Don, sorry to hear about the thumb break.  You needed another cast like a job with Buckeye as a bridge inspector.  With friends like him, who needs enemies?

Chief's vehicle got blown around because of all the hot air inside making it lighter than air.

Need to give my old 87 Buick a workout today to charge up battery and make tires round.  They say I need a new set of tires because they are rotting out.  Probably have less than 500 miles on them.. Anyway  they want $300 for a new set.  Maybe I can find some used ones because the car doesn't get driven much.

V8 Dennis, What happens to all the simi automatic rifles already owned by somebody if they are banned?  Do they have to surrender them?  Doesn't sound right.

later,

Ray

Dragon Natural Speak get my vote as well. Amazing how after one run through it picks up your voice inflections and prints out your message. I use it because I can talk a lot faster than I can type!

Morning all.  Early meeting and now to mow grass [its not raining right now].  Got caught in a pressure washer storm in Raleigh yesterday evening.  One down burst of wind actually shook the 4 Runner several times.

Good Evening!

Buckeye, sorry for the delay on the paperwork.  Wanted to clear up Dr visit first.

Reviewed leg wound, healing well, another week before stitches removed and permanent cast.  HOWEVER, DR discovered left thumb is broken.  Initial swelling prevented brake from showing up on initial x-ray.  So now left arm, and right leg casted. Grumpy

So will have to put bridge inspecting on hold.  Takes long time to type also.

Paid this guy a "good will" visit and he tried to make fun of me after I got back.  Told you, don't mess with Mother Nature and the Chief. Whistling

Hope all are doing OK.  Prayers for those who need them.

Don --

You will be surprised how "proficient" you become typing with one hand Yes  Two years ago when I ran my hand through the table saw I was amazed at how good I got at typing with one, I hated it at first but improved dramatically.  Hoping for your steady healing.

Mornin' Fellas

Don - OUCH!!! Look into a copy of Dragon Natural Speak. It is a voice recognition software that people with disabilities use to control their computers. I have used it in the past for development testing purposes at SSA. That was 5 years ago so it is probably much better now (was pretty decent then).

Building a new application here at work and using technologies and techniques I have not used in the past. Learning a lot, but the development is slow - now 3 days behind schedule (that I did not come up with). Oh well.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill..............

It is a cloudy 64 degrees. Going up to 82 today with thunderstorms later.

Today is a busy day. Wife is grocery shopping this morning. I have some chores to do and a project to finish. Then, we can put all the groceries away.

Our large store that we usually shop at has raised all it's food prices a lot.  They have milk @ $4.19 a gallon. A little local store has the same grade milk for $2.09 a gallon. I guess the TV ads cost a lot of money.  That means that we have to shop at a lot of stores to save money.

Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.

Y'all have a great Thursday.

Konnichiwa,

I have a few minutes this afternoon to post from work as things have been slow today.  I don't see anything major happening the rest of the day so that means I could leave a bit early.  I would like to get home and spend some more time with the kids as I have a couple of work trips coming up in September.

DJ Spanky - I hope the boys feel better soon.

SP Ray - That's good news about your sister.

Mike C. - I know the joys and frustrations of coaching kids, and I know how important it is to be positive for the kids.  Keep trying, and telling them they can win; they might surprise you.

Don - Tough break (pun intended).  Sorry, I couldn't resist.  I hope you're able to relax and heal quickly.

No worries RT.  Thanks again.

Joe

Dear Don,

Where is your paper work? Oh, well let's get started on the credit check.  This is how it works.  Send one check in the amount of $10,000 to Chuck, another $10,000 check to anyone you choose that lives east of the Mississippi and posts on the POT, and one to Buckeye Inspection Services and Enterprises, Inc by certified U.S. mail.  We will cash these checks and if they don't bounce you have passed the credit check and we can hire you for $7.78 per hour

Pat I think a bunch of us thought the black hole swallowed you up. Good to see you back.

Hey Brent did you ever get a girls train set for your daughter? I know you where going back and forth between the Williams and Lionel and leaning toward the Lionel one very heavy.

I finally bought a Williams back about 6 months ago and the only plus I see is the tender is 12 wheel tender but then its not a Lionel either lol.

Joe Package went out today. Had to get to the post office with it when they were opened.

Not to much else going on here today hope all had a good day.

Good evening all,

Joe, thanks for the positive comment.  They and the boys will both lose Thursday, but both should win on Saturday.  Let's put it this way.  If the girls do not win Saturday, they will not win a game all season long.  The boys might have a more difficult time.  Work was quiet.  Traffic was a bear.   Nice standard gauge video on the CTT magazine preview.

