Had to boot the computer a couple of times.
Brent, hope your dad is OK.
Spent a little time in the train room this morning before it got hot. Ran my N&W Y6B and ACL E6's. No pile ups.

Morning All!
Been busy!
Lots of leg exercises to do daily, also have a semi- big project been working on. Have about 230 individual train herald files (jpg) printing each one out on adhesive backed media. Going to put them up in the train room (eventually) near the ceiling. Each herald is on a 4.5" square. I print 2 per sheet, then cut to size.
Also, been working on a jig saw puzzle, I am exceptionally slow at those things. Finally got it together, (with Kay's help) last night! Puzzle has 750 pieces, ours 749! Sure, like Pat's idea of making them. And, my FIL has a scroll saw I could have as well! (Maybe when I get rid of a cast.)
A good friend of mine sent me some train videos, so been watching them as well. And they dont go out of date. Need to do a catalog of the library I have. Would be interesting to see, especially since many times sets are released with many videos bundled together. Im sure there are many duplicates! Good idea, but I get distracted and end up just watching them instead!
Bob, came over 1 night last week, we talked and watched a couple videos of Cass Mtn. It was nice of him to come by, especially knowing we wouldnt get out to the train room. Had a good visit. He did pose a interesting question, regarding a problem he was having. Think I will put a new thread up for it.
Don't know of any Dr appts this week, YET anyway. May have to schedule a dentist appt., think I may have a infection developing, treating it with Listerine, might be lucky and it goes away. The VA sent me an appt slip for an appt to have sutures removed. I appreciate their desire to improve their service, but this is a little over the top. Since I don't have any to be removed.
And finally, the most demanding part of my day is keeping Kay busy. She has an over whelming desire and natural affinity for nurturing and helping. So maintaining a constant request and needs list is very taxing.
Got to get going, (need to let Kay know the pool needs water.)
Later

Joe and Doug - Dad is doing good. He has all of his memory back except the fall itself. Just sore and tight, which will go away in a week or so. He has a chip out of one of his vertebrae, but that too will heal in about 2 - 3 weeks. He was darned lucky it wasn't worse.Christina is back to her 'normal' self... 'normal' for a two-year old.Me - I can hardly talk, am weak, tired, and bit drained of energy. Just have to take it easy the next few days...Joe - I think I got a LinkedIn request from you... you're the only Air Force guy I know so I accepted... hopefully it was you! LOL!

Aloha from a steamy Chicago. Had a nice, quiet weekend with a nice play based on the movie '9 to 5' last night. Talked to some tree removers who are coming this week to get rid of the half-down tree and brush. Also taking advantage of the local pavers to get the driveway re-asphalted (if that's a thing) before winter. I'll cut the grass when the tree is gone. It's getting long but , inspired by Jack, I'm priding myself in making the neighbor's feel good about their grass in comparison. (It is probably fortunate my bride leaves for work in the dark and doesn't look at it closely.).I miss Jake Peavy. He was a good White Sock! The Bears did well this weekend.Chief, it would be cool to see turkeys out in the 'wild' - still waiting after 6 weeks for my FOID card.Brent, hope your dad recovers swiftly.Joe, wow, Australia would be fun to visit. Mike, I could go broke at Half-Price Books.

Konbanwa,
I had a pretty busy day at work today, although most of it was meetings and briefings. The five-mile run this morning was not that much fun as it is still humid out here. The rest of my week will be busy as I have much to get done as I prepare for a six-week work trip to Rhode Island. It's time for bed now.
Brent - I hope you, your daughter, and your father are feeling better.
Sayonara,
Joe
Morning. Wiley [Yorkie] to the groomer in neighboring town. Did get to the biscuit place for a fried tenderloin biscuit. Lunch with BB&T manager and then County Commissioners' work session. We are being recommended for a grant to complete a tail system.
Everyone have a great week. My is busy right up to Sunday. Next week the same.
Dennis W., Pam was saying how she wished she lived closer to Kim. She really liked the visit with her. Maybe a visit in the future. A trip next year to the Gulf Coast for all of us to hang out.
Had a chat with RT last night. Had to drop off though as rifles to clean.
Later.

