Back from the hunt.  Nothing but does.  Full moon makes deer hunting hard.  They move all night and sleep all day.  Was a frosty start, shirt sleave day and coat night.

KRM

John and Ryan,

Thanks for the comments on the Deere but that was not my point. ( just jacking with the Chief) it is a nice machine but it is the coldest place in the world when you are on it plowing snow.

What is plowing snow??????  Whistling  We have cabs on our John Deeres down South with A/C and heat. [got it made now, I use to farm in the heat and cold with no cab]

At least I can pull SJ's dog sled out of the ditch. Laugh Wink

Since he is never sober BeerBeerBeer, stays in the ditch all the time.

Going to start the new Pot early.  A special for John Hudson.

John and Ryan,

Thanks for the comments on the Deere but that was not my point. ( just jacking with the Chief) it is a nice machine but it is the coldest place in the world when you are on it plowing snow.

Ryan like you, I had an older machine , a JD 750 from 1976 or something with no loader or front wheel drive and with 8+ acres and a 1/2 mile long driveway I needed something better. I got this in 2006, new and it was about the cheapest JD with 32 Hp you could get. I made my own 3rd line Hyd valve system because they did not offer one and I built the bulkhead for the quick connect Western Truck snow plow. It has a nice quick disconnect loader I use in it the wood and around the place all of the time. It does the job and in the summer it pulls a 72" mower deck for the big open grass out on the front 3. To get a machine with a 3rd valve and cab would of been about 7K more. Tongue Tied

At least I can pull SJ's dog sled out of the ditch. Laugh Wink

Picking up the Grand  Daughter tomorrow at 11:00 AM at Morris and we will have her  till Sunday night. It will be great. The daughter got her due date today and it is 7-15-13 Smile

It's 41 right now, stayed cloudy all day. My first GPS arrived today, I managed to charge the battery and tell it where home is. I didn't give it my address but it's dead on anyway. Kindda scary. Nothing much instruction wise so I guess we will learn as we go. John and I enjoyed our naps and then I played some online slots. Banilla is ready for the thingy crew..S.J.

Hello there!

I am really glad that it is Friday. No homework either. Big Smile

Tomorrow, I plan on getting my Lionel Christmas 2012 tree layout finished FINALLY! It has been at least 3 to 4 days since I last worked on it, and it has just been bugging me. Been too busy with NHS (National Honor Society) meetings and work.

Kev, nice rig.  I'm still running the olde ford 2N, I've been looking at new tractors but never followed through with a purchase.  That 2N just keeps plugging along. can't kill it. I've rolled it, swamped it, it sits in the weather 365, just keeps going.

its just not practical for my 5 acres and long drive way.

need something like you got there.

Hopefully some layout work tonight,

tomorrow I gotta take wife to p/u her new car in Glen Burnie Maryland, then for unknown reasons, I am going to the Greenburg Show in Timonium. the last few i went to have been less than impressive. oh well, its on the way.

The "Retirement  Nap " felt great. Ran a few errands for my wife. She is getting ready for the Christmas Bazaar at the Church, tonight and tomorrow. Her sister Linda is running it so Doray naturally helps out. I was volunteered to help in the kitchen. A good friend of mine is running it so I definitely have to help.

Rich, Careful with those runs. Be safe. We ahd a Haz Mat call a little while ago. Some more drums washed up on the shore. Just an empty drum and 2 with water. Good luck with the job.

Kev: Nice Deere!!!

Banks: Good luck with the hunt.

Prayers for all in need.

Laz: Stay Frosty!

Banks

Last weekend The grandkids & I ran trains for the first time in a while. I discovered the wheels are loose on the axles on one of my Blue Box Athearn’s. It doesn’t seem to affect performance.

Jeffry, do you know of a source of replacements?

If you're talking diesel and they were made after 1980 you should be able to get the parts from Athearn. If the wheels are wobbling side to side it's a good bet the axle gears are loose. The best fix on those is to replace them. Those can be found on Ebay rather easily. The diesel drive wheels with gear attached are there too.

Hello all,

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!!

HUDSON Let the Party begin!!!!!!!!!!  Right after your nap

I see I missed an anniversary, belated congas!!!!!

