Tap tap tap.

Ah, distinctly I remember it was in the bleak December,
And each separate dying ember wrought its ghost upon the floor.
Eagerly I wished the morrow; - vainly I had sought to borrow
From my books surcease of sorrow - sorrow for the lost Lenore -
For the rare and radiant maiden whom the angels named Lenore -
Nameless here for evermore.

Yeah. Looks like we're getting a break. Looks like little or no rain from now to the 25th.

Goooood afternoon everyone.

Feeling a little tired, but don't think that I have work tonight (usually would hear by now), so I might actually have a little time to put into the layout. It may be something small, but it's still something.

To all,

What hopes I had for that which I cannot talk about got blown away today.  Conversations on the subject have indicated some actions were postponed, but there are complications surrounding the rescheduling as well.  I know this is cryptic at best, but it is all I can say for now.  Mood in SE Indiana is not good.

Bo, good comment about AJ.  Also, to eliminate any confusion, SOCCER at the professional level will hopefully be in Indy by 2014 (again, a truly All American sport).

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Hi Guys, have not posted for a couple of days.  Just been awfully busy with just stuff, taking down Christmas decorations, paying bills, running errands and the like.  Didn't even get to spend anytime yesterday working on the railroad.  Have a friend coming over Friday to look at the railroad so today am going to spend some time just cleaning up down in the train room.

Well, catching up on the posts it maybe that having been tied up with other things for a couple of days wasn't such a bad thing. Hate to see people get so worked up and then the resulting hurt feelings.  IMHO, life is too short.

Ryan - sorry to hear about the troubles you've had with your employees, it always hurts when our trust in others is violated.  I hope in the end things work out ok.

rtraincollector - nice purchase, I'd like to have that book myself.  I pretty much focus on the modern equipment, but still dabble some in the post war stuff.  Looks like the book is an excellent reference source.  That's the book by David Doyle right?

Jeffrey - does it ever stop raining down there?  Tongue Tied

Prairietype - very nice work on the 2026.  Glad you were able to bring that little locomotive back to life.

Brutus - I believe TCA sends out a new card with each year's renewal.  At least that has been my experience.

KRM - I'm not much when it comes to electrical/electronic issues.  Can you provide a photo showing where and how you hooked up your mini fuses and can you tell me where you got them?

Glad to see that many are starting to get over the crud and are feeling better!

Well, I'm going to get a quick bite for lunch and then down to the train room.  Have a great day fellas!

Oh Yeah, A.J. Foyt, Jr. - Happy Birthday!

Bo  Smile

Good morning all,  I was a little confused with what started the ruckas here and never did get the whole picture.  I tried to reread the last few pages but with my PC being painfully slow it takes too much time.  Anyway, glad the war is over.  I don't have time for that.

Finally got together with MTH yesterday and confirmed my order for parts.  Midge in the parts department is very helpful and a pleasure to talk to.  She is a credit to her company.  I'm sure they know it.

Weather is warming up here after a long cold spell.  Suppose to be in the mid 70's for the next several days and nights in the high 40's.

V8, the car you just bought sounds like fun.  Hope you can find the parts you need for smog check.

Dennis W.  Don't stay away too long.  Sorry you walked into a buzz saw.  Hope the new additions are doing well.

Got errands to run now,

Ray

Good Mornin’ Agin, Y’all:

I can’t understand how people could live AND drive for decades in snow country and still have no clue about how to drive safely in the white stuff.  The local news this morning, reporting on the snowfall of just 3” and the commute traffic, noted a gridlock 40 mile backup on Southbound Interstate Route 93 from Derry New Hampshire all the way down into Boston......... due to multiple spinouts and accidents.  In every case such as this, driving faster in snow inevitably results in a multi-hour commute.

Ryan.......prayers that today finds you in a productive frame of mind as you struggle with some weighty business decisions.  Hang in there, buddy.  You can and you will get through this and the better for it. Angel

Brutus......thank you for the positive update on your wife’s crud progress.  I think you should surprise her with a get-well gift, something with flanged wheels.  THAT should really pick her up, one way or the other. Whistling

Jeffrey.......prayers continue for your Mom.  I was thinking how nice it will be for her with the upcoming visits from your sister, BIL, and your niece. Angel

BOC......I don’t understand all of the confusion and difficulty RT is having understanding your posts.  They are as clear as his are.  WhistlingHope you are feeling better, but it doesn’t sound like it though quite yet.

ROY.......glad to hear you have turned the corner on your crud.  It has really been hanging on.  Eat some 5-alarm Texas chili.  That should finish it off.

Harold.......that is exactly what I did last night winding down from the day, run some trains.  Makes the day’s problems seem a lot smaller. Thumbs Up

DennisW......bet you uttered “OOOPPPSSS!!!!” when you popped your head in here yesterday to see what was going on here.  Hope today finds all your kiddies and family hale and hearty.