Ugh what a wasted weekend!!!!Friday night Christina and I got a stomach virus and spent the night between bathrooms (me) and bedrooms (her). Never did so much laundry between 1:30am and 3:30am! TheQ took it all in stride and never raised her voice or threw anything at me! We did get the dry cleaning to the cleaner yesterday morning (been wanting to get that done since February), but that resulted in having to clean the backseat of my car and Christina's carseat. Then it was home to rest and watch some football, then in the evening we went to run some ehrands (no further stomach problems), ended up at IHop for dinner/breakfast, then to the warehouse store. Then home. This morning we cleaned the house and after vacuuming I ran the carpet cleaner over some spots and the stairs. Then I FINALLY got the yard mowed... then sat down to watch Tennesee play football, the other team that was supposed to play evidently did not get the message. Then it was off to FiL's...I am not officially beat.OH - my father was clearing some downed trees in his backyard on Friday, after he was done and he was headed up the hill he slipped and fell and he was sliding down the hill he smacked his head on a rock. He spent the night in the hospital for observation because he had a mild concusion and apparently bruised a few ribs. He got home late last night and is doing somewhat better today... although I am sure he had a hard time watching said football game today...
Evening all. Zeroed 6 of my rifles and 5 of my two buddies rifles. Now I have cleaned 6 rifles. Time for a snack. Have a good one.

So much for resting. Fixed brake light on wife's van. Fixed light in wife's bathroom. Watered plants. Got haircut from wife. Busy day. Should be quiet at work tomorrow.
Mornin' boys. Sunny & 79 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Going out sailing this afternoon.
Yesterday, Wifey and I ventured out to Catoctin Mtn Trains, and I picked up a Railking 19th Century B&O boxcar. It's kinda a spartan offering in blackish-blue, but the lettering appears correct from the archive photos. On the plus side, looks at home behind my LCCA General. On the - side, it's a little heavy, and causes start-up wheel slippage. Either I'm gonna have to figure out how to lighten up the freight cars, or I'm gonna have to reduce grades on the next layout.
Stay foamy.
Morning all. Off to Sunday School and then a Church meal. Later, shoot in all the rifles I had glass bedded and blocked. Have a good one.
Good Morning
Typical start to Western Fair here....kinda cool.....only 55 out right now going to 66 later on.
Got some things to catch up on at church later on,,,gotta get a move on...
Good Morning from Blueberryhill..............
It is a sunny and cool 67 degrees. Going up to 83 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I plan on doing a few chores and then going down to the train room for a couple of hours of running trains. Then, I can have lunch and take a nap. Baseball this afternoon. Go Tribe.
Cheerios on the dining car for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.

RedfireS197 Jack, I tried that program, but it just made things worse.
Jack,
I tried that program, but it just made things worse.
Over on KVRAudio forum there was a thread about gearholics...setting up a music studio in my garage has turned me into one...
Konnichiwa,
It's a great afternoon for relaxation today: it is overcast, cool, and rainy. We had Sunday school and church this morning. I read that PSU won yesterday, and there were also a couple of upsets in the college football world. The Yankees lost again to the Sox so I'm sure Jack is pleased. If I can keep my eyes open this afternoon I will do some reading.
SP Ray - I enjoy eating my salad after my main course. That is actually a common way for Europeans to eat their dinner. It makes sense for the reason you stated: the main entrée should be eaten while it's hot.
Mike C. - I'm glad the grandkids' game was able to cheer you up.
Older daughter's kids had their first soccer game ever today. The team won 11-2. The grandkids did well for their first game. Glad I went there instead of girls HS game. 25 shots on goal yielded one goal for a 1-1 tie. The team could/should be 4-3 and are 1-4-2 instead. Pathetic. Wife did arrange to have trees taken down yesterday. Glad to have that taken care of. Scored a lot of CD's and books at Half Priced Books today. Going to rest tomorrow.
Evenin' All !
Another hot one today, only got to 103*. Better than yesterday's 110*.
Fortunately most of our garage is at or below grond level so it does stay a good deal cooler than the ambient air. Spent a few hours in it this afternoon, started dragging out the halloween layout so I can get started on it. Got a lot going on between now and the end of October, the priority being the "BetterHalf's" surprise anniversary party on 10/12.
Well time to start thinking about some supper, later all.

