Hello all
Another quiet night on the mountain. Observers made dinner for me and even brought it up to the control room. Was very nice. I guess it's the least you can do for your chauffeur.
Kev - it's photons, not protons...

Heading for a train show this morning in Kansas City. Bright, sunny, and we still have an impressive snow pack but with totally clear streets (for the most part.)
I'll be picking up an 072 right hand switch today for the Mall layout. When I stopped by yesterday every train was running great. This time of year really draws the kids and families to the two store fronts.
The 2343C came this week and I'm itching to run the full speedliner which has double of each type of aluminum coach with it.
A friend also has one of these and we're planning a Santa Fe day on the layout.
V8Vega 84 today but 13 degrees cooler tomorrow. Calif. gas tax is going up 3.5 cents July 1st, that makes it 70.5 cents, the highest gas tax in the nation. Democrats totally control this state and we have the highest income tax and sales tax also. They keep adding fees to our property tax. The car cover I won on ebay arrived today and on the package it said postage was $13.58. I paid $5. + $10 so the poor guy only made $1.42 for his trouble.

Good Morning Everyone! 32 and Sunny!
Had a nice walk with the Dynamic Duo. Chester had to tease my daughter's 2 dogs, the pit bull next door and another neighbor's dog that was barking. Mack was good. Tody my wife and I are off to NYC to the Food Show at the Javetts Center. This is a "business trip". Yesterday we went to a Depression Glass Show (YES, She bought a few pieces) and later to my youngest brother's 50th birthday party.
SJ, Charlie: Enjoy the show.
Have a Great Day,
John
Good morning. It's 36° with 78% humidity. The high will be 60°.The low this morning was 27° with a north wind. Sure hope my father took a good coat when he went to his job this morning. It gets pretty cold on top of those fuel tanks. One of the items on the agenda today is to switch out the Lenz decoder in the primer gray FP7 with a DH123. It's a simple matter to unplug one and plug in the other then program it. Then there's the ever present pile of clutter to clear off the layout. It's slow going but I'm making a dent.

Was just running my shelf layout and looking at the building of my new layout to be. Instead of putting all my switches in the back where its hard to get to and where your most likely going to have a problem if your going to have one put them on the front of the layout it will also let me do the back and get it over with then I can play what I want to do with the switching scene. I do know I'm going to have actual O gauge in the middle of all this so outside will be gargraves with the center old school O gauge track. Still will have 2 switches in the back but there to sidings at each end to use the corners instead of letting them go blank.
Don't know why but I'm cold this am and the thermostat is set at 72. Just can't shake this chill. Think I need to make some Hot Chocolate hmmm that sounds so good talk to you all later.

Well I slept in with the wife till 8:45 and she won, I had to get up.
Bright sun no clouds with a slow melt going on.
SJ I have learned how it works but I just hope Ryan will blow it off as it should be blown off. I don’t think the moderator even wanted to change his post that was complained about but had to.
Brent, Sometimes on some cars you can pop or slip the top of the armrest off and the screws are inside. Worth a try.
Pat, On the meat thing I was thinking it was because so much beef was sold off early because of the drought not Chief's party.
Bob. Is there a difference between a proton and a photon?
Prairietype and Jake, Have fun at the shows U to SJ.
RT, Cold = been in the south tooo long.
Brutus, Pizza and beer sounds like a plan for the NASCAR race today.
Charlie. At least you still have a month to get packed up. Good way to take inventory.
Joe, 12 weeks will be gone in no time, good luck.
BOC, stay away from those sinkholes. We don’t want you to end up like that poor guy in Florida.
Well the cat is back in and I got to make brunch.
Have a good day.

