Hi GUYZ,
First day o TROUT SEASON here in only lower central PA. I think its only for 13 counties but we are one of em. I will go out later today about 3PM with BRO. That also means first day o outdoor beer drinking season too. Maybe fire tonite?
LEHIGH VALLEY 2089, PENN TECH, in Williamsport,PA? We got the tour of College and its great school. Had lots of my students get degrees from there. What is your major going to be? They have a terrific forestry program there. We bran the sawmill, old style but pretty cool. Good Luck.
Stay frosty my friends,

Morning. Warm. Finally close to normal highs. Off to drive the "fire truck" with the Easter Bunny. 3 hours of hauling kids.
LAZ, go catch em. Show us some photos. Enjoy.
Haven't wired up the "Chief shooting the beaver" scene again. Alan [6] was asking about it on the layout. Explained it too him. Thought it was funny.
Have a great day.
PS: Have you seen the Mayors' Against Illegal Guns [ a Blumberg sponsored org.] latest add. Guy dressed up like he is a hunter holding a shotgun. Look at it. He has his finger on the trigger. Really is a shooter. One of our STUPID female Mayors is a sponsor. The one that said she would not have allowed Gander Mountain in her town if she knew they sold guns. Also, in a Mayors' Assoc. meeting, said Bass Pro Shops [coming to neighboring town] did not sell guns. Sending her back to FL. where she was born and lived until a few years ago.

Civil engineering. Hope to work on the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad after graduation from the college.
Good morning.
Going to tie up some loose ends on my P-38 before starting on the Me 109. Some final assembly, paint and decals are all that are needed.

Good morning!
I will try it again for my last post just deleted itself.
SJ: Happy Belated Anniversary!
RT: LOL about the cartoon of the Easter Bunny!
Kev: LOL about the door locks. That is why I leave the driver's window open whenever I work on a vehicle.
KevinK22: See you at York! Speedy Recovery for you son. Hope he feels better soon.
Jake: $5000 a semester is very reasonable tuition. Be thankful and proud for the award that you received.
Jeffrey: Glad you are feeling better.
Chief: Enjoy the kids as you drive the Fire Truck!
Have a Great Day!

Good morning. It's 59° with 100% humidity. There's a fair chance of rain. The high will be 78°.It's very cloudy here. No rain yet. I have no plans for anything today. Just whatever comes up I guess. Looks like the next thing I'll be needing for the FP7's is #37 Kadee couplers for the pilots. Modifying the rear coupler mount for a #148 is easy. But doing that kind of modification on the pilot would require more work. It's far easier to simply mount an undershank coupler. Two packs would do it. Guess Ebay would be my best bet.

Good Mornin' Y'all From Crystal Clear Taxachusetts,
Had to get the furnace serviced yesterday (oil-fired baseboard water heat). Seems after 26 years some air got into the pipes/system and when the zone(s) would call for heat there was the sound of rushing water prevailed. Tech replaced a valve and purged the system, and now all is good. Nothing $$$ doesn't cure. Of course, this service call and "fix" was not covered by the service contract. I need to go back and read what IS covered by this contract. Annual tune-ups and cleaning are covered, as have been a couple of previous service visits where something was not right (parts and labor WERE covered). Also got the oil tank refilled, 160 gallons at $4.50 per gallon.
Chief......It is quite obvious from both of these photos that the Easter Bunny has serious reservations about your skills as a train engineer and is looking to bail out at the earliest possible opportunity.
KevinK......hope your little one recovers quickly and that the precautionary trip to the Doc's is successful.
SJ......I have a lawn!!!! Lot's of snow melt up my way the past few days with just a few piles left. The guys in the East and Northeast remember the April Fools day storm a few years back that dumped 18" here (if I recall correctly); so I am waiting another week before I prepare the snowblower for the Spring/Summer/Fall hiatus (gas stabilizer).

IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Temp is 39 with bright sun.
Jack don't worry about the Chief, Most of his driving is on the sidewalk. This is an in between day, so some small things to do but I will still sneak in a nap along the way. A nice chat with some of the guys last night..S.J.