Good morning all,

Got some better news this morning about my sister in hospital in Virginia.  She is out of ICU now and back in a regular room.  Her breathing has improved and test are coming back negative on infection.  They took out the port that was causing the infection and did something different.  Praise the Lord!  Thanks for the prayers.

Afternoon fellas

Christina continues to view herself as a Ping-Pong ball! She was stepping off a railroad tie border around the playground onto the concrete walk... she apparently tripped on a piece of mulch and down she went (good bump on her head) - I am beginning to understand why she likes her aunt (my older sister) so much - they are both klutzes to the Nth degree! Laugh They said they were able to put ice on it for 10 - 15 minutes but then she was having nothing more to do with it and was back to playing!

Matthew is trying to crawl now! He pushes himself along with his feet while his belly is on the ground - quite comical to witness (have to try to get some video of it to use as blackmail when he gets older). He still doesn't like to sit up, lounger ALL the way!

Spank - I wouldn't get to upset about the wife and MiL. They probably over looked calling you. I would explain to them how worried you were that something happened to them and the kids... now if it happens again... Whistling

Chief - smart soldier!

Buckeye must be serious about hiring Don... no request for payment yet! Laugh

Aloha from a sunny and hot Chicago. Not too many 90 degree days this year. I wrapped up class last night and just have to do the same with my online ones. The bride had a good first day at the job with the kids at the school. Looks like meetings most of the day.

Chief, Remington reps mentioned that very thing - expanding, keeping the plant in the US, consolidating closer to HQ - at their open house at our local range recently.

Konbanwa,

I had a quick 2-mile run this morning followed by a brief weight room workout.  I had a light day at work and left a bit early for an optometry appointment.  It was just a routine exam, but the optometrist decided to dilate my eyes which made the remainder of the afternoon less enjoyable.  We just ate some gluten-free pizza for dinner and are now relaxing.  I would like to read the paper, but I don’t think my eyes are fully back to normal yet.

Off to bed early [for me].  Wifey has to leave by 6:30 AM to take Great-niece to elementary school.  Yes, helping another one of SIL's kids [grown ones].  BTW: Soldier Boy Nephew decided to not buy car.  Going to wait and save his $$$$ until he can put more down.  Better decision than the one he was buying [which was a great deal].  Told him to go up to Ft. Drum NY and get a Yankee girl friend with a car.  They love to drive REB guys around. Whistling

Sleep tight.

PS: read in a gun magazine, Remington Arms is moving from NY to one of their NC plants [expanding].  Just checked their site and headquarters in Madison NC [that is the location]. Yes

]Don, good luck on the bridge inspections.

Slow day today.  Ran trains a little this morning but cleared out when it got hot.  Took wife to dentist office and picked her up when done.

Bought a bag of fish sticks at Costco recently and heated up first batch in oven.  Tried some in microwave for lunch today and they weren't bad with a little vinegar and salt and some left over fries.

Took swim tonight and just got out of pool.  We decided to eat out at local Mexican place.

Got some positve news about my sister in Virginia today.  They found out that the infection she has came from the medical port they have attached to her for administering things.  Not too happy about that but glad they figured it out.  Hope she improves now.

Chief, nice of you to get a car lined up for Pam's nephew.

Happy birthday Pam!CakeHappy B-Day

BUSY DAY!!!!!!

Wifey's B'day.  She forgot to tell me that the dogs were scheduled for the groomer.  Groomer calls at 8:45 and says they were suppose to be there at 7:30.  Rush Rush.  Then they come to patch walls and ceiling in old train room upstairs. [Done now and a great job]

Off to BB&T to help Pam's nephew [soldier boy] purchase his first vehicle.  One that his Mom [SIL] and him had picked out was a "bomber".  They were over pricing by 2K.  Went to a dealer friend of mine.  Got him a decent car within his price range.  Will go finish deal [paper signing] tomorrow AM.  Took Wifey to Olive Garden for a LUPPER.  Lunch/supper as we both had not eaten today.  "Ate the whole thing!!!!"  Plop plop fizz fizz.

Now possible trip to MIL's for ice cream and cake.

Just did smiley and got some crazy formula.

Later

PS: read in a gun magazine, Remington Arms in NY was leaving and coming to one of their plants [expanding] in NC.  Smart move. Thumbs Up

Dear Don,

Please send at least six references before further consideration.  We also will require you to submit your tax returns for the last 10 years and perform a California pee in a cup test.  Also we will arrange to have you fingerprinted at the California Highway Patrol.  I assume they already know you.

We hope to see you in Ohio this Thursday, so hurry up and get everything done.  Transportation and lodging costs are not part of this agreement.  Neither is food, but you do get a credit for giving blood.

Buckeye

PS. Go ahead and send in the Chief's name as a reference and see how far that will get you.  Whistling
