Hello all

Pretty good Halloween here in the Ol' Pueblo. Bought candy for giving out  I think maybe the second time in my life. Usually I'm either at work or keeping my head down. I dressed up as a Corvair mechanicStick out tongue I was changing out the muffler and putting in new exhaust packings on the right "log". Family that came by said they call this place the 'cool car house'. Big Smile

New muffler sounds good. Need a tailpipe though. What they had didn't quite fit. Something to look for tomorrow. Old muffler was starting to rust out on the inside and was too big and in the way of the valve cover. It came w/ a used engine I got. Was an old Sears "Muzzler". Wonder if they still use that name?

Rented a couple movies to finish the night off. One made me think quite a bit.

Time to find a pillow.

Morning.  Getting ready to go down east to deer hunt.  Going later in the AM and hunt stands through lunch.  Got to call heat/AC buddy.  Heat pump in box frozen.  Did that last year right after he installed.  Came and did some pressure changes and all was OK from then on.

Have a good one.

Hi GUYZ,

HAPPY NOVEMBER!

Rain again today.  Rained all day yesterday.  Picked up rest o vinyl fencing yesterday, was gonna put a section in but when I removed plywood over the hole you guessed it 3 feet of water in hole.  Covered back up and gonna look today.  Got a pund pump to get it out then I'll put a section up later.  Won a CN Tank train off e bay last nite.  WIFEY got her new KIA SOUL last nite so she is a happy lady.  Nice car runs great gotta good deal and also bought the extended warranty for 10 years or 100k at a cheap price so now shes set for a while.

Prayers for those in need.

Mornin' boys.  Laugh  Just got the mental image of sirjames hand dipping scoops of banilla into trick-or-treaters bags.  Just kicked on the furnace.  Sitting on 1/4 tank of heating oil...gonna be an expensive phonecall. Sigh  There goes the train budget.  Did pick up these cool items for wifey's Dept 56 display this past weekend:

Good morning. It's 50° with 97% humidity and dense fog. Later it'll be mostly sunny with a high of 82°.

Well the morning will be pretty much shot. I have to go down to my parents place this morning and see that my mother gets her breakfast and morning meds then be there to watch over her until my father gets home. Later I have to go to town to pay bills, buy gas and groceries and do whatever else I need to get done.

Happy November 1st

Hope everyone is doing well, and faired well from the storms.

Today is Christina's 15 month b-day! She had a blast trick-or-treating last night. Memories for a lifetime - just have to get them written down in her baby book.

Had a large branch come down in the front yard (did not hit anything). It is a rotten branch that I've been watching for years - I could not cut it down since it was the top most branch on a 40 - 50 ft oak tree. Hope to get it cut up this weekend and depending on the density I may burn it or just drag it to the woods. TheQ's cousin and his wife (who we went trick-or-treating with last night) had a tree come down over their fence, so after I'm done cutting up the branch on Saturday I'll head over to their place to do away with the tree - and hopefully get some firewood for next year! :)

I am really thinking about cutting down a few trees around the yard this year. Just feel that I need to 'think the heard' a bit. Just take out some smaller stuff and in the spring have a tree guy come and take the tops off about 5 -7 trees - take them from 50 ft to 20 or so, then I'll finish them off next Fall.

Christina and I ran a train again on Sunday. She REALLY likes running trains with Daddy. Smile So I have to really start thinking about the under-the-tree garden for this year. Last year I bought 3 complete FasTrack circles - 60, 48, 36 so I am thinking a simple three tierd hill? We'll see. Gotta run. TTYL

WOW SJ, November already.

Sunny here in North Central IL. and the frost is melting off the shed roof. Going to low 50s so they say.

Like Jeffery, 1st of the month = bills to pay.

Nice stuff Fife.

Good luck with the hunt Chief.  Wink

Brent  I think your right to cut back on some trees. I need to do the same. Some are just too close to the house. What did you have Christina dressed up as for trick -or -treating? My grand daughter was Tinkerbell. Smile

SJ, after passing out the ice cream you had better keep a close eye on your place for a few days. Surprise We had no trick-or-treaters, just a doe who came dressed as a fawn. We had put out a pan of corn for her.