Thanks Brutus and Charlie it was just being at the right place at the right time. need to work on the 397 before I get a belt and other things for it need to get it running first. I think it wants to but can't but turns easy. So need to clean it through first. Also need to work on one tender ( actually 2) as another one hums when sits on the track with power to it.
Right now need to clean the room up some so can make room to work in it. Guess pack some of the trains up so I can put all these on the shelves.
HudsonJohn the 685 Hudson is a sweet engine. Now just get the sets togther and place each one on a seperate shelf.
Talk to you all later

KevinK22,
RT,
Sounds like you're trying to start Christmas in March. We need pictures. Send me a picture of that damaged screw hole when you get a chance. I've got some techniques that work real good from my experiences. Benefit of learning the hard way.
Jack,

Good morning all,
All stocked up on things to eat for Easter Dinner with family. Got a spiral cut ham we will have with scalloped potatoes and green beans. Pies for desert. Chips and dips for appetizers and soft drinks.
Chief, fire truck for the kids reminds me of a story Ward Kimball told us about his own personal vintage firetruck that he used in parades and for his band, The Firehouse Five plus Two. One day he was giving the kids a ride all dressed up in fire hats and such and there was a real fire in the neighborhood so they drove over to investigate and got there before the real fire department. According to Ward, a lady came running out of the house and saw them just watching the fire. She said, "aren't you going to do anything?" Ward said he told her "this is out of our territory" The real fire department got there after that and put out the fire. Ward was a gem. We miss him out here.
Happy Easter everyone,
Ray

Yes, I understand that and am happy that I got anything at all, but it wasn't a scholarship or grant. It was through FAFSA, that's why it got to me so much.
And going to college for 4 years with $5,000 per semester in tuition alone, that debt is still going to add up very fast.

When I get home I need to get a pic of a A.F. transformer and see if you can tell me about it You know a good one a cheapy or what cant remember the number off hand it is a single throttle one thou I do remember that lol. need to plug it in and see if it works also lol
Plan to put pics up in SPF tomorrow afternoon. Tonight want to get them set up on shelves as per set per shelf. May even break out the rest of my postwar sets and put them all on the shelves in order of the set being made one is like 1949 and one is like 1961 and the other 3 fall in the 50's
I received a box today that contained eight boxcars, four of which require varying amounts of work. Just little things like couplers, trucks, wheels. The other four were ready to go. Most of them have already been weathered. Saves me from doing it. Two however weren't. One is a MDC 50' insulated plug door boxcar (171185) that needs couplers. The lettering on it is so glossy the light reflecting reflecting off them was about to scorch my retinas. The other is a Cotton Belt 50' double door boxcar (SSW 47295) that looked new and had crisp clean white and yellow lettering and logo. Two minutes work involving a paper towel and some 91% alcohol took care of that. It going to require a little work on the underside. One wheelset is rubbing against part of the frame. A few seconds work with a Dremel will solve that problem.
The granddaughters are on their way over to color Easter eggs.....and not a moment too soon. Grampy found Grammy's candy stash and has been "indulging." B-U-R-P.

