Don, sounds like Knotts is falling apart without you.
Chief, good luck on the roto rooter job.
Buckeye, prayers for a good outcome on your procedure.
A little warmer here today but intense heat is over I think.
Went to church alone yesterday as wife was complaining of neck pain. It was better in the afternoon.
Train meet at TCA this weekend which is advertised as having an auction this month. Suppose to bring a quality item to sell. It would have to be something I really don't care about because those things never bring much cash unless it is very rare piece.

Morning all. Sunny, breezy and cool. Had to take Wiley to the Vet for a booster. Like children. Off to walk early today. Got a "scope" job tomorrow and the prep starts at 5 PM. Don't want any "accidents" on the sidewalk.
Shake and Bake is loosing parts one at time. All on the left side.
Buckeye, prayers and good luck.
Later.

Aloha. Nice quiet weekend. Hopefully nice sunny cool Fall-ish Monday. Jack, mmmmmmm SuperDawg! The Collins Foundations B-17 and P-51 were here a month ago. That B-17 crash a few years ago was unfortunate. But no one was badly hurt. http://www.flightjournal.com/blog/2011/06/14/ww-ii-b-17-crash-lands-in-oswego-illinois/Laz, Bears!

The Tigers lost yesterday as the tribe was winning. The magic number for a first place lock is down to 2.
But a bright spot yesterday was a win by the Lions. I watched the win but still got my short nap in.

Good Mornin' Agin' From Crystal Clear But Low 40s Cape Ann Taxachusetts,
We have Blueberry Hill weather here, and it is glorious.
The wifey and I have too much on the schedule. I was unable to get over to the Beverly airport to see the Collings Foundation WW II vintage aircraft that flew in here for the weekend. While I have attended many times in the past with family, I ran out of time. I keep thinking of the B17 that crashed and burned about 40 miles South of DougM, last year was it? There are only a few of these warhorses left that fly. The new puppy Raven is chewing up way too much time and attention.......worse than having a child. At least with a newborn you can put a diaper on them and they don't chew up everything they can get their teeth on.
RaySP......this neck thing with your wife has been hanging on for quite a while. I pray that it either clears up by itself or the Docs come up with something.
Boston sports fans have a lot to cheer about. Both the Red Sox and the Patriots are on fire. In baseball, Chuck's Indians are still in it and SJ's Tigers will win their Division. Fife's Orioles have collapsed at a most inopportune time, but they did very well this season.
I am off to do some yard work, put away some of the deck furniture for the Winter, and then make space for the air conditioning units in the basement. I don't want to hear the wifey harping me asking why we have to wait until the snow flies before we do this type of stuff.
Jack
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
BUCKEYE.....I hope this procedure works and that your doctors get this sorted out. Lord knows they have had enough time and opportunities. With your travel schedule, you must get paranoid about the next bout. Good luck.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill..........
It is a cold 44 degrees. Cloudy. Going up to 70 today with sunshine.
Today is a busy day. I have a bunch of things to do. Wife is running errands. Maybe I'll get done for lunch and a nap.
Buckeye......Good luck.
Dining car has Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.

8N, traditionally, pumpers are engines.....as they used be run by steam engines.
Ladders are either Truck or Ladder depending on where you're from. FDNY has Truck Companies, our Ladder is Ladder 41 ( our county station designation is 41).
Rescue Trucks are usually for heavy rescue like vehicle or building rescue. Blurring the lines a bit, ladder or truck companies might also have vehicle rescue capabilites. Our Engine 41 has that capability.
There are also quints, rescue/pumpers, tanker/pumpers....I could go on.,.....
I'm just back from a mutual aid call .... was at warehouse for water flow alarm. Fortunately, it was nothing.
Back to bed......zzzzzzz

