Did some space checking for my Lionel Christmas 2 loop layout. I think it will work very well. Lowest branches hit the floor, so I will see if I can't get my parents to leave them off for the inner loop.

P.S., the outer loop actually has 0-42 track.

It's 39 and was cloudy all day.

I'm sure nobody here will be surprised to read that I recorded a show on our VCR last night. I do have a DVD player. As expected we had a quiet day. Looks like I shared my cold with Granny so here we go again. That's 2 times each. Banilla is ready and I will wait for the thingy...S.J.

Evening all.  Sucked up leaves in the dark.  Lady in charge of the Church thingy was a -----------.  Took 3 1/2 hours to do a 1 hour thing. Bang Head  I walked out.  Had errands to Tractor Supply and Walmart to do.  That is why leaves got sucked up in the dark.  Confused  Wifey got home 1/2 hour ago from the Church decorating detail.

This afternoon before going to Church thingy, took pictures of two buddies in the house sleeping.

Funny how the biggest and the littlest team up together.

Going hunting very early tomorrow [sneaking into Kev's back yard, I wish].  Back dark 30 [+ some].

32 trips to Home depot later, I managed to get my control center built and the first coat of paint on it.   I don't know what was wrong with me  today, I even made a detailed list of what I needed, and just plain didn't get half of it the first trip.......

The wife will be home from Florida some time this week (I have no Idea when) and I'll use her camera phone to get some pictures posted of my progress on the new layout.  Apparently,  my phone came with the crappiest camera Sprint could possibly find.

Not much going on today. Christmas tree is up, but not decorated yet. That won't stop me though, because I've got several boxes of Flyer roadbed ready to go.  I've got tomorrow off, so I might go to an LHS in West Mifflin that had a case stuffed with Flyer the last time I was there.Stick out tongue The LHS in Bridgeville would be closer, but I wouldn't set foot in there even if they were giving stuff away.

The 322AC that I scored last week should be here tomorrow as well.

Ray and John, Yep, nothing wrong with flat lines.  Don't get me wrong I like them all and love looking at all of the little things on a person's layout. I always wanted to do one of those neat layouts. I am a wrench, not too good with wood, but now that I know Christina can teach Brent how to do a mountain I may try one on my addition with the grand daughter's help Wink

Anyway this post is for the Deer hunrters in the group, Chief and Laz,  about 20 min ago, not 50' from the house this 7 point buck was pushing a doe past the house.

Forgive my crappy Sony Cyber-shot pictures, I was in kind of a rush and afraid he would bolt but you get the point.

 Have a nice night.

Brent, Forgot to comment on your pictures of Christina, they are great.  Your house should be a happy place at Christmas this year.  She is the perfect age.  Glad to hear she is feeling better.

Ray, I think you've got a great layout.  Mine is flat also, but yours is bigger than mine. Wink  I've got a little scenery and a backdrop, always planned to do more but the ambition gets less and less each year.

Need to do a final leaf roundup but the weather has turned nasty, won't get out of the 30s today and probably not for a few days, also very windy.  Not my kind of weather for outdoor work.

Hope everyone has a great week ahead.

Kev, well said about every man's layout versus the ones that make the headlines.  Mine is flat also and is basically around the walls of my garage with an island in the middle for a passenger terminal.  However I get hours of enjoyment out of it regardless of lack of scenery although I do have a little.

Brent, your little princess is precious.  Great photos!

Jeffrey, best wishes on returning to normal after the upset.  Take it easy today.

Got news yesterday that the well known former owner of the Train Shack hobby shop here in Burbank  passed away on November 15th.  Gary Keck was also formerly National President of TTOS and President of TTOS Southwestern Division before that.  Sincere condolences to his family.

Went out for some Mexican food last night to take a break from turkey.  It was good but I call it ballast because it is heavy.  Have to take it in small doses for diet.

Church in about another hour so must get ready.

later,

Ray

Good morning. It's 53° with 48% humidity. Ground was white with frost at 7:15. It'll be mostly sunny with a high of 68°.

Went down this morning and looked after my mother for a couple of hours this morning. Nurse arrived at 8:45. By that time she'd had her breakfast, morning meds, blood sugar check, blood pressure check. That's pretty good considering I feel like crap today. We went the Buffet City last night for dinner. After I came home I took my night meds an dwent to bed. Half an hour later I was on the throne and spent most of the night there. Neither of my parents got sick and we all had the same things to eat. So I just have to believe it was a side effect complication of one or more of my meds. I got less than an hours sleep all night. So the plan for today is to go back to bed. The computer will be off so if anybody calls they're gonna get nothing but a message stating the number is not in service. I don't care if the world is burning down, the fire depts can put it out without me. I'm retired anyway!

Aloha. Sunny and 32-ish. Looks nice from inside. Bears game today - then the big kids are off back to colleges. Or maybe that'll be reversed and they'll leave first. Nice chat on the TARDIS last night. Going to work more on the layout later too...

Kev,
Before I forget - I may have a main board for a docksider. I had mine upgraded to TMCC a few years back and if memory serves me correct that is one of the boards that gets replaced. I will try and check tomorrow and let you know what I come across. If you aren't finicky you could probably pop it and replace it yourself.

That would be great Brent. let me know. I have had this thing apart so much we are like old friends.Laugh Then I can let SubmmBob look at the old one. best i can tell my Dockside is from 2007

BTW Great pictures of your work and your helper. Big Smile Hope she in felling better.

