Pat -- I just got home and saw your current post re: Reverse Mortgages.  I'll try and reply tomorrow, not promising, and if I don't it will be Tuesday, super busy time of year for me and I don't want to give you just a Readers Digest answer.  It can be a many faceted option and I just don't want to spew out generalities.  Would you want me to just send a PM when I get a chance?  The answer to your question will come from an expert who has seen both sides and will provide objective answers.

I really appreciate your taking the time to contact an experet for the answers, especially during this busy time for you. A PM would be fine. The only thing is a post here would possibly benefit others here on the forum. How you respond is  up to you. I am just glad you are willing to help.

Good Morning! 30, Sunny, Very Windy with gusts to 40 mph. The dusting of snow is gone. Temps are dropping to 17 tonight. Thermostat set at 60, house a comfortable 70, thanks to the wood stove.

Jeffrey: Excellent camera repair. A Redneck fix would have been to use one of the rings from a 6 pack holder! Whistling

RT: NO GRITS!!! Glad I am not there when they find out!!! Super Angry

Bob: Waffles? Be right over! Dinner

Joe: Glad the kids are feeling better. We instilled saving to our kids and the value of work  also. It is showing for our daughter, who can spend with no problem, works full time as a teacher, tutors, babysits and works in the ice cream shop. She bought a new Explorer last year and paid it off. Now her and my son in law are having a new house built and a 401k savings besides her pension. My son, who is 20, in college with a part time landscape business is setting up a 401k soon. It was his idea. No aquisitions, York is coming, but the seed has been planted for a birthday present! Cool

Brutus, Jim, Sounds like a great day out! Yes

Pat, Good luck with your decision about the mortgage. Hmm

Jon, Please post if you could the info. It can help others with that decision. Smile

Chuck: I had Cheerios, NO WAFFLES!!!!! Dinner

Prayers for all in Need

Have a GREAT SUNDAY!!!

This mobile software is screwed up.  Says I can see last page and post.  Still shows first page.

It will let you see the last page after you make a post.  Then you can see back pages.  When you then try to go back to the last page, it goes to the first page again.  I posted to Kev last night.  "Seems Yanks can't drive in the snow.  CBS news reported MI interstate shut down due to massive wreck in the snow."  I see it did not post.  Finally late last night snow covered the grass.  Later  Also, can not see what you are typing until you get ready to post.

Home with no problem.  Highways wide open and no ice.  Box and new heat pump doing fine.  Had to keep cutting it down as stayed too warm.  Real cold and windy.  Just is above freezing.  High 50's tomorrow and maybe 60 Tuesday.  Up and down, up and down.

Jeffrey, suppose to cut the up so wildlife will not get intangled in them.

I put the new tractor to work today. Went down and hooked the trailer up to it then came back here and loaded the trailer up with the drawers and bits and pieces from my kitchen cabinet as well as a water heater box. Took that all down to the burn pile and unloaded it. Then moved a few dozen edging pavers for my niece. Then I showed my nieces husband how to operate the new tractor putting special emphasis on DO NOT step on the brake pedal (only foot control on the thing) until the drive lever is in neutral. Pressing the brake while the drive lever is in forward or reverse will wear out the drive belt real fast. After that I parked it in the shed and came back home. Nothing more to report at this time.

Good afternoon.

Parents doing taxes on desktop computer, I'm using one of our laptops.

Anyway, my dad is currently on TurboTax.com, and he is at a point where he has to do one of those type-in-the-word-you-see things. Anyway, he has tried all the possible answers, and has done so with multiple codes. He calls the company, and is on hold for about half an hour. Well, guess what? After that half hour, he was told that he has to wait another 48 minutes before someone gets on. There is music that is supposed to be soothing playing on the phone right now, and he made a gesture as if he were twisting the phone in half.

Ohayō and Happy President’s Day,

The wife returned yesterday evening and had a great time on her trip.  She took some nice photos of the bullet train which I will share once she uploads them to the computer.  I made bacon and egg sandwiches for dinner last night; nothing too fancy but it hit the spot.  I need to spend some time today doing schoolwork.  This is the last week for my current class and I have two papers to write and a final exam to take.  I also need to go for an easy run; the marathon is six days away.

John – I’m glad to see you didn’t have any ulterior motives for teaching them sound financial responsibility. Wink

SP Ray – I’m happy your friend has improved.  I’ll pray it continues.

