dbaker48, I love watching long trains, but I like merchandise freights w/ boxcars, gondolas and flats more than I do coal drags or Piggyback. Still cool looking though.

Good afternoon all,

IIABSDISEI with temps in the 20s.  Stayed up late watching episodes of "Rome".  Only 4 to go.  Very nice series.  Very explicit in violence and sex.  Not for kids.  Some of it I do not watch as well.  Put more Christmas stuff away today.  That was the last of it.  May run trains today or tomorrow.  TBIL after "Once Upon a Time".  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

I got an update on my mothers condition and it's not good. They asked us (my father, sister, niece and myself) do you want us to make her comfortable or extend her life artificially? Well the answer to that was unanimous. Make her comfortable. Since watching both of her parents kept alive artificially she's been totally dead set against it and told all of us on many occasions not to put her through it. Just let her go. She stated same in her living will.

I think I'll take a break for a while. I'm just a bit upset right now.

It's 24 degrees and not gonna get any warmer than that till Friday. I had a fun time at today's show. Spent $7 on a little Hornby  gondola. It's the only piece I have and just wanted something to represent their work. You can see it at the end of Charlies video on SPF. My new CSX SD80 is also in there. Banilla for all who climb aboard the thingy tonight...S.J.

Charlie changed my avatar for me. thank you Charlie.

Good Evening Everyone:

It was a beautiful day here. 58 and sunny. It is now 34 and the temps are to go into the 20's. Good thing I got all of the outside Christmas decorations and lights put away.

I was over AF53's before running his trains and making plans for York.

Joe D, No plans in the near future for visiting Japan, but I would not mind seeing the country. Just wondering how much longer you will be there.

Jeffrey: Prayers for your Mom, you and your family. Hang in there.

Kev: Prayers for Blaze. Yes the bad weather is heading our way!

DougDG, Good luck getting back on your diet and best of health.

Laz, Thanks for sharing the photo.

Bo: A good friend of mine keeps growing and shaving off his mustache and goatee. Artie keeps everyone guessing.

Brutus, SJ: I agree ith both of you, this is Home Base.

SJ, Charlie, How did the show go today?

Enjoy the Evening, Time to run the trains for a bit.

John

Well, it's over. My mother passed away about 7:45. I got the call just a few minutes ago (7:51).

Calling it a night early. I really don't feel like talking with anyone tonight. I may be back on tomorrow.

Jeff's mother, RIP. Angel

Good to know that she's no longer in pain now though, particularly given what she has gone through recently.

Good morning. It's 38° with 100% humidity and patchy fog. It'll be cloudy with a high of 68°.

I went to the hospital last night with my nephew to be with the rest of the family beside my mothers death bed. It would be my last time to see her. From there she was picked up and transported to the crematorium. Later today we'll be clearing out her room at the nursing home. We still have to consider what to do with her belongings. The house is loaded with antiques. She was an avid collector of antiques. She also kept nearly every book she ever bought. There's tons of them in the library in the old half of the house. But the hobby she dearly loved was ... wait for it ... shopping! Especially for clothes! The closets are loaded with clothes she bought. Most of them have never been worn and still have the tags on. She never intended to wear them. She bought them simply for the joy of buying them. Why not? She had the money to afford it. Me, I'm poor as dirt. She owned a lot of the property out here. Oh, and Imelda Marcos thought she had tons of shoes? There's enough shoes down there to supply shoe stores in five states! With all that stuff Helping Hands, The Salvation Army and wherever else we take it all to are going to be beside themselves with joy! They'll probably have to close for a week to inventory it all! That is after the family picks through it all. If it isn't electronic or doesn't have flanged wheels I don't want it.

No layout plans for today.
