JoeD - This dinner is the ONLY time I drink..shots with the boys, naturally. My date has promised to be the DD, which is cool. Not that I get plastered, just in case. Cinnamon Schnapps is my poison of choice with a little coffee Patron for good measure. First time I have held a executive position on the fire department. I'd rather be on the line officers, but seems like that is favoritism at best.
I was going to comment on the "situation" but I feel it in everyones best interest if we just move on. Just my opinion.

My son has spoiled me by doing everything I need on the computer. As a result, I stay computer illiterate. He has no patience with me as far as teaching goes. He tells you once, that's it. I need to do things in repetition in order for it to sink in. Re wiring and circuit protection, I have been using only my Z4000 which has some built in protection and that has kept my electronics safe so far. The Z4000 has a fast blow circuit breaker. The old Lionel ZW would just sit there and cook until the bi metal breaker would heat up enough to trip. By that time the electronics were history. My biggest problem right now is voltage drops and poor DCS signal in some places. I need to put in several more feeders to my two loops to correct and probably do the star wiring method recommended by the DCS guru's. They recommend two wires out and back to each location, not bus wiring. I need to check out the best source for buying wire too. I have a little left to get started which is a pretty heavy gauge. Yesterday, I had a turnout switch that decided to break it's throw bar. It is the lead switch to my engine facility. I can still throw the points by hand and it's near the control panel so easy to reach. I might just do that for a while since, I would have to tear up a lot of track to get that bad switch out for repair. The switch is a Ross Custom switch. Great switches but the older throw bars wear out with use. I have some spares that they sent me though. Weather is warming up nicely. Warm all week. Pat, let me know if you find out about "anonymous postings" Chief, I can just picture you running out in the rain in the middle of the night with your trusty six shooter looking for the bad guys. I am serving as video director for three church services on Sat and Sun and have my nieces birthday party late Sunday many miles away. ChiefEaglesMorning. Chuck and the Yankee snow cannon did a direct hit into Roseyville. Snowed hard for a period of time. Snowed so fast and hard that everything covered over including pavement [all within 30 minutes]. By the time I awoke from reclinerizing, pavement and sidewalks had turned to slush. All pavement and concrete is clear this AM. Crunchy icey wet snow on other surfaces. Sun coming up which will melt it right away. Shame as it is a pretty snow.
Chuck.........you scored a direct hit on the Chief with the snow cannon!!!!!!. I wonder when he will figure out how this happened. Buckeye's last raid seems to have done the trick, when he planted GPS tracking collars on the Chief's dogs (Lucy, Finn, Burg, and Wiley) and another tracking device under THE BOX.
Keep the fusillade going until the Chief surrenders. Hopefully I can direct some arctic air down his way early next week when the temps here will be in the teens......not an easy task with so much hot air coming out of Roseyville, but I will do my best.

Good Morning from Central Jersey. 31 degrees and no snow. I stayed at Mom's last night to help with a few chores. Later, I cleaned and serviced my 681 Turbine. When I get home I will take it for a loop or 2 around the layout.
Mike: Glad that things are working out. Things are quiet.
Jeffrey: Good luck with your trailer. I am still not done with my mess from Sandy.
Chief: Enjoy the show.
Sandy Progress: The Family Rental House took a good hit. It is on Barnegat Bay. Look out the kitchen window and you see Barnegat Light House. Look out the front and you see the Ferris Wheel at Seaside Heights. The electric, walls, flooring, bathroom and kitchen are done and the tennant is back in. My son is doing the decks now. The siding is next. My boat has been retrieved. Some cosmetic damge and the engine went under. Too bad it was just rebuilt. Not bad for traveling about a 1/2 mile and into the woods with 19 other boats. The back garage was destroyed by 2 BIG Oak Trees from seperate neighbors. My daughter's 1966 Mustang was undamaged. My 1956 Chevy Nomad now looks like Tim Taylors 1955 Nomad after he dropped the beam on it. Mine goes cross way instead of length way. I almost parted it out but I got the idea of making a "No Camino". More on that later. I was lucky that nothing happened to my house. I have a lot of wood to split now.

May or may not get to the Greenberg Show in Monroeville this weekend. Need to get the manure out of the barn & Mrs still has a severe case of the CRUD. She's been off work all week.

Got a Mayor's meal with a economic development person [Town pays] and then to Hunters' Haven to help take stock to the Raleigh Gun Show. Will help setup there most of the afternoon.
Got both new NS engines going. One has some issues [smoke not working and directional lighting not coming on]. Removed shell and everything looks OK including boards all plugged in tight. Will do a factory reset today. If that does not clear the problems, will take it to Todd's tomorrow for "warranty" repair. Other one, big SD80 is great. Already in a lashup and leading the long train of loaded coal cars.

What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was all gloom and doom in SE Indiana. Today, well.... the situation is better. Is there cause for rejoicing....no, but the one aspect that could be improved was improved to the extent we could get right now. Again, I know this is very cryptic, but this is as much as I can share right now. In a few months, I will be able to say more when I know how the story plays out. Sort of a quiet day at work with some meetings tosssed in as well. Some were useless and some were aggravating. Did enjoy a nice Celtic music show downtown Indy at the Artsgarden. The "saucy wench" is doing better, but still not 100%. TBIL and I can drive. I hope everyone has a good day.

I’m starting my lunch break now. It is cold and sunny again today, but a bit more windy than usual. It’s Friday so I have plenty of tasks to take care of at work. I have no other big plans for the day, but may take the wife out for dinner tonight if our babysitter is available.
Jack – The estimated time was two months from shipment date. It shipped on 6 Dec so it turned out to be a month and a half. I’m glad it’s here now. If they paid attention to the name on the label they probably would have chucked it into the ocean.
Bo – The Tardis rides are fun; I wish I could make them more often but the time difference doesn’t always work out.
Rich – I’m picturing 48 hours.
Jeffrey – I’m glad the tree didn’t cause worse damage to your home or to you.

I was trying to get caught up on the pot from the last week that I was AWOL. I hope that everyone just takes a deep breath and moves on.
I have been busy taking Mom for her daily radiation treatments, infusion every 3 weeks, blood work and doctor's appointments. Her radiation has been extended another week. It has been long days for mom lives 55 miles away and then we have to go another 1/2 hour to get to the hospital for the treatments. I am definitely not complaining for this has to be done. I have just been too tired to post and i am battling the crud also.
To all who have been ill with the crud, get well soon.

On the train front, I am going over, cleaning and lubing all of my engines and tenders. I am making a list of all of the parts that I need and replacing what is needed. I am also going top be starting on all of my rolling stock.