Rich, you can shop for a car on Sunday?? Can't do that in this state. Confused Sounds like you have been plenty busy.

Lehigh, I have one dummy N gauge engine. A Southern pacific SD40 # 9727. Don't know where it came from but I keep it on my desk. At my age I would need a magnifying glass just to run them Wink

Well Bright sun with a light breeze and Yankee crisp at 38 degrees.

Not much going on today I may clean up some parts for the mower repair. The parts should show up this week.

You guys have a good day.

Prayers for all in need, Angel

Morning all.  Sunday School and then decorate tree at Church at 1.  Wifey volunteered me.

Was below freezing.  Bet that killed the tomato and pepper plants.  Leaves from pecan trees are "raining" down.  Trees will be empty by night fall.

Have a good week ahead.

Cold and cloudy for us as well.

Moving some stuff to the barn's attic outside so we can get to the Christmas decorations more easily.

Hope it goes well. Hope to have a two loop railroad around the tree this year. ALWAYS kept to a one loop line by some shortcomings (a.k.a., space concerns, equipment shortages). Hopefully using some tighter curves will get me those two loops. An inner 0-36 loop, outer 0-54 loop spaced just so I can get the loops. Always used to have a large 0-36 loop.

Looks like everybody had a reasonable Thanksgiving.  Was just my wife and I here this year.  Nice day except for the turkey that took foreeeever to cook.  Was 65 degrees for the downtown lighting and fireworks show.

Sunny and mid 30's today.

Just putzing around picking up after some projects so we can get on to the next.  I did stop by the LHS today.  The Halloween spot light car had arrived - ready for next year now.

All for now.

Late Evenin' Fellas

I've been very busy caring for a sick little girl. Sad She seems to have turned the corner so all is well.

Today I was down in the train room building the new christened 'Christina's Hill' it got it's name because said little girl actually helped me build it... yes after watching me dip the plaster cloth into the water she decided she could hand it to me. So I would cut some strips, put them in the water, then she would pull them out and hand them to me - one at a time. Here are the progress photos:

I did lower the radio tower about 3 inches. So far I am please with the progress in this area. Before I started with the plaster cloth I got the rest of the main level's ceiling tiles cut and placed, then the foam roadbed cut and placed, then the track screwed down. I did forget to put the foam roadbed under the second level track as it goes into the tunnel and get that track screwed down, but I can still do that without having to destroy any of our work today.

'Evening, Gents!!

Been long weekend already....Small layout for the Santa gig worked out real well....after a bit of running, my MTH House on Fire was a real hit.....Smoked like crazy.  I wasn't brave enough to run the water hose to the window.  That's for another time.  I'll have to download the photos from the phone to photobucket then here tomorrow.  I posted on FB, so youse giz that are on there have already seen 'em.

Unloaded 195 Christmas Trees this morning(0800), set up the tree racks, had 4 fire call since yesterday (including one at 0300 this morn), had another Thanksgiving Dinner at Mom's.  Slept for about an hour, went to do a little shopping at the ShopRite then home again.  And a little internet/e-mail and I'll be off to bed soon.  I may even sleep in.....Laugh.  Still have to set out some trees for sale tomorrow, run some lights over the trees as well.  Then go look for a car.Bang Head

Dinner out side the Beltway was good, missed my brother, who is on assignment in that "A" word country.  His birthday is tomorrow..

Fife - Good Luck on the WV thing...and need some pictures of your MOW progress...Smile, Wink & Grin

Spank - Thumbs Up on Tyler being home!

Apparently, Bob must have had a brain fart....Sorry that happened, Charlie, I found the video on the Blue thing, it is interesting, just not sure where the ad was....Just don't leave us.

SubmmBob - Nice that you're in your new abode...Good Luck!!  At least you'll be left alone...Smile, Wink & Grin

Brutus did sum it up quite nicely...

Kev - your layout always impresses....nice job.

Crystal Clear and into the low 30's right now and a bit breezy...

I may skip the Greenburg show tomorrow as I have waaay too many things on my plate.

Yup, Earthquake in Clementon....I didn't think anyone lived there...Atco, sure, but Clementon...?  Who felt it?  I slept through it....Zzz

See ya tomorrow!

I am the monster in your head...And I thought you'd learn by now, It seems you haven't yet.

KRM

wrconstruction

KRM, that is a nice layout.

Lehigh, Give it time, buy a piece here and there, and you'll be there before you know it

I didn't get much done on on the layout today, some old friends called last night and needless to say I stayed out a little too late like the old days.    I had a good time but but now I know why I don't go out like that anymore!!

I'll get back on it tomorrow, then I think I'll be ready for a break till next weekend...

Ryan

 Well put Ryan,

Lehigh, here I was just a little over one year ago.

This is just a flat line, nothing special, will never hit the big time in CTT as they only like to feature the 3% that are so cool and over the top but there are a lot of us with a low budget that just like to play and have fun and as for me all layouts big, small, flat, or full of scenery and streams have something worth looking at and sharing. JMHO.

So just set out to do what you want and it will come.

 Enjoy, Wink

Amazing to see what happens when given some time. Lionel layouts never cease to amaze me, but my N scale layout does it's job. Smile

Kevin you have a nice layout, it runs well and looks good. Best part is you did it yourself. I like the green & gray 2400s the best but the blue stripes are second on my fav list...S.J.