Good morning all,
Just got on Coffee Pot and had to log in to post. Don't recall ever logging out. Do we have to do this all the time?
Just got one of those political E mails from a guy in our train club. Won't bore you with the details but I am getting weary wading through all this crap.
Hot weather still here. Getting old now. Dog days of summer must be here in September.
Looking forward to when I can run trains again. Think I am going to have to put in some kind of air conditioner in the garage next year.
TTOS train meet tomorrow. Think I will go as I missed the last one at TCA because I forgot.
Doug in Sandy Eggo, hope you are feeling better.
Same to you D. Baker
Went out to eat last night at one of those buffet places where you order your main entree and then go to the salad bar to serve yourself. Timing was perfect. I had just sat down with a big salad and the main entree arrived before I got there. Had to eat that first to keep it from getting cold and salad later. It was all good though because I was hungry.
Saw an article in the AARP magazine about former president Clinton's weight watching diet. It's all vegetables and no meat, not even chicken or fish. Had some kind of dish (probably from Africa) that I never heard of and a bunch of other stuff all prepared by the chef at some luxury appartment where he lives or works. Don't understand why the magazine would put out a diet like that to ordinary rubes like me. Can't even find the stuff. Hope they didn't have to pay for the article.
Mornin' boys. Mornin' English. Pretty & 77 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Ordered tix for Thomas/Strasburg for the 17th. Wifey wants to take a ride today...I'm thinking Thurmont. Steaks on the grill later, than NASCAR race.
V8Vega - Actually, I'm a big fan of the tablet concept. Obviously, the text book venders will have to receive their tribute, but look at the money we'll save on bookbags,pens,pencils...
dougnotta - No one's panicking in Crabtown. Secondary simply got gassed from an entire half of 20-second no-huddle. Ravens should have sent out their wide receivers to cover for a spell.
Afternoon all. Had early morning "summit" at Rolesville Elementary School. Was on early literacy. Had to give welcome. Then Wifey wanted to go to Lowe's.
Going to install [replace with new] two low voltage walkway lights she bought. Then mow grass.
This afternoon, we are taking a trip [about 60 miles one way] to place where we are having rehearsal dinner for Oldest wedding. Suppose to go and test the foods and wine. HUMMM
Have a good one.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill..................
It is a cold 46 degrees. Foggy. Going up to 82 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have an errand to run early and a few chores to do. Then, a project to work on. Lunch and a nice nap.
Cheerios for breakfast on the dining car.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
The weather was much cooler today which was quite nice. I’m the previous night’s rain and the continued overcast contributed to it. The majority of the day was spent relaxing and enjoying time with the family. The only exception was the hour or so I spent mowing the lawn. I did have a quick loop on the Tardis which allowed me to say hello to SJ and Brutus; I wish I could have got on sooner. We just returned from evening walk and are settling in to watch Rise of the Guardians. It looks like it could be an entertaining movie.
Jack – Even after the Yankees blew another lead, I’m still not worried. AF Ray summed up our situation well enough. Neither team is playing well right now.
dougdagrump – I hope you feel 100% soon.

A little hard to do. Alarm set. Does not take a code to disarm. Have to have a special device.
Next week, I have full schedule. Same for the next one too.
Good night.
Good games tonight. Terrible attendance. Work ok.
