Sunny and into the 70's today. Rain is supposed to start tomorrow, with falling temperatures the rest of the weekend. Maybe snow on Sunday.
Not much going. Will have to donate another Saturday to work tomorrow. With any luck, I'll only have to be in for a short time in the morning to get things started and again in the afternoon to see how things are pmoving along.
All for now.
Kev, were gonna shave another 20' of trees out the whole way around, then at the base of that hill were gonna dig a swale? culvert? out and around to the natural run off swale nature made. The issue with the run off to the neighbors is a spring that squirts up in the middle of my driveway. and its a maintenance nightmare. Then it runs out across there drive way and out onto the road, because its missing the drain the state installed. it was sooo bad at one time this winter the sate had to come salt the road because cars were spinning out on the ice in the middle of the road. And since this run off originates on my property, I feel its me responsibility to fix it.
wow its late
got alot to do tomorrow

Hello all
Another quiet night collecting photons. Slept like a log for most of my time off shift today. Just about the time you get used to this schedule it's time to go home
Ran the 0-8-0 on the test track of the Mt. G & AZ Eastern boiler shops last night w/ the new MRC 1301 transformer. Very nice slow speed control. I can see where sometime down the road I might be looking at there dual control unit
JimT - "Jumpin' Linclon Logs Batman!!" That loader sure is impressive. The logs seem to leap up into the overhead crane. And there is nothing like Flyer chuff Bummer about the mufflers, but I'm sure someone will pick them up. I lucked out w/ a $30 muffler I got from O'Reilly on the hardtop. It fit in the space, has a sound I like, and didn't cost that much. How often does that happen?
Fife - continued prayers for your daughter
Mike - thoughts and prayers for yours as well. Sounds like there was another stone in the bile duct. Did they have to open her up again or could they do it laproscopically this time?
Ryan - as long as you're following all the codes and ordinances, as Nike says: "Just do it" You did the right thing by talking to them about it as well. What they do w/ that info is their choice.
SPRay - gonna send you a PM
One of the guys from basecamp just brought a spectrum analyzer by that he no longer had a need for. Used to work in the communications business. For those who may not be familiar w/ these they are like an oscilloscope but provide frequency vs/ amplitude instead of time vs. amplitude. This is one of the few test equipment pieces I have yet to acquire as they can be somewhat expensive and often fairly large. This is a portable unit that can run on battery or line power. I am fairly stoked about this and owe Larry a big thanks. I'm going to try and align another radio this week so I'll be sure to post another 'mad science' pic.

Ryan, Neighbors are overrated. It don’t matter if your on 100 Acres or a postage stamp. They have less skin in the game than you but at one time you had less skin in the game than others. So let it blow, just don’t allow any additional runoff from your place go to their place. And BTW make sure you build up a pad so your train room will not be sitting in a water hole. I told that to my neighbor when he was getting his land ready to build and ,,,,,,,,,hey what does this old fart know. Sure enough every time it rains hard he gets water coming in right under the doors. I told him he needed to raise the floor by at least another 1.5 foot, but noooo. So now he is trying to cut the ground around his shed down so the water will run away. Not a easy job after the fact. And so now he has pushed extra runoff onto our property but what do you do?
Lexi sure got the engineer hat on quick with her own transformer and Thomas loop, but you can tell she is a she. It seems her preference for Thomas is full speed in reverse. No PileUPs
I am bushed and that is not G.W. Bush.

Ryan,
It's your land. Don't worry about the neighbors. I had a psycho next door to me, so I can relate. She's gone, and the couple that bought the house are the exact opposite of her.
Spent the afternoon/night swapping mufflers on the Mustang. Started by swapping the Ford FR500S out for Flowmaster Outlaws. Outlaws are very loud with a great deal of bass, but the interior resonance is too much. Put the FR500S back on and listed the Outlaws.

