I'm back, It's been a while, think July was the busiest month of my life, either that or I am a lot slower than I used to be, on second thought that is probably it.

Hope everyone is doing well, I see that Don is still trying to recover from the Chief's visit.  Think he needs a a trip East one of these Aprils or Octobers to relax.

All take care,

John

Hopefully tomorrow will get a chance to try the new lawnmower.

Time for dinner, so till later........

Oh, you might find interesting; I have been trying to get the neighbors to relax.  Every night since the Chief left there has been a demonstration of picket walkers, up and down the street.  Trying to get signatures to prevent any future occurrence of "Southern Dignitaries" from camping in back yards.  It seems during the Chiefs visit, (while sleeping on the cot on the patio) all the neighbors cats have suffered from time dementia affect.  They are all complaining that every hour on the hour their cats are either wanting outside (if in), or inside (if out).   One official that lives down the street required me to provide copies of the Chiefs trip itenary, to confirm that the "Coyote Attacks" weren't occurring during the time of the Chiefs visit.  (They suddenly stopped.)

Should be easy since the grass is only a 8' X 8' square.

That is because I'm not there snoring.

Town Board went great.

Ray, LAX, US Airways entrance and gates were really easy compared to some airports I've been through.

Sleep tight.

Frank, I can handle the airport, it's getting there from where I live that's the problem.

Got one better than Don, a live in son.  He drove last time.

Morning.  Sunny today.  Will mow and then off to the lake house for a night and mow.  Not much on the agenda today.

Doug M, good trip tomorrow.

Blown, mall, went on an errand yesterday.  Seems always a crowd.

Have a good one.

Aloha. Sunny and warm. Might be a nice day for a walk in Grant Park during lunch. I had a good class last night and a smooth train ride home. Even got to hear the Sox beat the Yanks at 10 pm. A win is rare this season. Couldn't get into the Messenger app so had this feeling the TARDIS passed overhead without seeing my beacon. Oh well. Going to the Threshing Bee in Sycamore tomorrow - to see all the steam tractors!

Good Morning

Dull and very muggy out here, expecting some 'excitement' here as well, high of 83 feeling like 99 later on.

I'm going off to the mall and get some walking in...having been remiss in my walking lately is no fun. Also this morning, get to go to vampire's and get more blood taken out of me. Hopefully everything will be clear...

Have a good day, everyone!!

Sad about the PA Town Hall shooting.  Why we have our Chief and Captain at every Board meeting.  Some remember my crazy neighbor who thought he was Tarzan.  In and out of mental facilities.  He has threaten to kill all the Rolesville Police and Me.  Doesn't have a gun but carries a big knife.  Really don't think he would do it but you never know.

I learned about this yesterday on another board that I frequent, one of the members lives a couple houses down from the town hall, and he had posted before about the shooter. This is truly a very sad occurrence. Not only for those he shot and those he wounded, but also for the shooter. His property was condemned by local authorities because his neighbors complained that he was using his property like a junk yard and he didn't have a working septic system. It is sad that a more congenial outcome could not be reached.

What shooting? I haven't watched TV all week.

Aloha. Sunny and maybe warming a bit form the 60s in Chicago. My long day with class tonight. Hope to figure out the Messenger thingie on the train home. Got some ideas to improve Ivor from staring at a passing UP freight.

Ray, glad your wife is OK after her fall.
Don B, I'm going to visit your Midwest equivalent - at Cedar Point next weekend. I love to ride the 'real' train.

Looking forward to seeing these this weekend:

Good Evening...

Basically was a good day here...I managed to get some of the plans put together..the fun part will be wiring management. We have something like 3 20 channel patchbays to muck with ...hopefully these will be the only ones needed...but we all know how that goes, roight?  :)

The floor is going to be fun too. I need to lift the floor up by a couple of inches to get some underpadding down for the drums...too much bass reflection in one area...  :-/

Well, better be off and getting some reading done...have a good night!!

Ray:  Just once did we have to go through LAX...I'm no more a fan of it than you be...

Good evening all,

Slow day here.  Took wife to orthopaedic doctor this morning for check up on neck problem and examined knee while there because of the fall she had on Sunday.  Told her to put a cold pack on the knee but no broken bones or other issues.  That's good!

Went out to dinner last night with recently widowed friend of ours.  Dinner was enjoyable.

No trains today.  Took a drive in my old Buick to keep the engine turning over and the tires round.  Took a look at nearby construction on the Gold Line Light Rail Line near us.  Former Santa Fe now BNSF is building a separate right of way between the end of Gold Line and the Miller Brewry in Irwindale which is the only customer on the line.  So that makes triple track between Glendora and Irwindale.  Eventually the line will go all the way to Claremont and to the Ontario International Airport but I don't think I will live long enough to see that and if I do won't care by then.

#2 adult son is due home tonight.  Called me from the Sacramento Airport about 2:30PM.  Had a two and one half hour layover flying home from Oregon.  Read in the paper today that Ontario Airport is still losing business as airlines devert more and more flights to L.A.  Partly because of economics and partly politics.  L.A. has control of the Ontario airport too and is letting it dry up.   Local folks in Ontario are trying to get control and be independent.  The whole thing stinks.  I hate going to L.A. to catch a plane.

Ray

Good Evening!

Sure been hectic around here.

Of course this is the busy season at Knotts.  And we have had quite a few issues with personnel availability.  (1 person on LOA for family health issues, another on a 3 week leave to celebrate a new daughter being born, another taking sons little league team to Coopersville for 2 weeks, another quit and moved over to Disneyland.)  So we are spread pretty thin, concerns beginning to grow over maintenance activities being rescheduled!  I've been working 40hrs +, was looking forward to a couple of days off, today & tomorrow.  Then last night I was called in for a 5am shift, so that shot today.  Tomorrow, should be OK, they don't want to have to pay "double time".  One more week and things should slow down.  After this week the small train goes on hiatus until Thanksgiving.  So that will provide some relief.  The weather has really been great though, actually a little cool for this time of the year.

Hopefully tomorrow will get a chance to try the new lawnmower.

Time for dinner, so till later........

Aloha from a cool and sunny Chicago. Had a nice if busy weekend - went to the County Fair, took the youngest to our local beach, moved a local family, browsed some antique shops and caught a play and dinner out with the bride, also managed to unexpectedly visit my favorite pub twice. Beer

Happy belated birthdays to Don and DJ's son. Cake
8ntruck, sorry for the loss of your kitty.
Dennis, glad your pup is doing better.
Mike C, there's always room for a layout, right? Even if it's temporary or built to build up and take down. Hope you can work something up.

Morning all.  Sunny and lower humidity [if possible in NC in the summer].  Actually feels good outside.

Busy day.  First Monday of the month.

Jon, sorry.  I use this big brown box that you look through this little hole in the top and push down this metal lever and hear the shutter click.  Load the film in the back in dark room.  Wink  There was one at Mother's that she had since 1946.  Come to think of it, where was it when we closed the house????  Like a few other things, the gremlins ate it.

Hope all have a great week.  Especially you workers.  Need to keep that SS going. Whistling

Later.