Been a busy week,

Spent all day Monday taking my rifle for a walk in the woods. I never had a need to even look through the scope. Saw only one deer all day. It was a large doe.

Last weekend The grandkids & I ran trains for the first time in a while. I discovered the wheels are loose on the axles on one of my Blue Box Athearn’s. It doesn’t seem to affect performance.

Jeffry, do you know of a source of replacements?

Fife  is this the same place that fell through a while back?

Anjdevil Congas on the new position. To bad about the arsonist.

Laz must’ve gotten lost in the woods????????

Jack,  Conga’s to your Mrs & Maximus. We’ve had a Dobe in the house since 1990. The first was a gift to my daughter that was received with much unfounded trepidation. He turned out to be the best we ever had. He met an early demise in a house fire when he was four years old.

The weekend will be Hunting and Christmas preparations.

't is finally lunch. & almost time to start the weekend. Try t get back later

Prayers for those in need

So that guy got caught in a fire he started? Dunce What a shame.

Good morning all,

Actual rain here this morning.  Big deal for us.  It rained maybe half an inch last night and this morning.  Forcast is for more to come over the next few days.

Got an errand to run now.  More later,

Ray

PS  Forgot to roll drivers window all the way up last night.  Duh!  Result, soggy bottom while running my errand.  That's what happens in a place where it never rains.

I had a nice chat with Brutus, Charlie and Doug M last night. We even talked about toy trains for awhile. Granny is up this morning but her voice still sounds like a throat full of gravel. We will probably stay in today..S.J.

Good morning. It's 51° with 99% humidity and patchy fog. It'll be mostly cloudy with a high of 72°.

No plans for today other than doing a little cleanup work on the layout. Maybe now I can get further than the preparation stage before my day gets hijacked. That'll be great. I have some cleanup work on the extension (Sundown) and the front of the east side (Knutzville). There's places for the stuff to go, it's just getting it there.

Happy Semi-Retirement John!!!!  Cake

BeerBeerBeerBeerBeerBeer

Prayers for Tyler and Cathy.

Tonight was haircut night.  Had a nice chat with the guys about autoloaders - Lionel v MTH, and other pressing issues of the day.  Need to hit Home Depot tomorrow on the way home from work for a few supplies for the weekend.

Glad you got the paperwork, Chief - and a line on someone who can help get that thing fixed.  Heat pumps don't work in MO, as the temps get too high or too low, not sure which.

TARDIS is ready and I could do with some of that lemon icecream, but we will also have banilla!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

First day back to work since Cathy had her surgery. She said it was the worst day so far. I believe it because  neither of us got more than 2 hours of sleep. She just couldn't get comfortable and she no longer has any morphine in her, just oxycodone. Better days are ahead.

HudsonJohn - By the time you read this you will be semi-retired. Some of you may not be aware he has a part-time job. Good luck to you. Just can't wait for the retirement party next spring (by then she'll have it planned)

Jim - Nice job on the 302. Those Atlantic's do run nice.

SJ - I agree. If anyone can watch Christmas Vacation without laughing, somethings wrong with you!

Off to bed.  Up early and driving east.  Back dark 30+.

Heat pump [a mini-split] in the Box has acted up off and on.  It is a strange named product.  Been trying for months to get info on the thing.  My HVAC guy is familiar with the popular brands.  Well, did some back tracking as of sorts.  Had emailed a distributor of HVAC parts in CA.  Got a snotty email back.  So I called and got a live person on the phone.  Very nice young lady.  She did some research and said that she had a replacement part if it was needed.  Asked if they had manuals for sale.  Did not but gave me a number of a manufacturer in PA.  Called and was told they did not manufacture the heat pump but gave me a number in TN.  Sure enough.  Got the nicest guy [Quality/Engineer is his title].  Well, he rattled off stuff about how to test.  Then he said, "Have your HVAC man call me when he gets to your unit.  I will talk him through some things to test."  He basically knows what my guy has to do to get it right.  Also he sent me three PDF files.  I downloaded the operator's manual, service manual and installation manual.  Cost me paper and ink.  My guy has the service manual to look over before coming to the Box.  Makes you feel good when someone takes pride in their product and job.

Sleep tight.