Watched one of those super shark movies today. Very big bogus moment. A warship captioned on the screen as a destroyer was very obviously an Iowa Class battleship. Time for me to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Ok , lets try this post again.
my neighbors house is in direct view of the "site" They did not look thrilled to see me out there clearing land. Ohh well, I've been here 9 years, them, six months. All the Local set backs are being met, as well as some restrictions on our "Woodland Conservation" zoning. And due to the size of the building and the fact that it will have electric, It will be subject to all building inspections.
Ohh well, guess I won't be getting a Christmas card from them this year......
I even went over and explained exactly what I was doing and it didnt seem to matter. I also offered to correct some drainage issue for him while I had the Machine available, but he said he wasn't interested..... even though I explained that I am correcting it on my side, and if he doesn't correct his, or let me do it, its only gonna get worse for him.
Then his wife was taking pictures of me clearing trees, like I was breaking the law or something?
they keep it up, and I'll put Section 8 housing in there.....
any way, END RANT
Anyone have any thoughts on me being a horrible neighbor? Please keep in mind I started clearing this for a garage 8 years ago, and got side tracked and it grew over ... Believe me , I am trying to also see things from there shoes, but there's three families back in here with seniority as i see it as follows: existing neighbor when we moved in, us, and the new people (only been here 6 months)
The neighbor that has been here the longest, does all kinds of stuff from building an unpermited garage last year (its nice, not some hillbilly crap shack) he also has a 4 wheeler trail all over his property that his kids ride around on ALL weekend long, and none of which I say anything about or let bother me......
I don't know, maybe I am over reacting?
Temp is 37, cloudy all day
We are suppose to get a littte snow overnight but that's ok it won't stay long. Granny wants to go out for dinner on Sunday so we enjoyed a big pot-o-chili tonight. I'm hoping the banilla will keep my tummy settled till the thingy crew arrives..S.J.

Don, did not know that my friend Larry knew Doug Murphy. It just never came up in conversations with him. Larry is from Chicago originally and knows a lot of folks in that area I suppose. I called the hobby shop in Burbank about my E6 diesel problem hoping to get tips on what else I could try. I should have known better. They want me to bring it in which is the best way to diagnose I agree. Told them I would wait until after their Spring sale which is next week. I know everybody over there will be busy with that. So for now it's back in the box.

Howdy All !
To those that still remember me, just thought I would post a quick "Howdy", still doing well pushing the trains around Knotts, and selling ink and paper.
Ray, (and a friend) came by my place this past week. (The friend is a former Engineer from Knotts, ???? How about that? (He also knows Doug Murphy from OGR)). Any way had a really great time! They did well running the equipment, I didn't do so well as switchman :( though. Then we had a couple of tire issues, but other than that everything worked well. I was concerned, as I hadn't been in the train room in over a month.
Decided, I should check 9v batteries in engines too make sure none were leaking, did that this morning. (Reminder for you guys with Lionel, K-line, and other TMCC stuff sitting on the shelf, you might want to check.)
Off to Knotts, working a party tonight from 5 to 1:30 am, so stay HEALTHY and Best to ALL your families.
Don

Tomorrow, if all goes well, I will be returning to BWI. The last time I was there was in 1951 and rode in a prop airplane. I wonder if anything will be different this time. I then get on a train to Newark.
fife...please stand beside the track and way as I go past. I'll sit by a window and wave back.

Good morning all,
Chief, congratulations on the new great nephew. Hope everyone is doing well.
Thoughts and prayers for Alexis
I have been getting sort of a diagnosis of my MTH E6 problem from a tech on the other forum. He seems to think that I have a bad micro chip that is preventing the engine from going into motion. Don't know if that is replaceable but I have a feeling you have to replace the whole board.
Tried out some Hardees bisquits that are sold now through Carl's Jr. here. They have bacon, egg and cheese or ham, egg and cheese. Got one of each and blew my diet all to heck but it was good. I didn't see any grits there though.
Prayers for Mike's daughter, Chief's grandnephew, and Alexis. Raining now. Youngest is asleep. Poor guy. During my many errands for the bride this morning, I found some elephants for Ivor. He is pleased.

