Good Morning from Blueberryhill RR....
It is a cold 37 degrees. Going up to 46 today with sunshine.
Today is an easy day. I have a few chores to do and a project to finish. I plan on watching the playoff games today, if I can find them on the TV menu. Then, lunch and a nap. Love those naps.
Got a lot of emails last night. Need to read them today.
Dining car is here with Cheerois for breakfast.
Y'all have a great Saturday.

Good evening guys,
Have not been on all day. A friend from out of town came over and we spent some time with the trains. He shared some good ideas which I really appreciated and took some pictures of the railroad. Earlier this evening took the wife out to dinner and now it is about time to hit the sack. Before she headed off to bed we sat and watched the first episode of Dr. Who and we saw the Tardis in action. It was a pretty good episode.
You know, I was thinking about something someone said about social networking and I think I got what he was saying. I started thinking though, really after my friend left this afternoon, that if it were not for forums like this I would not have learned nearly as much as I have about model railroading or gotten nearly as far as I have on my railroad. My friend who visited and spent several hours with me and my railroad was really the first person to do so in quite some time. I have simply not met many people in my local area who are into O gauge railroading. Matter a fact I am the only person I know of in my town who is into 3-rail O gauge. We don't have a train shop or what I would even call a full-line hobby shop any more where you can buy needed supplies. The closest shop is probably about an hour away. The hobby magazines do a good job and are inspirational, but they can't cover everything. The forum as helped me alot with issues regarding electrical (such as train protection), problems with switches, signalling, weathering and how to approach different aspects of scenery to name just a few.
Yes, somethimes a forum thread can go askew and once in awhile even get a little ugly. People will be people and sometimes it is not pretty. But in the big scheme of things I feel blessed that there are forums like this to help modelers like me learn to do better modeling. The friendships and comradery that can develop are pretty cool too. Just some thoughts I was having.
Good night everybody! Bo

John, sorry to hear about the extended radiation treatment, but I'm sure it's for the best. Good luck with the continued clean-up and glad the boat is more or less in good shape after all it went through too. Let me know when you get hooked up on messenger again and we'll get you onboard Jeff - glad you have your power back. Chief, good luck on the engine, glad it's under warranty.
Nothing much going on today - worked, met Char and the kids for dinner at McAllisters, and then a quick stop at Barnes and Nobles so my son could get The Lord of the Flies for school. Got a new protector for my phone as I used an eyeglass wipe to clean it and it apparently killed the glue? They installed it for me I still need to get a new on on my nexus reader. I signed up for Family Handyman digital version for $10 a year and it looks great on the nexus 7. I'm sure the 10 would be better, but I was on a budget and this one does whatever I need to do - kuddos to Asus and Google.
I'm going to get one of the new Thomas sets with remote - saw one at the Lionel booth at the train show. There is a train show in Arnold, MO in Feb - can't wait!
TARDIS is ready and I will drive - let's go!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Well Mr. Eagles, truth be known I am a few miles west of home today , it's all good :)

What a difference a few miles make. A Guy from Iowa on the Big Blue said 50 degrees was the high [same as here today]. HUMMMM OH, he also says Sunday will be as low as 4 degrees.
Well, set up for the big gun and knife show at the fair grounds. What a crowd there will be. News media already "doging" folks.
Off to bed.
Sleep tight.

Good Evening a cold 21 at the Jersey Shore.
Mom is a bit bummed out. They extended her radiation for another week.
John F, Glad to hear from you and glad that all is well. When Mom's medical situation is finished I will be joining you at the museums.
SJ, Congrats on the Escape. Enjoy
Joe D, How much longer in Japan?
Jeffrey, Glad you got your power back
Rich, I hope that you are enjoying the dinner. VP is a good position in the Fire Co. I held it for a good 10 years.
Having trouble with Yahoo Messenger. I hope to square it away so that I can go for the Tardis Ride! I miss it!!!
Have a Great Evening,
John
Well I'm back in my own home now. I checked everything out and it's all working. My cable internet wasn't working initially but I learned that was due to a problem up the line. Man, I tell you one thing. It was chilly in here. I set the heater on high and let it rock and roll. It's good to be back on my computer. It's not the fastest but compared to the one I was using at my fathers place it's lightning fast. That other one has dual Celeron D processors on a bargain basement no-name board, This one has dual Pentium E5300's on a good grade MSI board. This one hands down is the better of the two by a long way.Well it's time to call it a night. See y'all tomorrow. One of my other computers.

I have to put exhaust on my daughters car this weekend and am hoping to get a little time in the train room.I really need to spend some time cleaning down there.
It's 35 degrees
Tomorrow 40 then down she goes till next Friday. We went out for a late lunch and then I had my couch time. Almost got the new Escape smashed. We were in the left turn lane and a driver from the other direction turned into the lane but was looking for a chance to turn and not at us. We were lucky a couple of horns stopped him in time. Banilla will be waiting for the thingy guys....S.J.

Something possessed me to clean the kids bathroom and some other nooks and crannies tonight. They were pretty bad. And then I cleaned up after the cats, made dinner for everyone and generally picked up. And there was nothing in it for me. What was I thinking?
I must escape to the basement now. Stop me before I clean again!