Aloha. Glad it's still cold and snowy outside so we can continue to use nature's fridge until the Whirlpool repair guys get here tomorrow. Heard we might get more snow on Tues. Hope that's wrong. It sure makes a difference with the bright sunshine outside. Working on my online courses, some of which wrap up this weekend- with all my students submitting things at the last minute. Hope to tempt the youngest into painting the small houses I picked up yesterday. I am beginning to think I screwed up my W4 withholdings at work (too few) so I might try to puzzle that out too. So glad Buckeye is taking care of the important stuff for us all. Jack, I've been getting layout inspiration from http://chicagopast.com lately.

Morning all
I have a bit of time before the next service and thought I check in. I got an offer from Rome, but turned it down. The fiinancial package was not that great but the retirement benifits are out of this world.
d get finished with installing the EGT and Boost gauges in the nw truck, look really cool and work great. Now start saving for some other mods, exhaust, intake, maybe?
Snowing right now and very overcast. We'll see if it starts to stick.
Got to go
May God bless
Jim
Afternoon all!
Snow? What is that? Headed to high 70's today
NASCAR today. Planning to grill out tonight.
Son surprised us with a visit from college Friday night. So we were able to plan a family dinner out last night. SWMBO was very pleased.
Have a great day all!

lion88roar KRM Probe - No there are no 'visible' screws ANYWHERE on this door panel. You can pull the bottom off with a soft pop using a panel tool, and the top pops off the window edge without trouble... the problem is in the middle of the door where the arm rest is... there is something holding to the door and no visible indication what that something is, where it is located, or how to get to it. I removed the door and window control panel and nothing in there either. It may require removing the wood trim, but I'm very afraid of breaking it.
KRM
Brent, I am not sure what year or model your BMW is but look at this. Start at step # 24

Afternoon. Sitting in airport waiting for 7 PM flight. Better sitting here than standing in BPS. Sunny and folks walking around in jackets and it is 65 degrees.
Went through TSA. Had to almost get necked again. Had one cough drop in left pocket. Guy went bezerk. Well, almost. STUPID Acted pi$$ed off at the world. Probably because the big O is sending him home claiming others caused it.
I think the most important thing was I tried to bring Buckeye's birthday present through TSA. A Glock .45. Sorry Buckeye, they took it.
wrmcclellan Afternoon all! Snow? What is that? Headed to high 70's today
Not what you were saying some time ago.
Saw some good commercials on air polution prevention. Video on local TV showed NS diesel pulling a double stack train.
Glad Sturg is back.
Blown, my French Canandian buddy and his family that was [he died] was always so polite. All the ones I were around, while I spent lots of time in Canada years ago, were polite. 90% of the French Canadians I have seen this weekend down here are rude. Sorry.

Jim,
Be careful with the mods, because they get addictive. The first item I'd start with would be a Diablosport Intune programmer if your truck is supported. It will unleash more potential even in stock form, and will really help if you get an intake. I've got an Intune, and it has paid for itself already. Can't wait to see what it does with the Ford Racing air intake that I just bought.
Brent,
That's got me stumped. Every armrest I've dealt with has screws. There's probably some fasteners hidden beneath that trim.
Charlie,
You could send the 726 set here so that it isn't in the way.
Hope Ryan comes back. I always enjoyed his posts.
Back from the train show. Got some really nice stuff at the train show.
A 6464-500 Timken Boxcar,
A 3469 ore dump car,
and to top it off, a 2046 Hudson with a 2046W tender.
Also saw a 6464-100 boxcar, both the yellow and blue feather variations.
The Lehigh Valley Railroad, the Route of the Black Diamond Express, John Wilkes and Maple Leaf.
-Jake, modeling the Barclay, Towanda & Susquehanna.
Temp is 27, I think it stayed there all day.
Show went well, I didn't buy anything but my DIL and 2 grandsons showed up. I walked with them and got em a few good deals for the money they brought to spend. It was fun watching them pick out and pay for things they found. Yes I could have paid but they wanted to buy for themselves. I saw the last 2 laps of today's race, perfect timing..Banilla for all, just jump aboard the thingy. S.J.