The weather has been great this weekend. Sunny, mid-70's and low humidity. A line of storms rolled through on Friday and took out all of the high heat and humidity.
Putzed around the house and yard this weekend doing little odd jobs inside and yard work outside. One of the yard jobs was tree trimming. The resulting brush took two pickup loads to cart to the disposal site. I have reached the limit of my pole saw - nothing left that is in reach. Nothing left to hit me in the head while mowing, either. I suppose that if I use a ladder and the pole saw..... Wait! Somebody else on the forum tried a variation on that theme a while back and had some poor results.
I picked up a Playtime O gage set from the LHC. Looks to be an early 60's set sold by Sears and made by Marx. War bonnet diesels, three passenger cars and three freight cars. Original box in OK condition. We will use this one in the KATY Depot museum display that is being planned for next year.
Put an order in for a book on railroad signals while I was there too.
Speaking of the Depot, we got a call from the security service yesterday about 5pm saying that there was a fire alarm there, and the fire department had been called. We got there a few minutes later to see two fire trucks, and hear both the fire alarm and burglar alarm going off. Turns out it was a burned out pump motor on one of the ground source heating/cooling system burned up. There was a 'burp' in the power earlier in the afternoon, and I'm going to guess that the three phase motor tried to run on less than three phases. I'm glad that the fire department has a lock box on the building with a key. Got them in quicker, and saves me from fixing a door or a window.
After we got the alarms silenced, we went back to the car to wait for an all clear to go back into the building. While idly looking at the fire trucks, I noticed that the ladder truck was labeled as 'Truck #1',while the pumper was labeled 'Engine #1'. Can some of you forum members out there with fire department experience comment on naming conventions for various types of fire equipment?
All for now.
Good Evening!!
3 Ended up having a good day at the show yesterday. (Did not do the cup and pencil thing. Thought it could be considered disrespectful).
Had another quiet day today, watched Nascar and did some reading. Talked with one of the guys from Knotts today, things not so good. The small train not running, in the round house for annual maint, while Haunt mazes are on the track. Then the Goose has a bad bearing that was just discovered, requires machining from outside source. Then Steam Engine had a drift pin break in the outside #1 driver. Soo, the railroad is totally down today, and will be until the Goose is out of the Round House.
Tomorrow go to the VA, they are going to remove a couple of skin tags for a biospy (near the eye). Dont anticipate any issues.
Some nice photos in Photo Fun, & Layouts in CTT magazine.
Have a great day, and prayers for those that are in need.
Don
Good evening all,
Sunny. Mowed yard for first time in a few weeks. Talked to Lucas. Will see him next Saturday.
Mike C. from Indiana
Back from the lake where I thought we would see ice at the edges this morning.
On Saturday, Mrs. Buckeye and I visited Stockyard Express, a train store near Oberlin, OH. (West of Cleveland) This is a really great store with plenty to see on display. Not as much used equipment as I had hoped, but just about every MTH engine made is on display. Mrs. Buckeye judges train stores on two criteria; 1. Cleanliness, 2. Brightness of lighting. Stockyard Express received A's in both categories.
Wow, Vet buddy who hunts with me some has bought a used bank building in neighboring town. Converting it to a Vet practice. Got a text so went to see it while he was working on shrubs. Will take until Dec, but we will go there after that. He is a Yank for IL. A few good Yanks in the world I guess.
Dropped into Tractor Supply. Black Oil sunflower bird food $19.99 for 50 lbs. Home Depot and Lowes, almost $30. Also suet cakes 12 for $10. Good buys.
Wifey decorating the "Arch De Triumph" over front walkway for Halloween.
Like many on the right coast, we had rain overnight, sunshine by noon. Some friends from Fleetwood PA. drove up Friday and are at the NASCAR race today in Loudon NH. They stopped by for a visit yesterday afternoon and we basked in the sunlight for a few hours on the deck. chowing on cheese and fruit over a couple of brewskies. We had to take a pass joining them and other friends up in Salisbury MA for dinner since we concluded that leaving a puppy locked up in a crate unsupervised for a few hours was an unwise idea.....voracious chewers canget into trouble quickly. While our friends were pulling out, the grandchildrenarrived with the SIL while our daughter was out with girlfriends for dinner and a comedy show. I decided we would pick uphot dogs from a place called THE SCOTTY DOG here in Beverly. It is very much like SupeDawg in Chicago......maybe DougM is familiar with. It's a 1950s style drive in, and you are served at your car. The Scotty Dog is the only place I am aware of that serves Vienna brand hot dogs Dd in chili and fries and you have very happy grandkids. We were able to eat on the deck. and the warm breeze kept the mosquitoes at bay. The stars were out and a most enjoyable evening ensued with the little grandkids plaing (supervised) with puppy Raven. I got to bed late after cleaning up after they all went home. Back to the Patriots and Red Sox games with some NASCAR thrown in for good measure. The weather could not be more beautiful. Later gang. JACK.
