Mornin' boys.  Cloudy & 57 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Did "splash" the yatchet yesterday PirateYeah, but not without a little embarrassment.  Seems I neglected to clean out my raw water engine intake, which was sludge filled. Embarrassed  Anyway, she sure looks good back on the creek.  One of the ol' timers at the boatyard inquired about my old CSX jacket I was donning.  He retired from them, and was with B&O originally.  We had a nice talk about rails.  Also, we have a nice man from the Bronx, who travels back and forth 4 hours each weekend to work on the Beneteau he bought, right before Sandy.  Still so much damage up there.  Lots of folks want to replace their lost vessels, but not many places to keep them.

RockIsland - Thanks for the link.  Will get on that today.

CWFY (gotta get through next 2 nights...Sigh)

Cloudy, drizzle and 40's the last couple of days.

We had a pretty active thunder storm this morning while I was on the way to work this morning.  A card activated security turnstile has recently been installed to increase the security of the plant.  While I was walking from the parking lot to the turnstile, I saw 6 or 8 pretty good flashes of lightning.  The thought passed through my mind while I was passing through the metal turnstile that I didn't feel very secure with all the lightening activity about!

Safe travels for the Yorkies.

All for now.

Good evening. Still a bit sore, but not feeling horrible. Have more than half of the note cards done. Feeling good about that. Night everyone.

About 5:45 I went down and mowed the front and back yards. I found the optimum throttle setting on the tractor (they all have one, you just have to find it) and I did it all on one tank of gas. The grass wasn't high enough to make a bunch of clippings and I wasn't going to wait for it to get that high. We're expecting rain Thursday, maybe as early as tomorrow so I considered it a good idea to stay ahead of it. If we got a heavy rain on uncut grass it would be a big job to cut it. I don't feel like going through all that.

Tomorrow I'll see if I can get the other two FP7's decaled and numbered. Certainly not a big job. Just slow and tedious.

Well, I'm tired so time to call it a night here. See y'all tomorrow.

Need a serious dose of the pot this afternoon. things at work didn't go all that well and of course I brought it home with me. After being home for about a half hour me and the wife are in an argument that I more or less started. I hate the slow transition from winter to summer. I guess I'm just feeling some depression from not being able to work on the house and train layout.

Guess it is time for me to get off my arse and just get past it. Other than that nothing new to post except we have rain coming in for thursday and friday. Of course the weekend is dry but colder temps.

Kev - what radius curve are you running on the new addition?

I got three of the FP7's decaled and numbered today. That was a little tricky cutting out those number boards.

Tomorrow, if I have the time I'll see about getting the other two done.

Jack - I will never claim to speak for the other guys, but for me I have to be very selective in what organizations I donate to. The March of Dimes has been one that I have always donated to when I have 'extra' funds. Back in Jr and Sr High I used to do the Walk every year. Helping children, in any way I can, will always be a Life's Mission for me.

I only wish I could have done more.

----

Today I am a man of few words. Still trying to wrap my brain around the events from yesterday. 9/11 was hard. The start of the first Gulf War was hard. The spat of school shootings were very hard. But yesterday just took on a whole new meaning of the word 'senseless'. The Boston Marathon??? The Boston Marathon???

All I can say is when you get home tonight, grab your spouse, loved ones, children, mother, father, who ever you hold dear in your life, and give them a hug. Tell them how much they mean to you, even if they don't understand.

Good Afternoon:

Just got back from the vet. Mack was his normal self as soon as we walked into the office. No ear infection and the vet said that he is not sure what is wrong so we had some tests done. We will get the results tomorrow. What a baby he was. It took 2 techs, the vet and myself to hold him to have his temp taken and he cried like he was being beat. Drawing blood was the same.

Jack: Send me the info on Victoria's walk.

Time to start getting ready for school.

If you want to take a stand, I say sponsor RockIsland's granddaughter in her walk next month.  Jack, please email/PM me the info.

Jack - Please email me the information as well!

Fife, Brent, Chief, and Banks...... I will email you shortly with the information. Thank you so much for your sponsorship of our nine year old granddaughter Victoria in the March (of Dimes) For Babies walk.  She will be thrilled and then ask Grampy Jack "Who are these guys?!?"  The walk is scheduled for May 11 in downtown Boston which gives one pause after yesterday's tragic bombings.  But we can't let the evil in the world thwart the very thing that differentiates us in the eyes of the world.

How can I say thank you in a way that adequately expresses my gratitude?  My granddaughter is working very hard.  But she is learning that she can make a positive difference in the lives of others.  Change for the positive happens one person at a time, one kind deed at a time.  Pam and I are so proud of her.

And thank you to all here on the POT for your kind words about our little Victoria's effort in honor of her brother, Mateus John Marques, whom we tragically lost at the age of just six days.

Good Morning!

Prayers go out to all of the victims and their families in Boston.

Jack: You have to be proud of Victoria.

I have to take our dog Mack to the vet today. He just is not himself. He is sneezing and it appears that his right ear is bothering him.

Getting ready for York! Leaving Thursday early afternoon.

Have a Great Day!

John
