88Lionroar, that Bill Dance video was great.  Still laughing.

Dougnota, hope you are feeling better by now.

We are getting a few showers this morning.  Not much but we'll take all we can get.

V8 Dennis, $100,000 per month for retirement for some civil service workers is unbelievable.  No one is worth that kind of money.

Wife goes back for more theraphy today.  Feeling a little better this morning.

Dinner with social group scheduled for Wednesday this week at a Mexican restaurant.  Most of the food is good but last time I got a chile relleno, they did not peel the burned part off the fire roasted chile pepper before adding to receipe.  Will avoid that next time.

later,

Ray

I like the one where Chief lends Buckeye his clothes and lets him ride upfront, they get to the beaver dam and Buckeye tells Chief "We're not gonna clear it!". One thing I will never understand - why don't Southerners turn the engine OFF before they pull the proppeller out of the water????

Been with my father most of the day. Breakfast at his place then out to the VA center at Fort Polk so I could file for an appointment there. Hopefully I'll be able to enroll there and maybe get something done about this foot of mine. All Medicaid seems to cover is the docs time to scratch his head. No new appointments until sometime in June. Well, it's a start. Then to Wal-Mart to pick up some items. I got two boxes of gauze pad, a couple rolls of tape and a bottle of 91% alcohol for the aforementioned foot. I also got a jar of Black Bean and White Corn salsa to go with a bag of tortilla chips I have. I also made up sixty invitations for a certain persons upcoming wedding. Not mine so don't even start celebrating.

Followed up today with ENT doc, MRI is normal (yeah, ok, I've haven't been normal in this lifetime...) was told to progress slowly, schedule PT to handle and see my neuro doc.  OK, that's progress, I guess...need to have the neuro doc schedule me now. Bang Head

OK, so here is the ALL MOPAR American made Reliant....(no Asian parts here):

It need 1 hubcap, some dash speakers and I replaced the radio with a nice Pioneer unit.  I have a matching  set of 6X9's from the Wagon and that's tomorrows project. Needs a good cleaning also.

Hello all

A little more cleanup around the house today. Ended up switching out the dresser w/ one from a guy who is moving out. A little taller, a little longer, and in better condition. And the 'price' was right. Found some old cat toys in the process.

Got the new camera in today. Battery is charged but it needs a memory card as they do not come w/ them. I guess a stop at the store tonight is in order.

Anj - now that looks like a real car. I like it. Ever since about 1990 everything looks like a Honda Accord and a dustbuster on wheels.

I saw some old fishing rods at the antique store/flea market and thought of you guys

Time to see if the Corvair parts are in.

Evenin' boys.  Overcast and 64 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Wifey and I are in the midst of vehicle shopping.  Front runners are the Chevy Traverse (her) and the Dodge Durango (him).  Other considerations are Grand Cherokee (too $), Ford Explorer (too boxy), Tahoe (too big & too $) and Suburban (way-way too big).  So far have driven the Tahoe, Traverse and Grand Cherokee.  The Traverse was by far the best experience.

88 - Who would steal a grill?  Start looking in the beds of old beat-up pickup trucks....  We stop them all the time.

sirjames - Alexis will be completely out of her brace in a week, and back to school around Memorial Day.  She is home-schooled in the meantime, by way of the lap-top and a head-set.

Fife,

Keeping the Angel going for Alexis.  One thing to consider about the Explorer is that is one of the models that Ford uses an aluminum hood.  That doesn't sound like a problem, but it can become a very big headache when it starts to corrode.  I am in that situation right now, and am scraping the $$ for an aftermarket fiberglass hood for the Mustang.  I wouldn't avoid the Explorer just for that, but thought it would be worth mentioning.  Nobody wants to work on an aluminum hood around here.

If you can get a Hemi in the Durango, go for it.Smile, Wink & Grin

BOC No I don't know of their maintenance history but they are a new offering and I thought they are nice. I would go drive one if you are looking for something like that. The nice part of my part time job, I get to drive all kinds of stuff and I did like these.

The temp is 71.

We headed west, picked up my cousin and his wife, then went to Battlecreek Mi. casino. A safe trip with good company but not a good casino day. It was fun anyway. Sounds like Alexis is getting better. good. We had Black Cherry ice cream but there's plenty of banilla...S.J.

Sunny and just under 70 today.

The AT&SF operating box car I won on e-bay a while back got here today.  I'm pretty happy with it, considering the low price I paid for it.

Anjdevil2 - I did the stress analysis for the wheels on your Reliant.  Was waaaay back in the day - I think it was the second project I worked on as an engineer.  We designed these wheels for the original K Car.  Yours looks like it might be a 2nd generation K car.

All for now.

AFRay, looks like you had a great ride over the weekend. Yes

Kev - Yea it's a good 15 minute ride. I remember years ago going with HudsonJohn and our other brother in law Dan when our oldest was around 3? So maybe 1985 +/-. When our ride was over we toured the caboose where moms and dads were taking pics of their youngest sitting up in the cupola. The kids were having a blast.

Good evening all,

It is cloudy in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s.  Long day at work, but good evening at home as wife and I started cleaning out attic.  Got rid of some stuff and marked some stuff for yard sale.  Did read all the posts, but not enough time to digest them all.  Kevin, Indycars put on a heck of a show yesterday with a last lap pass for the lead on the last turn.  Cannot wait for the 500.  Will be a wild one.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Been a busy day for me today and now I'm relieved it's time to sign off. I guess we found out last night that I truly can install a DCC decoder in my sleep! I hope nothing happens tonight.

See y'all tomorrow.

 Yes

Fife - Angel for Alexis' continued recovery and good luck on vehicle hunting.

anj - those were good cars. Had one as a co car years ago.

Ryan - hang in there!

The rain here is finally over for a few days. Over 6 inches here since Fri night. Before the extra 6 inches we were 8 in over last year. Was pretty cool today 54 on the truck thermometer but to hit 72 tomorrow and some sun!

Have a great evening all!

8N - Yep I believe it is a Gen II K car.... even Dad thinks its a great little car.  The sag in the rear is killin' me (it's an aesthetics thing...), but the rear spring replacement isn't that hard.  remove the shocks and jack up the car...that is simple.  And that is what I wanted, and simple vehicle that runs and drives with no issues.  Should get me 27-30 MPG...which is almost 9 MPG better than the Pulsar.

JimT - Thumbs Up on the ended job search...CONGAS!!!

Fife - The Durango and the Grand Cherokee share the same platform, so if you go with the Dodge/Ram, you can load it up for cheaper than the Grand.  I loved my Grand Cherokee ('96 model).  Road and drove well and always got 21 MPG no matter what...driving towing...same thing.  Good news on Alexis...my Princess did the home school her junior year.  Laptop and headphones......

Princess Birthday tomorrow, I'm so bummed i cant be there......I was supposed to be there Sunday....Really sucks....Ashamed.....planning a trip in June to make up for it, bit it won't be the same.

Off to bed I go....see ya tomorrow!

Flooding.  Thunder.  Small stream flood warning.  Its headed north to the lake house now.

Chief - Watch out with that flooding. We had record rainfall in April. Washed out a lot of roads and a few bridges. Some are still closed around here.

No train work tonight. Still working on yard. Next project is new storm door that I will be putting in,new handle on the main door, and paint front door area and a couple windows in the front of house.

All for now. Good night
