Well I figured because it got up to 54 degrees today and the wife was home I would go out  hide in the shed / man cave , turn up the heat and finally start taking the 1926 Briggs FH apart. Got out the torches and heated up the frozen stuff and got it tore down.

Lots of issues, I think I will make this the first thing I try to sell on the bay. I have never sold anything on the BAY only got things. Hmm The bronze Carb looks like it is worth well over $125.00 and it has a lot of other very good stuff. Can use the cash to pay for the Thomas set I ordered today..  Mischief  Whistling

Wife is not happy with me because I smell like ChemDip and Mineral spirits. You cars guys know how it is.  Wink

Jeffrey, nice looking boat and amazing for it's age.  Does it have a convertable top/sun awning?

At one time it HAD a convertible top. It was stored in our old bunk house when it wasn't in use. My mothers little wire haired terrier discovered it one day and thought it made a dandy chew toy.Laugh The dog survived. The top didn't.Dead

At a corporation I once worked for, we used to go round and round with the field sales guys who consistently bent the rules to make a sale.  That usually caused a lot of unnecessary work for others, cleaning up a (pricing) mess while the sales person relaxed at home with the commission $$$ in his/her next paycheck.

Their excuse was something similar.  "To ask permission is to seek denial." Thumbs UpSmile, Wink & Grin

Well I didn't get very much accomplished today. Too busy watching TV and recovering from yesterday. Put the trash out today for collection in the morning. It's been raining most of the day here, light at times and heavy sometimes, plenty of 25-35mph wind gusts. I have a doctor appointment in the morning. Just a general checkup.

Time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow.

Kev, Nice move on Thomas! Yes

Jack, I used that all of the time at work. I just did it and when question I showed them end result. I always had my ducks in a row. My other favorite was, "Answer the phone, inherit the problem". I used the answering machine a lot the last couple of years after thrown under the bus from something that someone else started and dumped on me.

Good morning. It's 43° with 90% humidity. The high will be 62°.

I'll be heading into town in a couple of hours to a doctor appointment. Just a regular checkup. No plans for later today. I may get some layout work in if I feel like it.

Hello all

Finally an actual quiet night collecting photons. The last of the astronomers headed back today and the engineers took one look at the forecast and chickened out.

Wind is picking up this morning and were are supposed to get 10 - 16" of the Chief's favorite tomorrow at this elevation.

Needless to say, I'm going to be tightening up the chains today before I have to do it in blowing snow tomorrow.

Bob, just what exactly is it that you do? And / or are monitoring in the sky?  wondering minds musty know.

I hope to find every on as well as possible.  The wife and I got a touch of some flu. pretty much over it now. Thank goodness we have two bathrooms in the house.

didn't even get much train time in, but did get some new loco's on trade on Saturday.  Spent Sunday on the Sofa.

Here's the perplexing question of the week:  We have digital cable, over 400 channels, so why is there NEVER any thing on worth watching? I mean, come on, 400 channels, theres no reason that at ANY given time there shouldn't be something on worth watching?

And BTW, the only reason we have digital cable is so she can DVR her Soap Opera's

any way, the day must begin!

WOW The cat is in the house. From 54 degrees yesterday to 16 degrees with 30 mph winds now. Burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Shot a big fat raccoon in the butt last night in the front yard. Boy did he scream, growl, jump and run kind of sideways off to the woods. Wish I had got a cleaner shot but there was a tree in the way for a head or chest shot. I left the heat up in the shed so I will be going out there today.

Ryan has asked the question that can’t be answered.  Hmm

Kev, Bob, 8N,

I am thinking of holding off on the gears for a bit.  Don't want to rush into it just yet.  Might go with 3.73 since that is what the 08-09 Bullitt has stock when I change them.

Will be going to a local dealer in a bit to see about trading the 97 Probe in.  It's getting to that point (199,504 miles) that lots of small things are letting go faster than I can keep up.  Nice car, but it is starting to show it's 16 years, and I don't want to go through an engine/trans rebuild.  Wouldn't be worth the money after I thought about what it has needed just in the last 10K.

Jim, See if you can find a 08-09 Bullitt when you are trading the Probe and take it for a test drive to see how you like that gear. Wink

Hey Jim, but then you would know if you like the gear. Mischief

I have had two Taurus both for my daughter. A 1999 and a 2001 both good cars but the 99 was far beter than the 01. The 01 had a 3 liter and got very good milage but it blew the trans at 111K and the front timing cover gasket at 98K. both big $$$$$$$ repairs. The 99 had 168K when she totaled it and was running fine. I give that car credit for saving her life. It took a hard hit and she survived.

Good morning! 44, sunny, 90% chance of rain going down to 28 tonight at the Jersey Shore.

Going to split some wood today before heading out to school. Had a nice walk this morning with the dog and cat. Met up with a Pug that got loose and he found out that he messed with the wrong cat. She just waited for him to get close and let him have it. Of course Mack had to run over and "help". He was too late. The pug took off after 1 swipe and Mack listened when he was told to sit. Chester thought she was "it " as she did her victory roll. We then headed home for breakfast.

Laz: Rockin but not Rocking Chair. Still doing night school 3 days a week. Was doing the daily radiation run with Mom, but she is doing well and we are down to chemo every 3 weeks. Getting ready to redo the back yard after Sandy. New layout is in the planning stage. My wife and I have a real estate deal worked out for it.

Jeffrey, Blownout Cyl.: Hoping for good news from the doctors today. You guys need a break.

Jake: Good Luck with Penn Tech.

Submmbob: Careful with the snow. Smart move doing the chains now.

Fife: I am dreading doing the taxes this year. Our Accountant files for an extension.

Ryan: Glad you and the wife are almost over the crud. I agree with the digital cable.

Kev: I had a 99 Taurus with the 3.0 base engine. I got over 250,000 out of it with no problems. Everything self destructed in a 2 week time. It is funny in retrospect, but when it happened it was unbelievable. I am talking starting with the a/c, going to the engine surging and using coolant, trans slipping and master cylinder. The Taurus was the most dependable, safest car that I ever had. We bought that when my wife bought her Escort. We went to buy the Escort and my wife said you need a new car also. It was the last week in September, 1999, they wanted to move cars and a deal was made.

Chuck, No Cheerios for me today. Frosted Flakes again.

We have not heard from Bo since he got his new transformer.

Brutus, SJ: I have Messenger on the computer this morning! maybe I will have it tonight and make the Tardis!!!! I keep being told it is an infrastructure problem but they can't tell me how they are going to fix it. I never thought of that excuse at work. I missed a good one.

Have a Great Day!

John