A busy day here. My son and I cut ot length, moved and stacked approx. 2 cords of large, heavy oak. A bit tired now. Pizza for dinner and then a nice relaxing evening. Early Church Service tomorrow.
Laz: How did you do trout fishing?
SPMan, Ray, Sounds like a great dinner.
RT: The 685 Hudson with my first train set. Still my favorite.
Jack: Save some candy for the kids.
Jake: My kids got $0 from FAFSA. Your college is a BARGAIN. Add it up: $5,000 a semester + 2 semesters a year x 4 years = $40,000. You would not believe what my daughter's tuition a year was. My son is currently attending the County College, the tuition is equal to yours. Next year the big buck tuition starts.
Have a Great Evening!
Evenin' boys. It's sunny and laz57 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Didn't get to go to the yatchet. Wifey wanted to talk. And talk. And talk. Well, ya'll been there. Sooooo, did yard work, changed oil in Ranger, cleaned up FifeMax stuff, and buried a goldfish.
Just not what I was hoping for, on the prettiest day of the year thus far.
CWFY.
Good afternoon
Ooopppss looks like I was signed in under my old screen name earlier when I posted from the spare Laptop.!
Gonna try to get caught up here, sorry if I miss any one:
Jeffery, I am glad your feeling better
Bob, I like the bike. There's a kid in my small town, that some how hooks weed wacker motors to bicycles. hes build quite a few, as alot of the locals have them. some are pretty tricked out with ferrings (?) and stuff
LAZ, thats some funny stuff. You should see how us Southern Cumberland Countians live.
AF53 IN RE to your second post about child support: I bet he spent close to the 29K on tickets over time. especially if you play hard. I know a lady that drops her ENTIRE paycheck on scratch offs every payday. Need I say anymore on that
To any one that noticed :Why do some of the posts some days have "bullets" in them?
Lehigh Jake. I went to Penn Tech. Good school I had a blast there. some times too much of a blast. Be carefull off campus at night. Williamsport is not the safest town. I personally never had any problems, execpt one some broke into my Jeep Wrangler (soft tops dont lock) and stoll all my cassette tapes (yeah it was a while ago) If you wanna see chicks, unfortianatly Penn Tech is not it. Make some friends up at Lycomming College. They have better parties up there any way.
Cheif, whats your feelings on the "Insider Club Savings" is it worth it? I ment the cost of the club vs what you actually buy We have a local Harbor Freight store. I wish we had Northern tool closer, but they do ship fast.
Chief, What did the female Mayor THINK Gander Mountian sold? Cosmetics......
Boy you could tell it was opening day (I guess) in PA. People lined shoulder to shoulder fishing over top one another. i just cant get into that. I prefer good ole' Cat Fish fishin. toss the line out grab a and wait. grab another and wait some more........ REPEAT this pocedure
Nice weather today. picked up some mags at the LHS today.
Hope I didnt miss anyone,
I went on an American Flyer buying binge last week....... (AF is my preferance over O gauge) spent way too much money. all NIIB MPC Flyer.
Chat Later, and have a GREAT EASTER is I'm not back till then
Almost forgot. Heres an updated picture of the three footed cat. he's got a little ways to go on filling out his rear end but he's getting there
Poor guy just wants to be a normal house cat, but with him having the FIV he has to live a separate life. I let him out of the rear of the house under super vision. I installed a door in the hallway, so he has his own little suite back there.
Before:
Hudson#685:
Unfortunately that's not counting meals, books, housing, etc. Tuition is cheap there, I know (one reason I applied there, in fact). However, I do have plans to continue my education at Penn State Altoona for Rail Transportation Engineering if things work out, and THAT school isn't cheap.
But yes, it is something at least. Just that much less.
Zero Expert:
I don't really care about having a girlfriend or going to parties in college anyway. Ah well, besides, I really not something to look at.
And after spending a few nights in Scranton and just outside of D.C., I know not to be wondering the streets.
Kids hauled in "fire truck" [actually an insult, a Cub Cadet mower with fiberglass body over it, not a John Deere], MIL's meal of bar-be-qued chicken is eaten and back at home. Full and tired. Think I will snooze, watch TV and look through new Micro-mart catalog.
On Harbor Freight Insider Club, YES. You get deeper discounts on sales and special coupons by email. They carry a lot of tools and etc. I mainly buy small versions such as table top drill press, table top band sander and things to help me with building layout. Paid $12 for a good 24" handle bolt cutter yesterday. We have Northern Tools too. Prices are better at Harbor Freight. I have also found out that Lowe's Home Improvement Kobolt tools have lifetime warranty. Unless I am really going to work a tool to death, I buy from those. Now for things like my big framing nailer and etc, I buy Dewalt. Drills and impact wrenches, Craftsman [got 4 19.2 volt drill/drivers and all over used and still good].
Later
PS: Zero, bull s--t. You might think you are not something to look at but I bet there are several young ladies that think you are. Don't "belittle" yourself. Every day, I see "lookers" hung on the arm of some "unusual" guys. Get out there.
chief, I think you ment Lehigh... LOL
Lehigh, dont worry about girlfriends.
Looks? don't worry about that either, its about personality you'll see this later in life. besides, get enough "juice" in em,and they won't care about looks
all right, enough of being a bad influence for the day
WOW busy, Had the granddaughter for a day and a half,
Worked on the daughters car and worked in the yard today. It was the first day you could work outside. Lexi and I got the Gator stuck 3 times and she is now the winch controller. (The problem with Turff tires) I think we need to stay out of the wood for awhile. She knows just what to do. I am still not caught up on the pot but will get there.
Train news,,,,,,, one of my daily runners a 218 went up in smoke today. I also placed a K-Line 027/042 switch in place of a Lionel 042 and it works but both the green and red lights are on at the same time? So I ran away from the layout and went outside and used the stump grinder to remove two stumps. Now I am toooo tired to care..
WHAT is with all of these stupid pop-ups CTC is adding to the site, I will be hard pressed to re-up but they have me till 2014 and they know it.
Jake, you are most likely better looking than you think. There is someone for everyone. Just pace yourself.
Oh yeah, I guess the new grandson's name will be Jordan Xavier?
All of you have a blessed Easter, God Bless.
Good evening all,
It was mild in SE Indiana with temps in the 60s. Wife and I picked up 3 trash cans of sticks today, and then I washed 2 of the vehicles. Also, the wife gave me a nice haircut. Tired. TBIL any time. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