Good evening all,
It is still cloudy and miserable in SE Indiana. Had a nice visit going with daughter and grandson until she made some comment as she was leaving that totally left a sour taste. Sometimes you wonder why you have kids......??? Saw where the princess had tire issues today. So did her teammate so it was not totally her. Only one of 3 county teams won their sectional. Go figure. Basically a wasted weekend. Another five days of work in front of me that promises to be frustrating as all get out. Hmmm.... Missed all the excitement here. TBIL after Once Upon a Time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good evening. The P-38J Lightning kit is starting to look like an actual P-38. Booms are on. Working on the propellers right now.
Getting late. School starts again tomorrow. Night everyone.
Good Evening. 33 here and cloudy.
Had a Great Day with my wife. We went to the Trade Show at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC. We took the ferry from Weekawkin, NJ. That was the way to go. We got home and took my son out for dinner. We went to the a local Italian restaurant. Food was good, service poor. We had a great time anyway. Now it is time to relax by the wood stove.
RT: You need a wood stove when you get the chills. i hope that you are not coming down with something.
Jake: You did well at the show. All nice pieces. I am sure that you will be satisfied with the 2046 Hudson.
SJ: Glad you had a good time at the show. I did like you did with your grandsons with my son. He was proud when he bought something with his own money.
Have a Great Night!
Finished a project today. Started last weekend to change out all the 2 and 4 foot fluorescent undercabinet lamps over the kitchen counters to LED lamps. Was not cheap but the LED units have 2 level settings and the heat load/wattage is a small fraction of the old lamps and halogens. The light is better than the old units. Hardest part was installing outlets under the cabinets where the original wiring came out of the walls and directly into the old fixtures.
No cleanup on the layout today. I did get the decoder in the gray primered FP7 changed out and I tore down another unit for a full cleaning and inspection. It's back together and checked off the list as A-OK. I have several left to do. I won't need the heater tonight. The low will be 45° with a south wind.Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.
Home. Too old for this crap. Sat next [well no one between us on flight from Ft. Lauderdale] to a guy who looked like he could have been Buckeye's brother. Even sounded like him. Wonder if that rascal was in disguise???????
Off to bed.
Konbanwa,
It was a little chillier today and overcast; the high was 45. The workday flew by quickly as my plate was full of tasks to complete. The wife made fish tacos for dinner. Actually, due to tortillas cooking faster than expected, we ended up with fish tostadas, but it was good either way. The homemade guacamole makes all the difference. I plan to get to bed early tonight as I am unexplainably tired right now.
Has anyone seen those WBB remote operating cars in person yet? They look pretty neat to me and I’m curious as to how they work.
Pat and V8 – Yesterday my wife read an article about the taxes on cigarettes being sold in NY going up so much that a pack of cigarettes now costs $11. That’s insane, but one heck of an incentive for folks to quit.
Sayonara,
Joe
Hudson#685Jake: You did well at the show. All nice pieces. I am sure that you will be satisfied with the 2046 Hudson.
I am quite satisfied with the hudson. I tested it out, and it had an excellent low speed range. It has a nice high speed as well, and I'm confident that it could pull everything that I have.
Good morning.
School again today with some minor work this evening.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cold 11 degrees. Going up to a sunny 40 today.
Today is a busy day. I have a few chores to do and then, I begin a big project of paperwork. It woll take a few days to finish.
Spent a couple of hours in train romm, yesterday. Finished the switch installation. Put the blue steel bridge back in place and laid down the tracks. Tested out the power and all is ok. All is left to do is put the buildings back in place and the trees.
Buckeye... I wonder if Chief noticed that guy next to him, kept winking at him ??
Dining car is here with Cheerios for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Monday.

Good morning all,
Sunnny but cold in SE Indiana at least until we get more of that white stuff from the skies again. Did not have to drive to work today. Only positive aspect of the week so far. Tired already. No beacon tonight. I hope everyone has a good day.

Sunny & a brisk 28 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Chuck & Co. have apparently set the SNOHIZO cannon from stun to kill for Wednesday here. Thanks.
