I post here due to the friendships I have made and will make. Saw all 3 kids on the same day for the first time in forever. Both sets of grandkids had games and both lost. "My" soccer girls got pounded as well. Had a nice day on Indiana 58 today and got the latest Trains mag.

Getting ready for TCA train meet today. Took walk this morning and it is was a bit cool. How can it be 55 overnight and going up to 91 in the day. Crazly weather.
Don, glad you are getting around the house better. Maybe the thumb will get more flexible with therapy. Good news about the leg though.

Driver license renewal due next Wednesday. Need to brush up in case there are rules changes. Nothing like study from the railroad rulebook however. That thing was like a phone book thanks to the eggheads who wrote it. It got bigger every year to justify their jobs. Old rule books were small things you could stick in your back pocket and content still had most of what you need to know today to be safe.
Coffee Pot does seem to be a lot lighter this month. Seems like by the time the West Coasters wake up, most of the posting in the Eastern part of the country has already been done. Our entries probably don't get read until the next day. Not a problem at least for me.
Story in today's paper about tearing down Ira Gershwin's house in Beverly Hills. Seems like they are demolishing a lot of places where famous folks lived. The city of Beverly Hills has been trying to preserve some of the history over there. The current crop of Tycoons just want the land to build even bigger and different types of houses. I don't think the tourist want to see new construction though. They would rather see where so and so lived.

It is a cold 50 degrees. Going up to 76 today with sunshine.

Mornin' boys. Whoa, woke up too dang early; casualty of daywork. Fifey's left paw cramping up this morning; casualty of working the sheets on the yatchet. Gonna give the Durango its first oil change, then wash her up.
Wonderful day at the farm. Deer stands are OK and feeders great. Put the cages under feeders and now squirrels can't get to corn on top of spinner and under funnel. That stops them from stealing corn except what is on the ground. Got to move one stand when thinner leaves Monday. Adding a box stand in new thinned area too. Nice deer on cameras. No ticks [this is twice now]. Forgot to spray today. Must have drown in big rains down there. Now fire ants popping up.

Had a really good day! Actually went upstairs! Had to "butt bump" going up and coming back down. But wasn't bad at all. First time been up there in over 6 weeks. Spent a lot of time working on the computer up there, developing a backup capability for the one downstairs. Did Well.
Did realize something not so great. When the Dr. had my cast taken off, he told me two things; First my leg was doing great and I can expect FULL recovery with it! That was absolutely terrific, I had him explain it to me twice! Especially considering all the pieces and hardware. (Posted a picture a couple pages back.) Then the BAD news..... That the way my thumb healed, that I would probably NOT gain full range of motion. Specifically when grasping, like a can, or bottle. All depends on the relative diameter. So possibly will only be a single handed drinker in the future. Have to ensure it is part of my therapy program.
Going to go to the Swap Meet tomorrow, should see a lot of old friends and customers. Maybe even do some shopping myself.

Hmmm, this is not good when there are only 21 pages on the pot at the end of the month. All sorts of news. Indy car will race on road course at IMS in early May. Will be a great race to take grandkids to introduce them to the sport. Not as big a crowd and not as long a race. Wife will even go to this one. Soccer kids got the worst draws possible for their sectionals. Both could be one and done again this year. Sold 3 old wood ladders to a quilt shop today for them to use as quilt racks. Made some money and got rid of something I no longer needed (or trusted to use). Wife and I spent 2 hours at tile and flooring place selecting stuff for the bathroom. I think we are good to go as soon as we get quote from plumber.

Got about 75 % of all the flowers cleaned up. Took a big truckload to compost center. Next week I go salmon fishing in Pulaski NY for Tuesday- friday. Can't wait fore I am the Salmon King from 2012 and have to defend my crown. I beat BRO last year in amount hooked and landed. Wife wants another one for the grill so gonna try and bring one back.
Played GOLF last nite and won by one stroke. Felt good swinging the club.

Got done with all I could work on today so I am taking tomorrow off. Watched the boys play a stellar game in a 2-0 loss. The boys are overachieving with little talent while the girls are underwhelming with a plethora of talent as they eked out a tie against a very beatable team on the road. Sometimes you have to shake your head.

Laz......You would like Ohio where instead of running 10 miles in the mountains you could hit 50 in NW Ohio and be only 3 hours from the Bears and 3 hours from the Indians.
Home to leave again. Started meeting at 7 AM and then back to Town Hall. Home to gobble down a few protein things. Off to get donations for family night movie end of OCT. To Wake Forest to Lowe's and by Oldest's work to drop off something. Home to do 2 1/2 miles. Dressed again to go to HS football game. Who know when I will get home.
Off tomorrow morning to the farms down east. Maybe rest Sat. May go to the lake house and stay for days. If not Sat., Sunday.

Good news! My sister in Virginia has finally come to her own home after three months in hospital or nursing facility. BIL says she has been started on solid food again. He also said that screenings reveal that healing has occured internally thereby negating the need for additional surgery. She is still too weak to take phone calls yet but BIL says she will call me ASAP and give me the whole story. Thank all of you for the many prayers and good thoughts.

We had a few sprinkles over night. Nothing big but just enough to mess up the car.
Cool today but heating up by the weekend. Also have TCA meet on Saturday which will include an auction if anyone brings anything to sell. TCA is very small here on the West Coast compared to the National organization We all went out to N and Out Burger last night and I had a double double. Have to walk that off today.