Feeling better now than I was earlier., Had supper, watching something on the presidents right now.
Ohayō,
I’m awake much earlier than I’d like this Saturday morning; it wasn’t my choice, but the youngest decided he was ready to up and about. The babysitter was unavailable last night so we got takeout and ate at home instead. There were still no dishes to clean so that was good for me. The only plans I have for today are to prep the table I built a couple of weeks ago for staining and do some schoolwork. The wife has a baby shower to attend for a lady that works for me.
Rich – C’mon, you don’t want to get plastered in front of your date. I’m sure that would impress her. I don’t drink like I used to either (a good thing), just one or two beers or glasses of wine with dinner nowadays. Executive jobs are not always the most, but they still have importance. Sometimes the smartest thing we can do is .
It’s nice to see you John F. It’s good to know you are well.

LOL Jack. I was NOT referring to anyone. Honest I wasn't. The post was funny, it made me chuckle.

Good to see a post from John again.

Good to see a post from John again.
Ya gotta admit, SJ, this one was short.
IF IT WON'T COME LOOSE BY TAPPING ON IT, DON'T TRY TO FORCE IT. USE A BIGGER HAMMER.
Got to 42 this afternoon but strong winds from the south blowing over the ground make it feel cold.
The wife came home from the school sick today. She had to go in to get the MLK day pay but they told her she could leave. Well after about two hours of watching Gun Smoke on TV with me, she is up and doing laundry. A strange cure indeed.
You all have a nice night.

Ogaugeoverlord The "anonymous" showed up when Megan deleted Brent's account. There was no longer a name in the system for him. People can be offensive enough when they post with their name, letting them post without their name would be a cage match. I can go back and delete the postings if it is going to knot everyone in a bunch.

Bob,
You may have the best idea there. Part of the problem is when CTT killed his post ( and It needed to be killed ) then no one could see what the first post was,,,,I saw it ( wish I had not ) and maybe, I should of just let it go and the ones who want to place blame now would need to find another target. I did not say anything other than Good luck with that and that we needed to be more tolerant and a comment on the native americans and how they feel . Then is when all kinds of stuff hit the fan. So all my post and replies are still out there now. The original post started off with if you have to kick me off the pot for this go ahead or something like that then it ripped into everyone and everything. How in that opinion only a few have the right to be here and then listed those that were thought did not belong or should not have the same rights as others. So everyone can think what they may but the issue started with the first post, not me.
I only wish everyone could have seen what I saw then everyone could base their opinions on facts.
Like I said,. An angry young man. At any rate I am done with the subject.
Me thinks I should take a vacation.
Good afternoon.
Head hurts right now. Sun has come out and the temp. rose to 26 degrees.
Feeling tired as well, don't know if I will work on the layout today.
Good afternoon. Well I got the prostate exam done so that's out of the way for another year.Got home to find the electrician had been there. The old boxes all had to be replaced because they were rusted out. $490.00. There goes any money I could have used for the hobby. Getting anything new for it just went from a couple of months to a year or more. Boy, old Murphy must be howling! Now to the fun of getting a reconnect done. I called the power company to have someone come out to reconnect the power and I'm told I have to have a reconnect permit from 911. WHAT!! That's a new one on me! The electrician found that to be strange too. So I call 911's permit line to get the number and I have to jump through a crap load of hoops just to get a darn five digit number. Called the power company back and had to jump through all those hoops again! What a bunch of bureaucratic crap. Well hopefully it'll be reconnected today.
Bob I think it just caught us off guard not knowing what was what.

Good afternoon,
It's been a while so I thought I'd log on and let you all know I'm still around. It just seems like the days get shorter every year and I'm always out of time. Hope everyone is doing well. Right now I'm trying to paint a section of the basement wall behind my work benches that has never been painted since we bought the house 46 years ago. Have to spend half a day moving things to do an hours worth of painting and then put everything back. While I am at it I've been cleaning house and getting rid of some junk I should never have saved. About 1/2 done at this point and hope to finish next week, or maybe the week after as already have three days booked to do other things.
Hope everyone is doing well and have a great weekend.

LawsonFarmsRR LawsonFarmsRR SPMan Good morning all, Bo, re pictures, I still don't know how. I'm an example of "if you teach a guy to fish etc". With me it's the other way around. My son has spoiled me by doing everything I need on the computer. As a result, I stay computer illiterate. He has no patience with me as far as teaching goes. He tells you once, that's it. I need to do things in repetition in order for it to sink in. Re wiring and circuit protection, I have been using only my Z4000 which has some built in protection and that has kept my electronics safe so far. The Z4000 has a fast blow circuit breaker. The old Lionel ZW would just sit there and cook until the bi metal breaker would heat up enough to trip. By that time the electronics were history. My biggest problem right now is voltage drops and poor DCS signal in some places. I need to put in several more feeders to my two loops to correct and probably do the star wiring method recommended by the DCS guru's. They recommend two wires out and back to each location, not bus wiring. I need to check out the best source for buying wire too. I have a little left to get started which is a pretty heavy gauge. Yesterday, I had a turnout switch that decided to break it's throw bar. It is the lead switch to my engine facility. I can still throw the points by hand and it's near the control panel so easy to reach. I might just do that for a while since, I would have to tear up a lot of track to get that bad switch out for repair. The switch is a Ross Custom switch. Great switches but the older throw bars wear out with use. I have some spares that they sent me though. Weather is warming up nicely. Warm all week.