I have to pick up the ZW I got on the bay last month from Ken later today.

He Replace the power cord, 4 carbon rollers then align roller holders to a clean secondary coil, 2 terminal posts, circuit breaker and installed 2 diodes! Cleaned/adjust both sets of switch-shaft contacts, sandblasted base plate then paint, clean case! Max. output now about 21.5 volts!  For $69.00 not too bad I don't think. So that puts me in it fully reconditioned at $125.30

Brutus, Prayers for a quick recovery for Char and prayers for all others in need and hit by Sandy. Angel

Srue will be glad when next Wednesday gets here. Yeah

That is better. Sorry for the waist of space. Can anyone help me identify the group? I think I see Chief center back row, Fifedog in front just to Chief's left, SJ standing on right, Shake n' Bake two in from SJ and the TCC crew on the left. The rest I am not sure of. Any help?

Good morning all,

Hard to believe that November is here already.  The damage from Sandy is looking worse every day as more is revealed.  Prayers for all those folks who were hard hit.  If this is a forecast of things to come if global warming is in fact a factor, we will probably have to build dikes around N.Y.  Hope not.

Thinking about Cal Stewart this coming week end but my heart is not in it.  A lot of the friends I shared it with over the years have either passed on or moved away.  Jury is still out on wheather I will go or not.

Did not have too many Halloweeners last night but gave out most of the candy.  Have a little left for the house.  Neighbor next door and his whole family were in costume on the way to party last night.  He was decked out as a convict with striped pants and shirt.  Looked pretty authentic.

David Letterman, on Tuesday night told a story about his dog killing a deer.  Must be a pretty big dog or a small deer.  He has mentioned the dog before as being hard to train.

Went for early walk this morning and had to wear long pants and winter shirt for the first time this Fall as temps were in the 50's.  Went to 8:30AM mass for All Saints Day and back home for omlett breakfast.

Have a good day,

Ray

Back from the morning duty call. Went to town and got the van inspected. From there went to pay on my loan, get gas and buy groceries.

Speaking of groceries, Ezra Johnson bought his wife a new grocery getter. Traffic jams shouldn't be a problem.

Pat Glad it helped.

Evening all not a lot going on. Drop off car so they could install ( at there cost) the receiver to the key-less entry so I can get into the car and unlock the doors from a distance. Not much else is going on. Off tomorrow so relaxing tonight and hope to catch the tardis later.

SJ I could just see you sitting on the porch dipping ice cream into trick or treat bags

Aloha!  Happy November! Had a nice Halloween - took the boy around - then gave out candy. Plenty left for me... It was sunny but cold. Then a nice TARDIS ride with SJ and Brutus. Today was busy helping the bride reorganize the youngest' room whilst he was in school, met with a few guys to encourage their job search. Mom stil without power in CT, sister working from home in Brooklyn; blocks-long lines for buses.

November 1st,  Got up to 54 degrees around 4:00PM

Paid bills, got gas, $3.349

72" 3 point hitch mower is stored away with the leaf sweeper and 48" rider mower. 700# counter weight is installed on the John Deere and plow is set up to the quick connect bulkhead for the loader. Cleaned up the ash pile from all of the leaves that I had to burn. Blew the water out of the hose reels and stored them in the cold side of the shed.

Picked up the ZW transformer from Ken Koehler, looks good, I will give it a test run in a bit.

Brent, great picture, Glad you could post it, she is a doll.

RT and DougM, I will try to hit the Tardis tonight. Not sure if I can make it or not.

Chief, Any luck with the hunt??? Hmm

Prayers for all in need and those who were in the way of Sandy,,, WOW my heart goes out to them. Angel

Later

Well I have just run the new power supply ZW off jumpers for 1.5 hours. Works great. Now I am ready as far as power for the addition.  Yes    Anybody looking for a CW80?

Kev,

That ZW and LW really cleaned up nice. Thumbs Up  What Ken charged you is reasonable as well.  My former LHS charged me $92 to overhaul one ZW.Indifferent  That "overhaul" consisted of one roller, one binding post, and two diodes.Angry  After that, I learned how to overhaul ZWs on my own.  I did two others and corrected the shoddy work of the LHS on #1.
