Finally, somebody notices. [:0] If you look at many of the old railroad station signs one will find an elevation beneath the name of the station.

Getting back to the subject of this post: HP photo will not work with the CTT forum. WE had many experts try their hand and fail. Solution is to go to photoisland.com and sign up. Takes but a few minutes and those photos WILL post. here.

Would love to take the train. Funny, costs as much as flying and takes longer. Sometimes you can drive faster thant he train gets you around. Our railroads are their worse enemy. Enjoy the day and all of you ahve a good weekend.

No, it's not General Lee...it's the head of the North Carolina Department of Fisheries admiring all the trophy northerns in Lake Envirotex! Click the picture and look closely just past the guy standing up in the boat...probably a 25 pounder at least!

I have been checking out Shutterfly. The Chief's comments may be well worth noting. One of the computer jocky magazines rated them highly as a place to post photos.

Viagra only enlarges certain areas of the images...then when I tell friends to "Quick come and see how big it is!" it shrinks back to the small size and they can't see it...(sigh) But I do like the Shutterfly host...!

Jim "Tex" Duda, told you so. [:D] Now I think you said SIZE makes a difference. [:P] Think if you try Viagra, it will stay there longer? [^] Pictures that is.

Nope...both are originally 640 x 480...so it seems Shutterfly expands into a larger picture. That's enough to have me seriously considering using it from now on...

Hi Jim,

Yes they do get larger when click on. The top one is larger than the bottom one. Did you post them at different sizes??

By the way, nice engine.

This is a test using Shutterfly as the image host. I'm curious to see if the image expands when you click it like it does from PhotoIsland. Seems to work pretty much the same as PhotoIsland, except there is no "link for auction" utility. Moot point for me...

The top image is from Shuttefly and the bottom one is from PhotoIsland. Clicking them seems to slightly enlarge both. You guys spend a lot of time working on the little details in your layouts and a lot of it is missed in the smaller images...wi***hey could be displayed up to 640 x 480, providing the file size is reasonable.

Spankybird,
THE ADS, THE ADS.......that's the difference between the OGR forum and this forum and I have this funny feeling that the ads and/or ad blocking software is stopping the photos from HP from being posted. Can you see animation below or just an ugly looking brown mouse doing nothing:

I have been looking on the HP Photo site and it looks like there is a place on it to store your pics for actions (etc.) Note this is only for 3 months.
QUOTE:
How do I create an auction link with my photo?
When you create a link to an auction site, the photo is placed in a private temporary spot on HP Photo and you get a URL that links to your image. The temporary link remains active for three months, but you can create a new link to your image at any time. Just click on the album where your image is located. Then check the "select" box to the bottom left of your image. Then click on "create link for auction" on the top right under "photo tools."

I have also been looking over on QGR forum [:O] on this same subject and I noticed many concerns as to how long the pics would remain on the forum. My best guess is 3 months. [B)]

This may not be the best place to host your pics for the forum. There goes my 18 bucks, darn.

Hi Jim,

The first time I post a photo here, that is exactly what I did. I did the preview and it all looked great at home, but no one else could see it. I then started my web page and up-loaded the photo’s to it.

Unless you have a two way form of communications, this can’t happen. As I understand it, the form need to pull the picture from a HOST site. I think it requires the site to have public viewing, like a web page.

There is a way to post HPphoto on this site, I just have not found it yet. [banghead]

If you look at your profile photo, it is from HPphoto. Why does it post it there and not on the rest of the form[?][?].

Like I say, there must be a way. [:-^] If I find out, it won’t cost you more than $18.00 to find out. [(-D] [(-D] [(-D]

Just kidding [:o)]

Has anyone ever used a forum that allowed you to simply drag and drop a .jpg file from your computer directly into the post? Or is this technically unrealistic? It would have to have the intelligence of resizing a large file to meet the maximum file size imposed by the Webmaster, I suppose...

Or, allow "attachments" similar to the way e-mail clients work...?

Until CTT gets this fixed, this forum is just an also-ran. There has to be some kind of standard between these things.

There is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why any of us should have to have ten different programs to post pictures on ten different forums. One program, whether it be HP, Photoisland or whatever, should work on all!

It might be time to ask Bergie, the webmaster here. That is very strange that they would work in one forum and not the other. There must be something different between the two, the question is WHAT. I wish I could be more helpful, sorry.

QUOTE: Buckeye,
If that is the case, why is there no problem posting on the OGR Forum???

I don't know, why does it work on the OGR Forum?

It doesn't work here and it doesn't work on the test web pages that I made and had Spankybird test the connection. I am guessing but web pages can be written in different types of code. Some are compatible with HP and some are not. My test web page was constructed using Front Page and the HP linked photos would not show, but the test photo stored with the web page opened imediately (no red X).

Another example of differences: Front Page will let one construct a web page with embedded video, but some web hostings do not have that feature unless you pay extra.