Afternoon. Sunday School and then took Wifey to the Gro. 2 1/2 inches of rain last night. Sunny and breezy. Fall is here.
Pound the pavement later today.
Have a great week.
Good Sunday Morning........
Sunny and 61 now going up to 70 with bright sunshine..... cool breeze now. Rained last night, and was up at 2 for a turnpike rescue....car on its side. No one was injured. Still, didn't get home until 4.
6 day work week ended yesterday, picked up an Angel of Death and some tombstones from Michaels on the way home, less than $30. Cleaned up and boxed my loose train stuff and snuck it up into the attic which includes my newly acquired NJ Transit work train set....just off of layaway. Also put on layaway an MTH firehouse for Thanksgiving pickup.
Parents in NC til Thursday, been house shopping since the transportation issue has been solved. Later today, I'll run back to work to start the Reliant engine rebuild. After coffee, of course.
for those in need
Mornin' boys. Clearing and 57, after we received some much needed rain in the Mid-Atlantic region. Gonna head over to Arbutus for a train show in a little bit. Rearranged the Thomas table yesterday, for grandson. Football game on tv @ 1, and NASCAR @ 2. Speaking of, NASCAR hinting (again) that Dover may lose one of its dates, if so, I'll probably lose interest in NASCAR. O's are done this year.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill............
It is a cold and foggy 50 degrees. Going up to 65 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I will spend a few hours in the train room enjoying the new engine. I have a 10 car freight that it pulls with no effort.
Baseball this afternoon. Go Tribe.
Cheerios served on the dining car for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Sunday.
Grandkids lost 5-4 today. They were down 3-0, tied it up, and then scored one less goal in the 4th quarter. Grandson's team lost 7-1, but he was not there as he had 3 hours of CCD class today. Never heard of 3 hours on a Saturday 4 times a year for religious ed, but I guess there is something new every year. "My" soccer kids had mixed results today as the boys lost 2-0 and the girls managed only another tie 2-2 despite outshooting the other team by 2-1. Go figure. While in Indy today, scored some better tennis shoes. Went to Indiana Historical Society to view some exhibits there. Very relaxing day.
Good morning all,
Not much to report but weather is cooler, thankfully.
Don B., glad you are getting out. Good luck getting the arm cast off soon.
Jack, nice to hear about your new pup.
Chief, good work on the walking. Sounds like those dogs are not used to long hauls.
Our adult son who lives with us is off on another adventure this weekend. He flew to Austin Texas for some kind of car race. Made some spaghetti while he is gone account he can't eat tomato sauce when he is here.
Wife is managing her neck pains with excercise and Tylenol but doctor did not order anymore therapy. Probably because medicare won't allow it. However he did not recommed any extra even if we pay for it.
Friend Larry is off on another week long vacation trip also.
Have a good weekend,
Morning all. Rainy. Looked at radar and there was a lull right now. Pam and I hit the park trail [paved]. This time we took Wiley [the terrorist] and Lucy. After a little while, Lucy remembered the routine and stop trying to pull away and smell every squirrel "trail". Wiley wanted to attack everything and strange dogs. Pam did a round and a half and went home. Lucy and I did two rounds which is about 2 miles. I brought her home as she was slowing and was not use to the "march".
Shake and Bake calls while I am climbing "cardiac hill". Told him I would call later. Think he is going to the outside "show" today in his wheelchair and put on his Vietnam Vet hat. Also will be holding a tin cup and a hand full of pencils. You know those West Coast 60's hippies. Anything to make a buck.
Off to the Store [HH] and maybe Mrs. Edna's [haven't been in months].
Now for a shower.
Have a great weekend.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill.............
It is a dark and rainy 70 degrees. Looks like all day at 78 degrees.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and then, I can relax and do some reading. Lunch and a nap, later.
Usual breakfast on the dining car.
Y'all have a great Saturday.
Good Evening!
Sure have learned a lot from Jack's posts and interesting!
Going to go to a "show" tomorrow morning, only 5 hours. Will be great to get out!
I am really impressed with the Award below that the Chief received!! That is great.
ChiefEagles One of my Town Councilman's GrandDaughter graduated in visual arts. She made this plaque that was presented to me saying I am the main promoter of Rolesville. Exactly the way I was dressed last November. Main Street Park is in the background.

Saw "We're the Millers". Only thing in common with that movie and the type D. Weimer makes is that the importance of family is somewhat emphasized, albeit in radically different ways. Work was ok. Humid here.
fifedog Ok, why did I immediately think of SOUTH PARK?

Speaking of hot dogs, the first Saturday in November is Fall Festival in Rolesville. Instead of National Night Out, our PD does free hot dogs to anyone who comes. Since it is on Main Street, attracts a lot of people and Town residents. One of my Town Councilman's GrandDaughter graduated in visual arts. She made this plaque that was presented to me saying I am the main promoter of Rolesville.