DougM......I noted that that the tin plate website you found, looking for your “scale” elephants, said “for adults” when listing the age appropriateness.  Do we toy train fanatics qualify as adults? Whistling

V8 Dennis.........how did the former owner of your del Sol pass CA vehicle emissions testing previously?  Maybe he still has the original air intake parts. May be worth a call. No matter, this is fixable.  I assume you are issued a temporary 30 day sticker in the meantime, no?  They do that here in Taxachusetts when a car fails inspection.

MikeC.......   "Big news is that Indianapolis will be getting a pro franchise in that all-American sport for maybe 2014."  You already have one.  Whistling

Later, gang.  Off to take some pre-emptive Ibuprofen and then do some more shoveling.  This stuff is the heavy wet stuff and needless to say the City snowplow guys have done their thing and left me an unwelcomed present at the bottom of my driveway.

I think that if the Coffee Pot is going to continue, members need to avoid politics, avoid controversial issues, and avoid hot button topics sure to tick people off. Stop trying to bait people into fist fights, and proclaiming they want free speech while reporting postings of people they disagree with. If you wouldn't say something to the person if they were standing three feet from you, then don't post it.

Good morning all,

It is a little bit warmer today in SE Indiana with temps in the 30s.  Hopefully I will get some good news today on that which I cannot talk about.  Busy last night.  Paid some bills, got some shoes, picked up checks at bank, and did some grocery shopping for the "Saucy wench".  Dennis W., glad to see you back and any time is a good time to be here in the Pot.  Some times are just a little more interesting than others.  Big news is that Indianapolis will be getting a pro franchise in that all-American sport for maybe 2014.  TBIL and I think some nice relaxing drinks will be served.  I hope everyone has a good day.  Oh, and I would be remiss if I did not mention today is the birthday of a true American Legend, A. J. Foyt, Jr.

Good luck with that.

Aloha. Brrrr. BOC left the door open to the Arctic cold - though I understand it's not supposed to get real single-digit cold for another day or so . Class went well last night. 2 down, 8 more to go. Had a nice conversation with the conductor on the long milk run home last night - I was curious how he handles and tracks cash fares - boy, is it complicated!  DennisW, nice to 'see' you. Hope all your kids are doing fine.

Good morning. It's 33° with 100% humidity. Mostly cloudy with a small chance of rain. The high will be 45°.

Other than a possibility of light rain this morning it looks like the rain is coming to an end. About time. I think I'll just get some rest today. There are no plans for working on the layout at this time. Electrical power isn't stable this morning. It keeps fluctuating. So much so it causes my modem to drop out for a second.

Good Mornin' Y'all From Snowy Cape Ann Taxachusetts,

Crawled out of bed this morning at O-Dark-Thirty to get a jump on things.  Snowing pretty good here, but the forecast of 3"-4" is just a walk in the park for us hearty, sage, and tough N'awtheners.

Yesterday I sat there shaking my head In between reading the unnecesarily negative and always futile exchanges, where everyone goes home losers, with some collateral damage thrown in for good measure.Sad

Last night I grabbed the wife and took her out for dinner to celebrate at our favorite local establishment, the Garden City Pub.  Just the two of us for the first time in I cannot remember when.  All youse guyz have me to thank me for getting the United States Senate and the Congress to declare January 15 for what it is every year, a national holiday, but observed this year January 21st.  Yesterday was RI52 day. WhistlingThumbs Up

Later, gang.  As LAZ would say, especially for the California boys this past week, stay frosty.

20 degrees with sun on the North Bluff.

Looks like it will be a nice day for a drive to Milwaukee. It should be fun. I don’t know yet if we are driving junkers up there to the auction or if we will bring good cars back. My guess is it will be driving junkers. Sad

V8 Dennis, If it is a Honda Del Sol I will rip off the air cleaner for you. Wink

Good morning to you to Chief, Good to see you woke up. Maybe we can send you enough cold that the snow can stay and you can go sledding. Whistling

BOC, Hope you shake the crud soon.

I see the price of salad will be going up because of the cold out there in California. That will not make the wife happy. Sounds like Roy is getting a winter blast as well.

Not much train news but I got my 5 amp fuses yesterday and now I have wired the mini fuse holders in front of all my small wire circuits. The wires should be safe now.

Time for some Cheerios then off to drive.

I hope everyone has a safe and peaceful day

ENOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What we have to two or three strong willed people.  Can express your opinions but no fighting, please.

I make strong statements sometimes and get teased and poked.  I take it as fun.  Remember, we have been attacked by the "outside" and baned together.  Don't let us "destroy" from within.  I'm sure the "rat" is gloting.  Shake hands.

Cloudy, misty and warm.  Guess what??  The "S" word is in the forecast for Thursday night.  Will not stick due to warm ground and air at the ground level.  Now I know, someone is going to say it is not sticking because the Chief's hot air in Roseyville. Tongue Tied

Evening all!

Cold here and it SNOHIZO'd last night - - - but it was all gone by Noon!

But still cold and below freezing tonight.

Getting better every day and that is good. Got some work done on the ad hoc "club layout" which used to be my home layout until I had to take it down a few years back. Expanded it from 8x12 to 8x20. Will take it to a show this weekend and we will be runnin' some trains! Yes

Have a great day tomorrow all!

Regards, Roy