Sayonara,

Joe

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s.  Good days, long days Friday and Saturday.  Friday night was spent getting ready for Saturday.  Friday afternoon at work was really quiet as everyone else was gone for various reasons.  Got a lot done then.  Saturday went very well except for getting lost in Bloomington on way to game.  Grandson was star of game as he drained 3 buckets in a 14-8 win.  These were not under the basket shots either as he was near the foul line when he chucked them up.  Not bad for a 6 year old!!  A couple of pro scouts were there watching him (just kidding).  Took care of what we needed to do on that which I cannot talk about and it all went well.  Surprised the saucy wench on the way home by stopping at Franklin, Indiana so we could watch "Roman Holiday" on the big screen at a theater that is in the process of being restored.  Think "The Majestic".  Sunday mostly rested, but did sweep back porch, which is always a pain from all the straw the dog drags in from outside.  I see where the Princess got "the Call" and is on the pole for the Daytona 500.  Early over/under on how many laps she actually leads is 5.  Kevin, glad the medical stuff was not serious.  Fifedog,  I am the proud owner of DC powered James Gang General set.  Until the standard gauge stuff came along, that was the queen of the collection.  It does not pull a lot of cars.  It does not smoke or have a light or a whistle, but it does run well.  I wish you well in your search and you could do a lot worse in my opinion.  Dennis W., glad to see you back.  TBIL and I can drive after "Once Upon a TIme".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Wifey [she is off tomorrow] may be baby sitting Greatniece some tomorrow.  Me baby sitting Tuesday.  She goes to "Year Around School" and they are "tracked out".  Mom is a nurse and may have to work.

Now for some Downton Abbey and popcorn.

I'll say good night.  Got early FFA proclaimation and a tractor parade at Middle School [schools out for Presidents' Day].

Temp reach 25 today so it was sunny but cold.

I don't have any great news tonight, #2 son stopped by and helped me install a new sump pump hose. It required some bending and twisting on the floor so I had him do that part. Granny gave him some chili after so he was happy with that. Banilla will be waiting for the thingy crew...S.J.

Hey!!

Listening to the Winter Nationals on the laptop in Pomona, where the real racecars are Mopar Powered (not like that 500 race in Daytona... Grumpy).  Hemi Power in Top Fuel, Funny Car and 2 Dodge bodied Hemi Cars in the Finals right now.

Devils got hammered last night 5-1 in Long Island...

Payed bills Friday night, ordered up my headers and and mini starter with my tax refund.  Which means we are just weeks away from firing up the roadrunner.  Make no mistake, I have to remove those cast iron manifolds and 25 lb. starter.  Better breathing and lighter weight is a benefit.  Will retain those stock parts for back to stock in the future.  It will be great to hear the 'runner like the old days, slight rake and open headers.  Then to get the exhaust redone.

Paperwork completed for divorce, need to call the lawyer to confirm it is complete and accurate, then send off to the soon to be ex for her signature and then to Trenton for submission and final determination.

Angel for those in need.

26F now, windy.  No snow, just flurries the last 2 days.  Spring is a month away....

I got some photos today of my mothers 1962 Lone Star Medallion ski boat. It's name is 'Myna Bird'. We had intended for the work on it to be completed when she would be able to see it running again. Unfortunately she passed away before that could be done. Work was completed this last week and today my nephew took the boat out on it's initial trial run. The results couldn't have been better if it were brand new! Low speed performance is great and the top speed clocked out at 54 mph. Not bad for a heavyweight like that. I really wish she could have been here to see it go out and back. She would've been so happy. I would have loved to get some shots of it on the water but I was too late for that.

The dent in the front in the first photo is where hurricane Rita dropped a tree top on it. Fortunately it was just an empty hull then.

Good evening.

Got taxes done today, mainly for FAFSA. Tax refund turned out to be $310 dollars. I know where that's going to be going.

Performed another test on my 6466W. It is still "trigger happy (likes to continue blowing after I have let up on the whistle button)", but it is still better than having it short everything out. However, the 2020 is still having problems with it's E-unit. It is, at least on occasion, changing direction, but it now changes on it's own on occasion. Other times it doesn't change at all. I'll be looking for an E-unit at the next train show.

Jake,

The whistle relay armature is likely magnetized and sticking to the core.  When I get one like that, I use a VHS tape eraser to demagnetize it.  If that isn't an option, a piece of masking tape placed between the armature and core should do.  Horizontal or vertical E-unit in the 2020?  That sounds more like dirty rollers or weak collector springs causing a momentary power loss and the E-unit to cycle.

Need to do my taxes.  Hopefully, I'll be able to swap the Mustang's 3.31s for some 4.10s with the refund.Stick out tongue  Will be farming that one out due to the complex and delicate nature with pinion depth, backlash, and other factors.

Kev,

It feels sluggish with the 3.31.  I was debating 3.73 or 4.10, and I am leaning toward 4.10 at the moment.  More pickup is my goal.Smile, Wink & Grin