Quiet time,
I picked up Lexi at 11:00 at Bozo hot dog place in Morris. So her dad her and I had lunch there.
I took off Lexi's shoes about ten minuets ago and she said I take Nap now Binka?? I said yep. She walked herself to the bed climbed up and got under the covers with a doll and is fast asleep. Nothing hard about that. When she gets up we are going to town because her box of Goldfish is empty so we have to get some more.
Brent, thanks for the update on Alexis.
Fish does sound good.
Mike C, prayers.
Alexis, prayers.

Good afternoon all,
Cloudy but mild in SE Indiana. Continued prayers for Alexis. They did remove gall bladder before, but evidently missed a gall stone. Now they are sending a scope down the throat to retrieve the stone. They did this step before the surgery as well. Thanks as always for the support. TBIL and I can drive as the wife will be staying with daughter. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Mornin' FellasUpdate from Fife - Alexis is in A LOT of pain. She is able to take steps, but with help. Concerned about her temperature as she has a fever. FifeDad and FifeMom have been taking turns at the bedside. Wishes to pass on thanks for all the prayers.Had a nice time with the kiddos last night as TheQ went to her sorority meeting. They were well behaved and Matthew went to bed early and slept for a long time - not sure he made it through the night, but he may have. Really impressed with Christina. I had to give Matthew an emergency bath last night due to over feeding. As I was preparing the water I noticed I didn't have any washclothes or towels for him, so I asked Christina if she could go get me 2 washclothes and a towel from their bathroom, her response (said with a HUGE smile - "YES"). About 2 minutes later she returns with a "Here it is", I turned around and there she stood with 2 washclothes and a towel! So very proud of her! Great helper and if this continues it will make watching the two of them alone easier.

Good Morning!
Woke up to 32, it is now 35 and sunny.
Got home from Mom's. While my wife is getting ready, I decided to check the 665 that I repaired last night with a long load. 18 cars with no problem. Now waiting for Doray for she wants to go to a Craft Fair and then we will do lunch.
Chief: Congrats on the Grandnephew!
Kev: Don't tempt Ray and I. Could you picture what we would be like if we lived closer. "Oh, this stuff, I am just servicing it for John." "The package that came, It is for Ray."
Jim: I do not have any digital pics of the 65 on the computer. As soon as it gets a bit warmer i will pull it out of the garage and take some. It is a bit full of saw dust from my sidekick and I would want to give it a bath first.
Everyone have a Great Day!
John
Temp is 35, sky is cloudy.
Chief congrats to the family on the 8 lb'er. I have some errands this morning but nothing big time..Yes it appears to be Friday again...S.J.
Aloha. TGIF. Youngest was up with a stomach bug at 3, 4, 5 and 6. Ugh. At least he made it where I didn't have to clean anything up. I have a lot of work today... Praying for Alexis and Mike's daughter. Jim, that 751 sounds just like a friend's - they are loud! Chicago's Century of Progress...
Good morning. It's 46° with 95% humidity. The high will be 78°.I have a lot of doing nothing planned for today.
It finally came. Little after midnight. 8+lbs.
Sunny and chilly. Warming fast. Hope to catch up on home chores today. Had to take Wiley to groomer [Wifey's job but you know ].
Chat later.
Good morning,
Sun is coming up into a partly cloudy sky.
Busy day today. I have to go to the bank .Then I will be picking up Lexi the granddaughter for the weekend. I hooked up the CW80 to the inner loop on the layout addition last night so the she can run Thomas on her own. It is nice because it won't allow jackrabbit starts and it won't go so fast that it will derail. It should be fun.
Chief, I am waiting for Ray and John to bring over more wood for their side of the layout.
BOC, What you getting from the LHS?????
DougM, I like the pictures your taking from those rides in your time machine. Keep them coming.
Mike, prayers for your daughter. Also Prayers for Alexis
